The latest ‘Lion King’ trailer introduces us to Scar, Timon and Pumbaa

The upcoming live-action remake of “The Lion King” is 100 days away from hitting theaters and Disney is celebrating it by giving fans another look at the flick. On Wednesday (April 10), the House of Mouse unleashed the second official trailer for the Jon Favreau-directed film.

The almost-two-minute clip begins with lion cubs Simba and Nala wandering into the elephant graveyard after Mufasa gave Simba specific orders not to go into that area. As the footage plays, the viewer hears Simba’s uncle Scar begin his speech about “life not being fair.” As the voiceover plays, we finally get to see Scar (who was missing from the first trailer) in all his dark glory as well as his somewhat loyal but overall idiotic hyena henchmen.

As if seeing Scar and the hyenas weren’t enough, we finally get to see Timon, Pumbaa, and that heart-wrenching stampede scene that resulted in Mufasa’s death and gallons of tears (yeah, we still get choked up about it).

But it’s not all sad and depressing scenes. The clip also includes Simba’s growing up sequence while in the care of Timon and Pumbaa and Nala and Simba meeting for the first time as adult lions.

There’s also a special little treat at the end of the trailer with Timon and Pumbaa giving us a snippet of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.”

Classic.

“The Lion King” will roar its way to theaters on July 19.

Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ trailer gives us some iconic tunes

The newest trailer for the live-action remake of “Aladdin” is finally here!

On Tuesday (March 12), the latest official trailer for the upcoming Disney flick was unleashed during Good Morning America. Unlike the first trailer that made its debut in late 2018, this two-and-a-half-minute teaser gives fans what they’ve been patiently waiting for; the music.

Mirroring the 1992 animated film, the trailer begins with everyone’s favorite street rat running away from the palace guards when he comes face to face with Princess Jasmine.

Fast forward a bit, and we watch as Jafar strikes a deal with Aladdin in which our favorite black-and-red-sporting villain promises to make the latter “rich enough to impress a princess.” Since he is infatuated with the princess, Aladdin agrees to go into the Cave of Wonders for Jafar to procure the magic lamp.

The new footage also gives viewers a better look at Will Smith’s Genie as well as Abu, Carpet, and the inside of the Cave of Wonders (and all its treasures).

If that wasn’t enough, the clip also features snippets of two of the film’s biggest hits, “Friend Like Me” and “A Whole New World.”

Watch: Disney releases first live action ‘Lion King’ trailer

“Everything the light touches is our kingdom.”

If that opening line did not send chills down, your spine, then the first look at Disney’s upcoming live action remake of “The Lion King” may do the trick. On Thursday (Nov. 22), the House of Mouse unleashed the first trailer for their upcoming Jon Favreau-directed film.

Making its debut during the Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins football game, the minute-and-a-half teaser introduces the viewer to several important characters from the film including Simba, Rafiki, and of course Mufasa.

The newly released clip is a shot-by-shot recreation of the animated film’s 1994 trailer and even includes the movie’s iconic Elton John and Tim Rice-penned song, “The Circle of Life.”

If watching all the animals from the Pride Lands gather to witness lion cub Simba’s debut wasn’t enough to get you to say “aw,” wait until Mufasa’s spirit returns to adult lion Simba, urging him to “remember.”

Missing from the clip is the film’s protagonist and worst uncle ever, Scar, but we’re sure we’ll be seeing a lot of him as more trailers make their way online.

Get a glimpse of Agrabah, the Cave of Wonders in Disney’s first teaser trailer for ‘Aladdin’

With the success of the live action versions of  “Cinderella,” “The Jungle Book,” and “Beauty and the Beast,” it was only a matter of time before Disney went digging into their archives to pull out another animated film to bring to life. Last year, the House of Mouse formally announced that 1992’s “Aladdin” would be the next animated film to get the live-action treatment.

On Friday (Oct. 12), the media giants unveiled the first teaser trailer for the upcoming new film. The minute-and-a-half teaser begins with a shot of a desert as the shadow of a bird is seen on the sand. The camera follows the bird which turns out to be Jafar’s trusty parrot/snitch, Iago. The camera continues to follow Iago as he soars above Agrabah to another desolate area of the desert. About 45 seconds in, the voice of the Cave of Wonders is heard reciting one of the most famous lines from the original film.

“Only one may enter here,” proclaims the tiger-headed sand creation. “One whose worth lies far within. A diamond in the rough.”

As the Cave of Wonders recites the lines, a shot of three people standing in front of the entrance can be seen. By the headpiece one of them is wearing, we can assume that the person is the Royal Vizier/the film’s villain Jafar while one of the others is the film’s protagonist, Aladdin.

At the one-minute mark, a slowed-down, instrumental version of Genie’s classic song “Friend Like Me” begins to play in the background as the viewer gets their first look at not only the inside of the Cave of Wonders, but also our street rat/hero, Aladdin.

Check out the teaser trailer for the upcoming film above.
