Watch Patrick Stump become a power-hungry director in ‘Bishops Knife Trick’

It’s been months since anyone has really heard anything from Fall Out Boy. Between the new album, touring, and their privates lives, it’s safe to assume thing shave been crazy. Well, there’s no need to worry any longer because the quartet have returned.

On Tuesday (July 24), the Chicago-founded band unleashed the music video for their latest single, “Bishops Knife Trick.” Unlike many of their previous music videos, this one only features frontman Patrick Stump, a band of llamas, and some crew members. The five-minute clip features Stump playing the role of a power-hungry, rude, micromanaging music video director who is not impressed by the band.

If the premise of the clip sounds and looks oddly familiar, then you would be on to something; it’s a clear ode to their music video for 2007’s “Thnks Fr Th Mmrs.”

About four minutes into the clip, two of the llamas get into a massive fight and are swiftly kicked off the soundstage. Instead of calling it a day, Stump goes over to the piano and finishes the song (and then struggles to turn off the camera). For fans of the band, it’s funny to watch Stump, one of the nicest people you could possibly meet, screaming and losing his head over this llama band not listening to him.

“Bishops Knife Trick” is featured on Fall Out boy’s recently released record, MANIA. MANIA was released in January and swiftly earned the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Though the reviews were mostly mixed, MANIA went on to become Fall Out Boy’s fourth number one album.

In support of the album, Fall Out Boy previously announced plans to hit the road for a massive fall time tour. Watch Fall Out Boy spoof infomercials for new music video

With a little over a week before the release of their brand new album, Fall Out Boy has given fans something to hold them over during the next few days. On Thursday (Jan. 11), the Chicago-founded band unleashed the music video for their latest single, “Wilson (Expensive Mistakes).” Staying true to their philosophy of never taking anything too seriously, the music video finds the band running their own infomercial channel where they sell a slew of old memorabilia and even themselves.

The items that the band can be found selling include, but are not limited to frontman Patrick Stump’s suit from the “Dance, Dance” music video; Stump’s hand from the “Youngblood Chronicles”; Holy Water that is priced at $899.99, but reduced to $56.99; a limited supply of Fall Out Boy fidget spinners; and Franklin the sheep from the cover of Infinity on High.

As if the random items being sold weren’t wacky enough, the infomercial also lists the guys as items that are up for sale. If you purchase Stump for the prices of $736.99, you get a free fedora. Like all infomercials, there’s a phone number given throughout the video for viewers to call and purchase an item of their choosing.

As opposed to it being a fake number, viewers can actually call the number which will direct to them to an automated voice messaging system. The voice messaging system then allows the caller to pre-order the album or even hear a funny joke. How about that for a fun spin?

“Wilson (Expensive Mistakes)” will join previously released songs “The Last of the Real Ones,” “Young and Menace,” and “Champion” on MANIA. After pushing back the release date of the album, MANIA will finally see a release date of Jan. 19. Pre-orders for MANIA are currently available on the band’s website here.

Fall Out Boy celebrate Día de los Muertos in new music video

After spending the last week teasing fans about their brand new music video, Fall Out Boy has followed through and released the clip. On Wednesday (Nov. 15), the Chicago-founded band unleashed their Día de los Muertos-inspired music video for “Hold Me Tight or Don’t.”

The three-and-a-half minute clip finds the four-piece performing in the middle of a Día de los Muertos celebration. The four-piece is not only seen surrounded by beautifully dressed attendees, but also participating and interacting with the people. For those not familiar with Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), it is not the Mexican equivalent of Halloween as many believe it to be. Instead, the multi-day holiday (it takes place on Nov. 1 and 2) focuses on family and friends gathering to pray for and remember those who have died and help support their spiritual journey.

During a recent show in Dallas, Fall Out Boy all but confirmed the release of the Brendan Walter and Mel Soria-directed music video. The band was photographed performing on platform that was decorated as a marquee and the letters FOB at the top. On the marquee, the location and date was printed at the top while the date “11/15” and “HLD ME TGHT OR DNT” was printed below that.

Then, on Tuesday (Nov. 14), the band posted “On Wednesday, we’ll honor the dead. HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON’T midnight ET worldwide” confirming what fans had speculated when the image from the Dallas show was posted.

“Hold Me Tight or Don’t” will join previously released song “The Last of the Real Ones,” “Young and Menace,” and “Champion” on Fall Out Boy’s upcoming new album MANIA. Originally scheduled to be released on Sept. 15, 2017, Fall Out Boy recently confirmed that their seventh studio album will see a release date of Jan. 19, 2018. Pre-orders for MANIA are currently available on the band’s website here.

Currently, Fall Out Boy is in the middle of their “MANIA” North American tour. Tonight, the group will perform at the Viejas Arena in San Diego, California. The complete itinerary for the “MANIA” North American tour can be seen here.

Watch Fall Out Boy’s llama-centric video for ‘The Last of the Real Ones’

After breaking the news to fans that their new album will no longer see a fall 2017 release date, Fall Out Boy has decided to pay their fans back for their patience by unveiling another new song from the record. On Thursday (Sept. 14), the Chicago-founded band unleashed the music video for their new single, “The Last of the Real Ones.” The almost-four-minute clip begins with a red Ford Mustang pulling onto a dark, deserted dirt road with only the headlights illuminating the area. From the vehicle emerge two llamas (not real llamas) as they make their way to an undisclosed area nearby.

As the camera shifts, the viewer watches as the llamas light a fire on the ground before turning around to walk back to the awaiting vehicle. As the llamas return to the car, they open the trunk to reveal Fall Out Boy bassist, Pete Wentz, bounded and gagged in the trunk. Things don’t end well for the musician as the llamas take a shovel and begin to beat him with it. Check out the music video for “The Last of the Real Ones” above.

Earlier this week, the band posted a cryptic, eight-second clip on social media which left fans scratching their head momentarily. The clip featured a white card with the word MANIA printed at the top and the line “I wonder if your therapist knows everything about me?” written in the middle. As it turns out, the line is a direct lyric from the at-the-time-not-confirmed new song.

“The Last of the Real Ones” will join “Young and Menace” and current single “Champion” on Fall Out boy’s upcoming new album, MANIA. Instead of being released this Friday (Sept. 15), MANIA will now be released on Jan. 19, 2018.

In addition to the new song, the bans also announced on Twitter the official launch of their Fall Out Boy Fund. The purpose of the fund is to help out their hometown of Chicago by giving back. When tickets for the group’s upcoming “MANIA Tour” went on sale in April, the four-piece revealed that $1 from every ticket sale would go towards their fund. According to their social media page, their first mission is to provide over 20,000 elementary school kids with food education. The mission will be a joint effort between the band and Oakland food start-up, Back to the Roots. For more information about the Fall Out Boy Fund, head on over to the band’s website here.

In support of MANIA’s release, Fall Out Boy previously announced tour dates which will find the band performing across North America during the months of October and November. The full list of upcoming tour dates can be found here.
