Watch: CHVRCHES explore young love and adventure in ‘Graffiti’

Months after releasing their much-anticipated third studio album, CHVRCHES have returned with a brand new music video for another track off the recently released record. On Tuesday (Oct. 9), the Scottish band unleashed the clip for their latest single, “Graffiti.” The almost-four-minute video follows two teenagers as they hang out and go on adventures in a one-day span.

The viewer watches as the pair ride a bike on deserted road, relax by a tree in a forest, listen to music and eat pizza in one of their houses, and chill (and float) inside of a creepily dark farmhouse. If you had any expectations of seeing any of the members of the band in the clip, then you may be let down. The complete music video centers around the two protagonists and their one-day adventure. “Graffiti” is featured on CHVRCHES recently released record, Love is Dead. “Graffiti” joins previously released singles “Get Out,” “My Enemy,” “Never Say Die,” and “Miracle” on the group’s third studio effort.

Love is Dead was released in late May via Virgin EMI. Though it was met with mixed reactions from fans and critics alike, the album reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard‘s Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums chart. Love is Dead peaked right outside the Billboard 200 chart’s top ten, earning the No. 11 spot during the week of June 9, 2018.

Currently, the trio are in the midst of wrapping up their North American tour in support of Love is Dead. Tonight (Oct. 10), the three-piece will hit the stage at The Tabernacle in Atlanta. The list of remaining tour dates can be found here.

Watch CHVRCHES navigate a dystrophic nightmare in ‘Miracle’

Earlier this month, CHVRCHES premiered another new song from their much-anticipated third studio album, Love is Dead. On Wednesday (April 25), the Scottish trio decided to gift fans the official music video for the record’s latest single, “Miracle.” The barely three-and-a-half-minute clip finds frontwoman Lauren Mayberry in the middle of what appears to be a cross between a gang war and a dystrophic nightmare.

The clip, which was shot in one take, follows Mayberry as she tries to avoid getting involved in all the bloodshed and fighting, but no matter what she does, she still winds up getting sucked into the fighting.

The music video was directed by Warren Fu who previously worked with the group on their “Clearest Blue” video.

“We’re all huge fans of Warren’s work and were so excited when he agreed to be the creative director on this record,” says Mayberry. “We met him when he directed the video for our song ‘Clearest Blue,’ and it’s so cool to see the world you imagined come to life through his work.”

“Miracle” will join previously released tracks “Get Out,” “My Enemy,” and “Never Say Die” on CHVRCHES impending new album. Love is Dead will be released on May 25 through the band’s longtime home of Glassnote Records.

In support of the new set of tunes, the band announced earlier this week plans to hit the road during the summer and fall months. The complete list of upcoming tour dates can be found here.

CHVRCHES announce North American fall tour

CHVRCHES’ new album will soon be out and it looks like the group is already making plans to take the new set of tunes out on the road. On Monday (April 23), the Scottish trio formally announced plans to hit the North American touring circuit throughout the summer months and well into the fall months. The upcoming trek will officially kick off on June 3 with the band’s appearance at the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York.

Following several apeparances at music festivals around the country including Lollapalooza, Hinterland Music Festival, and Outside Lands, the group will take a month off. On Sept. 20, the trio will resume their touring schedule at the Open Air Theatre in San Diego. The tour will then conclude a month later on Oct. 20 at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston. Tickets for the newly announced show will go on sale beginning this Friday, April 27.

The lengthy tour will be in support of CHVRCHES’ upcoming new album Love is Dead. Love is Dead is set to be released on May 25 through the band’s longtime home of Glassnote Records.
