Marilyn Manson announces September release date for ‘We Are Chaos,’ debuts lead single

Surprise (or maybe not)! Marilyn Manson has a new record heading our way later this year.

On Wednesday (July 29), the shock rocker unveiled that he will be releasing a brand new collection of tunes in the fall.

Titled We are Chaos, the forthcoming release is due out September 11 through Loma Vista Recordings. The 10-track effort was produced by Manson and Shooter Jennings.

In a lengthy press statement, Manson reflects on the album, even giving some insight on his perception of the new tracks and the story behind them.

“When I listen to WE ARE CHAOS now, it seems like just yesterday or as if the world repeated itself, as it always does, making the title track and the stories seem as if we wrote them today,” the musician writes.

He continues: “This was recorded to its completion without anyone hearing it until it was finished. There is most definitely a side A and side B in the traditional sense. But just like an LP, it is a flat circle, and it’s up to the listener to put the last piece of the puzzle into the picture of songs.

This concept album is the mirror Shooter and I built for the listener—it’s the one we won’t stare into. There are so many rooms, closets, safes, and drawers. But in the soul or your museum of memories, the worst are always the mirrors. Shards and slivers of ghosts haunted my hands when I wrote most of these lyrics.

Making this record, I had to think to myself: ‘Tame your crazy, stitch your suit. And try to pretend that you are not an animal,’ but I knew that mankind is the worst of them all. Making mercy is like making murder. Tears are the human body’s largest export.”

Deep.

To coincide with the new album announcement, Manson debuted its first single and title track, “We are Chaos.” Watch the Matt Mahurin-directed (photographed and edited) video above.

We are Chaos is the follow-up to 2017’s Heaven Upside Down. Pre-orders are available on Manson’s website.

Slipknot, Guns N’ Roses, Disturbed lead Louder Than Life 2019 lineup

Louderthanlife_2019_header

Slipknot, Guns N’ Roses, and Disturbed are just some of the bands who will make their way to Kentucky in late September for the 2019 edition of Louder than Life. On Monday (April 8), Danny Wimmer Presents, the production company behind some of the country’s biggest music festivals, unveiled the full lineup for this year’s event.

Joining Slipknot, Guns N’ Roses, and Disturbed on this year’s roster are Godsmack, Ice Cube, A Day to Remember, Rob Zombie, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, Halestorm, Marilyn Manson, Staind, and more.

This year’s Louder than Life will be Guns N’ Roses’ first performance in 2019 as well as Staind’s first public performance in five years.

“We wouldn’t be living up to the name Louder than Life if we didn’t come back bigger and badder than ever, giving fans something they can’t see anywhere else,” festival producer Danny Wimmer said in a press statement.

“Getting Staind back together and plugged in on the main stage is something that I’ve been working on for years. These are songs that need to be heard, that fans have been dying to hear — Staind has been one of the most requested bands on our socials, and it’s an honor to be bringing their music back for the fans at Louder than Life.”

He continues: “Slipknot has always had some of the most loyal, rabid fans in rock, but now they are at that pivotal moment when they’ve crossed over into iconic status; Disturbed has had their best touring numbers to date this year; then top it off with one of the biggest rock bands of all time in Guns N’ Roses…this year is our most massive lineup yet.”

In total, over 50 bands will take over one of three stages during the three-day event.

In addition to the rocking lineup of acts, attendees will also get to enjoy award-winning bourbons, whiskey, spirits, craft beer, and “the best food Louisville has to offer.”

Tickets for Louder than Life are currently available on the festival’s website. As usual, they will be offering single-day passes, three-day passes, VIP packages as well as hotel and camping passes.

For fans attending Louder than Life’s sister festivals Hometown Rising Country Music & Bourbon Festival (Sept. 14 – 15) and Bourbon & Beyond (Sept. 20 – 22),  a special Trifesta pass is available for purchase. The Trifesta pass includes general admission into all three music festivals.

Louder than Life will make its grand debut at its new home of Highland Festival Grounds at KY Expo Center in Louisville during the weekend of Sept. 27-29.

Marilyn Manson announces tenth studio album, ‘SAY10’

manson

Marilyn Manson may be in the muddle of a massive summer tour, but don’t expect the ‘pale emperor’ to take a break anytime soon. On Monday (July 18), Manson announced plans to release a brand new record in early 2017. Fresh off the stage from receiving his “Icon Award” at the 2016 Alternative Press Music Awards, Manson revealed the news in a post-award interview.

About two minutes into the interview with Alternative Press’ Ryan J. Downey, Manson made gesture asking for a pen or marker. Someone quickly appears with a permanent marker which Manson took and began to write “SAY10” on his hand. Downey at first thought it was a pun on “Satan,” but Manson quickly corrected him confirming that his tenth studio album will in fact be titled SAY10.

“It’s worse than a pun. That is the new Marilyn Manson recording coming out Valentine’s Day,” the musician corrected. Watch Manson’s full seven-minute interview below.

Slipknot Announces Tour with Marilyn Manson and Of Mice & Men

image

After a massively successful co-headlining tour with Lamb of God last summer, Slipknot is ready to hit the road once more this year. On Tuesday (Feb. 16), the metal band announced plans to hit the touring circuit again this summer. The headlining gig will be shared with Marilyn Manson who also had a massively successful tour in early 2015 with The Smashing Pumpkins. Hitting the road alongside the two acts will be Of Mice & Men.

As of now, the official tour dates, venues, and when tickets will go on sale has not been revealed. That information will reportedly come at a later date, similar to what Disturbed and Breaking Benjamin are currently doing. But even without official dates or venues, the towns which the shows will visit have been announced. The list of tour stops can be seen below as well as the official tour poster.

The upcoming summer tour will be in support of Slipknot’s recently released album, .5: The Gray Chapter. As for Manson, he released his most recent album, Born Villain back in 2012. While Slipknot and Manson both had very successful touring seasons last year, the same cannot be said about Of Mice & Men.

Last summer, while finishing up their “Restoring Force Tour,” the band was forced to cancel the remaining dates when frontman Austin Carlile was hospitalized. Since his hospitalization in June, the singer has been very vigilant in updating fans about his condition with the band even confirming in August that they will be making a triumphant return in 2016. So far, things look good for Carlile and the rest of Of Mice & Men, except for that little electrocution incident last September.

Marilyn Manson and Billy Corgan Cover “Girls Just Wanna to Have Fun”

image

Well, this is definitely one way to have your tour remembered for years to come.

During the Nashville date of their joint tour, Marilyn Manson was joined on stage by Billy Corgan for a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” While that might not seem so out of the ordinary (the song was originally supposed to be sung by a guy), the duo decided to take a religious turn in how it was covered.

Manson was onstage dressed as a preacher for his own song, “Antichrist Superstar,” when Corgan joined him on stage dressed up as a nun. That’s when they began to sing a cover of the hit 80s song with a twist. Instead of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” the changed the lyrics to “Nuns Just Wanna Have Fun.”

It’s not like we expected any less from the two of them. Check out the fan shot video below and try not to laugh at it.

Marilyn Manson Unveils Video for “Binge”

Marilyn Manson’s new album has been out since January, and now, the shock rocker is giving fans the music video for one of the tracks off the recently released album.

Back in October, Manson unveiled the audio for “Third Day of a Seven Day Binge,” the lead single from his tenth studio album, The Pale Emperor. Today, more than eight months later, the music video for the lead single has been released.

Check out the clip for the song below.

Manson’s 2015 has so far been packed to the brim with engagements. Earlier in the year, he went out on his “Hell Not Hallelujah” tour in North America, appeared in some televisions programs as an actor and voice of a theme song, and will follow that up by going out on another North American tour, this time with former foe, Billy Corgan and his band, The Smashing Pumpkins.

“The End Times” tour kicked off this past Tuesday, July 7, at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, CA. The tour is scheduled to touchdown at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas tonight. For the complete list of upcoming tour stops, click here.

Marilyn Manson to Press Charges for Canadian Scuffle

MARILYN MANSON

Well, it’s been a hell of a week for Marilyn Manson.

During the weekend, the “Antichrist Superstar” was punched in the face after allegedly calling a man’s girlfriend a “bitch” at a Denny’s in Alberta, Canada.

The incident occurred after his concert at Lethbridge’s Enmax Center this past Saturday (April 4) during the Alberta stop of his “Hell Not Hallelujah” Tour in support of his recent album, The Pale Emperor.

When the news made headlines, via TMZ, the gossip site had reported that Manson instigated the fight, but turns out that the witness accounts of the scuffle were contradictory.

According to Manson’s manager, the musician was enjoying a meal at Denny’s when two women approached him to ask for photos. Manson agreed and was then punched in the face by one of the women’s boyfriend.

“He was being friendly with everyone, anyone who wanted a picture, he would give them a picture, anyone who wanted an autograph he would give them an autograph,” explains restaurant patron/witness Johnny Scott.

“They were just talking and the guy just punched him right in the face without any provocation. He just took the shot and ran off right away. Then, I remember seeing him in the parking lot ducking behind cars, he looked terrified.”

And now the guy has a real reason to be terrified. Unlike when the police arrived on the scene, Manson and his makeup artist, who was also hit in the scuffle, have decided to press charges against the assailant.

On a side note, don’t punch anyone especially a big time musician, in the face for no reason at all.
