Asking Alexandria Lose Significant Member

Asking Alexandria fans were given some serious news last night when frontman Danny Worsnop announced he had officially left the band.

The frontman, who has fronted the band since its reformation in 2008, revealed the news on Twitter (via Twitlonger).

In the message, he explains that he and the band had moved in different directions with the best decision for the band being his departure.

He does reassure fans that Asking Alexandria will continue touring as well as continue working on a new record.
Funny enough, Worsnop’s side band (now new band, we assume) We Are Harlot will release their self-titled, debut album on March 21 through Roadrunner Records.

Check out the full message below.

“To all of my friends and fans:

I would like to let you know that Asking Alexandria and I are moving forward in separate ways. Over the last eight years together we’ve done some amazing things and created something truly special. I now, same as then, want what’s best for the band and at this point in time, that isn’t me. Asking Alexandria will continue to tour throughout the year and will be working on a new album. I will always support and love Asking Alexandria and cannot wait to see what the future holds for them. I am excited for the next chapter of my life with We Are Harlot and will see you all on the road!”

Bono May Not Be Able to Play Guitar Following November Accident

image

When news broke that Bono has been in a solo bicycle accident back in November, many thought that it was nothing but a scrapped knee that was being made into a bigger deal than it should have.

Turned out, the injury for the U2 frontman was a lot more serious than the run-of-the-mill bike boo-boo which would result in the 54-year-old undergoing surgery.

It’s been a while since the surgery, and now in a retrospection of 2014, Bono has revealed that the injuries he sustained may result in him never being able to play the guitar again.

“Recovery has been more difficult than I thought,” wrote Bono. “As I write this, it is not clear that I will ever play guitar again.”

Though he writes that “it is not clear,” chances that his should injury may not allow a guitar to be strapped to it for long periods of time is looking bleak.

The day of the bicycle accident, the singer had been on a “high power energy” ride in Central Park. He ended up with a fractured left eye socket, a fractures shoulder-blade, a fractured elbow and a fractured hand.

“I blanked out on impact and have no memory of how I ended up in New York Presbyterian with my humerus bone sticking through my leather jacket. Very punk rock as injuries go.”

As the post warns, it’s a long read (and if you make it to the end, you might be on the same medication as Bono), but it does a thorough recap of the year from Bono’s perspective.

In it, he talks about everything from missing out on his week-long residency with U2 on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to the disaster that was the release of Songs of Innocence to each band and family member and what they mean to him.

One thing that will now be question is how prepared Bono is going to be for U2’s massive “iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE” world tour slated to begin in mid-May. Many of the show have been sold out since tickets were announced which resulted in more dates being added.

Is Bono going to be in good health when May comes around? Will a fifth member be added to the band to play guitar on the songs Bono plays guitar on?

Those are just two of the questions, at present time, that we have.

But, it appear Bono is taking it all with a little bit of humor. In the post, he joked about not being able to play the guitar any longer.”The band have reminded me that neither they nor Western civilization are depending on this.”

Respect for having a sense of humor.

GWAR to Build Monument in Honor of Fallen Frontman

GWAR have revealed that they have plans to erect a monument in honor of their late frontman, Dave Brockie aka Oderus Urungus. Brockie sadly passed away last month, though at the time there was no confirmed cause of death.

In honor of him, the remaining members of GWAR have launched the Dave Brockie Foundation in order to help raise funds for the monument as well as to help promote music and performance in the arts.

In a video statement which can be seen below, the band reveal their plan for the monument and the new foundation they have founded. There is also a very touching part in which they reveal what Brockie would have thought of this. “Just face it – Oderus would order you to be present and pay tribute to Dave Murray Brockie, his own personal slave! Oderus did always consider you his children, but I know for a fact that Dave thought of our fans as his family.”

The current plan is to build the monument in Richmond, VA where Brockie lived and sadly passed away. Fans of the band who feel generous and would like to donate to the monument found, you can head on over to the official page for that on GWAR’s website.

As recent as January, Brockie was on Twitter telling fans to keep their eye open because there was a lot of good news coming their way, more specifically a tour in celebration of the band’s 30th anniversary and their yearly GWAR-B-Q which was slated to take place in August.

When Ke$ha had revealed that she was going into rehab, fans of the pop star were concerned and a little surprise by the news that came out of nowhere at the beginning of the month.

A close friend of the pop star’s took to her official Twitter to thanks fans on behalf of Ke$ha, who is currently at the rehab facility voided of all types of internet access. On the social media page, the friend wrote the following to her 3.53 million followers.

“This is Kesha’s friend. She asked me to tweet an update for her because she doesn’t have access to twitter right now. she says “THANK YOU. SOOO MUCH. I’m overwhelmed to tears by all of the love, letters, and support!! I’ll be back soon and better than ever. ohhh and she can’t believe Timber is still number one! “Fck YEAH animals! PARTY ON!!!!”

Pepe Sebert, the singer’s mother revealed that the tipping point in her daughter’s eating disorder was when her longtime producer, Dr. Luke allegedly called her a “fucking refrigerator” and urged her to lose a lot of weight following sometime off from tour.

“I’m a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I’ve found it hard to practice. I’ll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder… to learn to love myself again, exactly as I am,” Ke$ha said in a statement after being admitted to Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center.

Following her daughter’s check into the Knolls Treatment Center, Pepe Sebert, Ke$ha’s mother, followed in suit and admitted herself into the same facility for post-traumatic stress disorder.
