Riot Fest Reveals New Denver Location

After having issues with their venue last year, Riot Fest Denver has officially found a new home, at least for the 2015 festivities.

This year, the festival will call the National Western Complex home during the weekend of Aug. 28-30. Also, the name of the event will be getting an update to match. Unlike last year, Riot Fest Denver will now be known as Riot Fest & Rodeo.

Check out the official flyer below.

Early bird tickets will go on sale tomorrow (April 24) at noon, MST on Riot Fest’s website.

Last year, the Denver incarnation of the annual music festival had issues securing a location after Arapahoe County refused to let the weekend-long festival secure May Farms in Byers, CO for a second time. The county refused the petition citing “traffic impacts and public safety concerns” during the last-minute negotiations.

Instead, the festival was moved to the Sports Authority Field at Mile High where some who had made camping arrangements were not given the similar accommodations like the previous location. But that’s a thing of the past now. The National Western Complex will be allowing fans to stay in RVs on site.

Rumor has it there might even be a barbecue cook-off and other new events this year.

Hey Riot Fest, where can we sign up?

Black Veil Brides Frontman Calls Out Heckler

We know that there are times when some of our favorite bands decided to head out on tour with certain bands that we can do without. It’s just part of the music world.

Lately, with social media and people trying to push the limit, “fans” have begun to voice their distaste for those bands and some of band members have had enough of it which leads us to what happened during yesterday’s Black Veil Brides’ show in Vancouver.

The band, who are currently on tour with Memphis May Fire, were on stage when some dude in the audience started heckling them. After having enough, frontman Andy Biersack stopped the show to berate the guy, who kept screaming for Memphis May Fire to return.

In the two videos posted below, You can see Biersack yell the guy, call him out, throw the microphone at him to speak his mind, and then launch at the crowd.

Yeah, insane.

While we do not agree with either side, if the guy did not want to see Black Veil Brides, he should have just left the show after Memphis May Fire instead of sticking around.

What did he think was going to happen, MMF was going to come back on stage just to appease him? Come on, dude, get real.

Katy Perry “Roars” the Audience to Life During Super Bowl Halftime

(USA TODAY Sports Images)

Katy Perry blew the retractable roof off of the University of Phoenix Stadium field in Glendale, AZ during her highly anticipated Super Bowl Halftime Show.

We might be a little bias with our opinion of the show, but it’s probably been one of the best from the past couple of years. With a setlist that covered some of her biggest hits including a special rendition of “I Kissed a Girl” with Lenny Kravitz and inviting Missy Elliot to the stadium grounds to perform some of her own songs, it’s was all around awesome and rocking.

Oh yeah, and there were fireworks, a floating comet, LED lights in beach balls and some palm tree, some killer visual effects on the grounds and beach balls and sharks with massive smiley faces (and an outfit that might become 2015’s Halloween costume).

Check out the performance below.

Saosin Perform New Song During Recent Show

Saosin’s reunion last year at Skate and Surf has led to major steps forward with former vocalist Anthony Green rejoining the band for a few shows.

Late last year, the band announced the former singer would be joining them for four tour stops in early 2015, what fans probably didn’t expect was for a new song to debut live during the short reunion tour.

During their stop at The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA this past Monday, the band debuted a new song live and thanks to someone backstage, we have not only the new song performed live, but we also have the complete show. The new song can be heard around the 12:30 mark.

Warning, it’s a little hard to hear Green’s vocals over all the instrumentals.

As if that wasn’t enough, somewhere in the video, Green tells the audience that Saosin will have some “new shit for you guys real soon.”

Cue the excitement of fans of the group with Green as vocalist.

While we aren’t sure about a lot things like the name of the new song (which marks the third new song with Green the band has performed), when this projected new shit will be released, or even if they will head out on tour once again, it’s something for die-hards to look forward to.

Watch Gerard Way Perform Two “New” Songs Live

It’s been almost a year since former My Chemical Romance frontman, Gerard Way, announced that he would be pursuing a solo career with a solo on the horizon.

Time has quickly passed and now as a treat, the singer has been giving fans the chance to listen to two “new” songs that he’s had hiding up his sleeve (or funky socks. You’d understand if you follow him on Twitter).

As the singer has revealed, one of the two encore songs is a track titled “Don’t Try” which was originally intended to be featured on his debut album, Hesitant Alien. Though the song did not make the final, now it’s making a come back during his encores and it seems fans are enjoying it so much that Way is entertaining the idea of releasing it.

How, when and, if are still up in the air.

But “Don’t Try” shouldn’t be getting all the attention because a true new song has also been making its debut during the encore set. Way has confirmed that a new song titled “Kid Nothing” has been performed during the encore set with its official debut happening in London on Jan. 23.

Check out some fan shot video from way’s show last night in Paris (Jan. 18).

Watch Anthony Green Cover Deftones, Vance Joy

Just a couple of weeks after wrapping up a tour with Circa Survive, Anthony Green headed back out on the road for a couple of days with Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties (Dan Campbell of The Wonder Years) and I Can Make a Mess (Ace Enders of The Early November), and Elder Brother for a short holiday tour.

During the Boston stop of the tour at the Paradise on Dec. 26, Green treated the audience to not one, but two covers that evening.

The first of the two songs was a cover of the Deftones’ “Diamond Eyes” from 2010’s Diamond Eyes. The second song was Vance Joy’s “Riptide” from his debut record, Dream Your Life Away.

The “Riptide” cover seemed to be a theme during the holiday tour for Green because there’s footage of him covering the song again during the tour’s stop at the Starland Ballroom in New Jersey on Dec. 30.

Check out the video of both songs being covered in Boston below.

Green will once again hit the road for his four-day stint fronting Saosin once again. Those upcoming tour dates can be seen below.

Jan 19 – Santa Ana, CA @The Observatory
Jan 23 – Dallas,TX @ Southside Ballroom
Jan 24 – Austin,TX @ Emo’s
Jan 25 – Houston,TX @ House of Blues

The Starting Line to Release New Album in 2015?

Could a new Starting Line album be on the horizon for 2015? According to Property of Zack, it just might be.

During the band’s annual holiday show at the Trocadero in Philadelphia last night (Dec. 26), frontman Kenny Vasoli, allegedly confirmed that the band would be releasing new material in the new year. They then followed the confirmation up by performing a new song live; no title was give for said song.

Thanks to a member of the POZ family, they recorded said new song which can be seen, and heard, in a low quality video below.

The new album will be the band’s long-awaited follow-up to 2007’s Direction which is great news for those who have been waiting seven years for that.

But then again, maybe we should not be getting ahead of ourselves with thoughts of new music and even a nationwide tour until we have video or social media confirmation that a new album is in the works and when the projected release date is.

Bring Me the Horizon to Release Live CD/DVD in March

Bring Me the Horizon have given fans something cool to look forward to next year; an upcoming live CD/DVD. The live DVD was recorded at the band’s Wembley Arena show this past Friday which the band told fans about via Twitter.

But if playing a show in one of the biggest venues in London wasn’t cool enough, the band also revealed to fans that if they pre-order the bundle before Valentine’s Day, their names would appear in the booklet that comes with the record.

For those not able to make it to the show, we’re going to spoil the surprise of the setlist with the full list written below.

As for the CD/DVD, it will reportedly be released in March of 2015.

Less Than Jake and Reel Big Fish Team Up for Upcoming Tour

Watch out America, because the ska bands are taking over! Well, at least for a little while early next year.

Less Than Jake announced earlier in the day plans to hit the road in early next year across the United States. Going along for the ride and as a co-headliner will be Reel Big Fish while Authority Zero will be their special guest.

The tour is scheduled to begin on Jan. 15 in Denver at the Ogden Theater and will wrap up on Feb. 20 at the House of Blues in West Hollywood.

Complete tour date for the month and a half-long trek can be seen below on the official flyer for the gigs.

Less Than Jake just wrapped up a short Canadian tour with Big D and the Kids Table and the Interrupters last week which included a couple of U.S. stops. They also recently announced plans to hit the road with Yellowcard, their 2014 Vans Warped Tour tour mates, across the pond beginning in early March.

Pretty much, LTJ will be hopping from one tour to another. And that’s how you rack up 365 shows on the Warped Tour.

Madden Brothers Postpone Upcoming Tour

Anyone looking forward to the Madden Brothers hitting the road later this month have sadly been given bad news about it; the tour has been postponed.

Writing to fans on their social media accounts, the brothers revealed that their plans on hitting the road to promote their album, Greetings From California had been postponed until 2015.

In the statement, they explain that, “Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will need to postpone the US tour dates until 2015. We appreciate all your support this year and hope to see all of you in the new year! All refunds can be made at the point of purchase. #vibes”

The Madden Brothers, which like their act’s name states is a new project from Benji and Joel Madden formerly of Good Charlotte. The brothers released Greetings From California back in September and this US tour would be their first time heading out on a nationwide tour for it. Front Porch Step and Keta were suppose to, or probably still will be, supporting them.
