Marina to release ‘Love + Fear Acoustic’ later this month

Marina is not entirely done giving back to her patient fans.

On Wednesday (Sept. 4), the Welsh singer unveiled plans to release an acoustic album. Titled LOVE + FEAR ACOUSTIC, the five-song record features new renditions of songs originally featured on her recently released record. The reworked songs are “True,” “Superstar,” “Karma,” “No More Suckers,” and the double album’s lead single “Orange Trees.”

LOVE + FEAR ACOUSTIC is due out Sept. 13 through Neon Gold/Atlantic Records. Pre-orders for the album are currently available here.

The acoustic EP will arrive right before the singer hits the road for her massive North American LOVE + FEAR tour. In February, she announced the fall time itinerary. The upcoming trek kicks off on Sept. 10 at Rebel Toronto in Toronto and concludes a month later on Oct. 9 at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver. The full list of tour dates can be found here.

At the time of publication, several shows have been classified as sold out. Those shows include the first stop of the outing in Toronto (Rebel Toronto on Sept. 10), Los Angeles (the Greek Theatre on Oct. 4), San Francisco (The Masonic on Oct. 5), and Seattle (Paramount Theatre on Oct. 8).

Support will come from Daya (Sept. 10-18), LPX (Sept. 20-24), Broods (Sept. 26th-Oct. 1), and Allie X (Oct. 4-9).

LOVE + FEAR is the much-anticipated follow-up to Marina’s 2015 release, FROOT.

Marina addresses what it’s like ‘To Be Human’ in new single

Marina’s new double album is a few weeks away from being released, and now the singer is gifting fans another music video to hold them over until then. On Tuesday (April 9), the Welsh singer unleashed the music video for her latest single, “To Be Human.”

“Thematically, ‘To Be Human’ sums up the headspace that I’ve come from in the past three years,” Marina reveals about the song.

“The subject matter is really important. I talk about unity, name-checking a lot of places around the world to create this picture of humanity because in our current political climate we are constantly being made to see different people as ‘other’ and I hate that.”

Marina has returned with another new single from her impending fourth studio album, and it sounds like it could easily find a home on your summer playlist. On Friday (March 22), the Welsh singer shared “Orange Trees,” her third single from her forthcoming double album.

The Sophie Muller-directed clip is described as “a colorful, ethereal energy, capturing the mood and themes of ‘Orange Trees’ through a summery Mexican backdrop.” The description holds true as the viewer watches Marina in a beautiful coastal paradise surrounded by colorful scenery as she relaxes with some of her friends on the Mexican coast.

“I wrote ‘Orange Trees’ about the island that my family and I are from in Greece,” Marina writes. “It’s called Lefkada and it’s my favourite place in the world… I always feel at peace there. It’s like my body/ biology recognises I’m back home.”
