Listen to Bayside Call Out Certain People on “Dancing Like an Idiot”

Bayside aren’t exactly shy when it comes to calling people out. We got to witness that first hand/ front row during Warped Tour last year when a large chunk of their audience decided it would be a lot more fun to crowdsurf and distract everyone, including the band members, rather than watch the show. (The eye rolls and frustrated looks were amazing.)

In honor of the band’s 15th birthday, they will be re-issuing 2014’s Cult with a new song titled “Dancing Like an Idiot” which they have now released for fans to stream and it’s not exactly a sweet as candy song; it’s scathing.

According to Bayside frontman Anthony Raneri, the song is a dig at all those artists that try to scam their fans just because they can. He makes reference to those who write “large curses on t-shirts and sell[ing] it to a kid cause they know the kid is stupid enough to buy it.”

“You’re telling them it’s cool to buy a t-shirt to piss their parents off. There’s nothing cool about that—that’s mall rebellion,” Raneri explained to Billboard.

“That’s not real rebellion. I grew up liking The Smiths, liking Nirvana…I fucking hated Guns N’ Roses. It was bullshit, misogynistic, it was fake rebellion—nothing is more corporate and commercialized. “

Check out the lyric video for the song below.

The Cult re-issue will be available on March 3 through Hopeless Records just in time for the band’s 15th Birthday Tour with Senses Fail, Man Overboard, and Seaway which starts on March 5 in Orlando.

Man Overboard Release Track from Split with Senses Fail

Senses Fail released their contribution to the split they will be releasing with fellow New Jersey band, Man Overboard on Tuesday, and now, it’s time for Man Overboard to do the same.

Today, the band premiered their new song, titled “One Fixed Point” over at The Huffington Post. During that premiere, guitarist Justin Collier explained to the publication the origins of the song which we find out isn’t all that new after all.

“‘One Fixed Point’ is a really old Man Overboard song that we always liked but never had a place for. When Buddy from Senses Fail approached us about doing this split we were going through our trove of unused songs and came back to this… It actually didn’t even have a name. We gave it an overhaul, gave it name and here it is.”

Here it is indeed. Check out the song below.

The upcoming split is set to be released on Mar. 3 through each band’s respected record label (Pure Noise Records for Senses Fail and Rise Records for Man Overboard). Coincidentally enough, or not, the split will be released a couple of days before both groups are scheduled to hit the road with Bayside for their “Fifteen Year Birthday Tour.”

Senses Fail Release New Song from Joint Man Overboard Split

Senses Fail announced a new song would be released today and now, it’s ready to be heard.

The New Jersey-based band released a new song today titled “All You Need is Already Within You.” The song will be featured on the band’s recently announced split with soon-to-be-tour mates Man Overboard. Both bands will be heading out on Bayside’s “Fifteen Year Birthday Tour” in March.

Check out the song below.

In a cool turn of events, the split will feature two new songs for each band as well as a cover straight from the other band’s discography. As seen below, Senses Fail chose to cover “Real Talk” from Man Overboard’s debut album of the same name while Man Overboard chose “You’re Cute When You Scream” from Senses Fail’s debut full length, Let It Enfold You.

The split will be released on March 3 while their new album, Pull The Thorns From Your Heart, is scheduled to be released sometime this Summer.

Man Overboard to Begin Recording New Album

It’s been over a year since Man Overboard released their last studio album, Heart Attack, and in a less than a week, the New Jersey-based band will be releasing a five song EP titled Passing Ends through their own record label, Lost Tape Collective.

In support of the EP’s release, the band sat down to speak with Alternative Press at their headquarters about everything that has been going on with them, including: postponing their UK Heart Attack tour due to vocalist/bassist Nik Bruzzese’s ACL surgery, the misfortune of their supporting act (Hostage Calm) disbanding, and if they think they will always refer to themselves as a pop-punk band.

With all that good information, one of the biggest pieces of information came when the band revealed that they were currently working on their fourth studio album already.

“We’re writing and demoing songs right now. We’re gonna go and record it next year,” guitarist Justin Collier said.

“We’re trying to do everything the way we used to as far as hanging out in Nik’s studio a lot which is how we started our band,” vocalist/guitarist Zac Eisenstein said.

“We’re just trying not to do anything different, but we’re getting stuff done [and that’s why I came here tonight]. We’re gonna work on some ideas. Without process, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

But for those across the pond who were worrying that Man Overboard won’t make it there next year for those postponed dates, don’t fret because the band confirmed that the will be finding an act to take the dearly departed Hostage Calm’s place.

“We’re going to replace Hostage Calm with another band; we don’t know who yet. Everything will come together,” Collier assured. Postponed tour dates can be seen below.
