iHeartRadio Festival Announce First Batch of Artists

iHeartRadio have revealed some of the artists who will be taking the stage during this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival in September.

The festival, which will be celebrating its fourth year, announced the first batch of artists which include many of those that are constantly on a loop on majority of the iHeartRadio stations. Ariana Grande, Steve Aoki, Iggy Azalea, Calvin Harris, Lorde, Nicki Minaj, One Direction, Paramore, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Usher, Eric Church, Train and the Zac Brown Band, Coldplay, Bastille have been confirmed to perform already with many more to be announced in the near future.

Though the posters for the two night event claim that “The Legend Returns,” we still don’t understand that since most of these artists have performed on at least one of the “music” awards that have already happened this year.

One thing we can say might be legendary is the fact that they somehow managed to get Mötley Crüe on the line-up for the event. Mötley Crüe announced earlier this year that they will be officially calling it a day at the end of their upcoming tour, so for them to be playing a festival like iHeartRadio is a pretty big departure from the hair metal fans that usually flock to their shows.

Who else is wondering how One Direction/Ariana Grande fans will feel about the infamous band?

Anyways, the iHeartRadio Festival is set to take place on September 19th and 20th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The show will be broadcast a week or so after the actual event on The CW, so keep and eye out for that in case you can’t make it to Vegas.

Britney Spears to Extend Las Vegas Stay

Good news for Britney Spears and her fans who have no been able to head out to Sin City to see her residential stay; she’s reportedly in talks to extend her show.

The show which is titled “Britney Spears: Piece of Me” began its residential stay at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s Axis theater back in December and now the pop star is being given the opportunity to extend her two-year stay to three years. If she chooses to stay in Vegas performing her 90-minute shows, Spears will reportedly make $12 million.

According to both New York Daily News and TMZ, she is about to close the deal extending her stay until December 2016.

“Britney Spears has been a great success for the company and will be extended, if she wants to do it, and I cannot see why not,” Caesars Palace president Gary Selesner told the New York Daily News. “She has been filling out the place every night, and she is enjoying it and is in good health.”

According to TMZ, Spears made $30 million when she signed on for the “Piece of Me” show, which by contract means she will perform 50 shows between 2014 and 2015. As of now, no other details have been given about the impending contract especially how many show she will have to perform with the addition of another year.

Britney Spears Reveals New Album’s Name

It’s been a few weeks since Britney Spears released the music video for her new song “Work Bitch” and over a month since she announced tat she would be releasing a new album later this year.

Up until now, we have not had the official name of the album so for all purposes it had been called Britney’s eighth untitled album. Today, while paying a visit to Capital FM, the pop star revealed the name of the new album and it looks like it’s similar to 2001’s title.

Spears revealed that her upcoming album which is schedule to be released on December 3 will be titled, Britney Jean. Spear’s explains in the interview with the radio station that the album is “more personal” which led to her to name it after what her family and friends call her.

“It’s a personal album,” says Spears, “and all my family, they always call me Britney Jean — it’s like a term of endearment, and I just wanted to share that with my fans.”

Check out the reveal right here:

Britney Jean will be the pop star’s follow-up to 2011’s Femme Fatale. But while the new album was big enough news for fans, some are still reeling about the fact that she has taken a residency in Las Vegas; signing on to perform at the Planet Hollywood.

Her show, Britney Spears: Piece of Me is slated to start in December 27, 2013, just enough tine for audience members to learn all her new songs, and will run for two years, so if you want to check out her show in Vegas, head on over and get some tickets before they sell out.

Fun. Meets Queen at the iHeartRadio Music Festival

Fun. frontman, Nate Ruess might have been suffering from some vocal conditions last week which left him unavailable to perform at a festival with Mumford & Sons, but it looks like things are looking up just in time for the singer.

It was reported that the “We Are Young” crooner and the rest of his band, will be appearing with classic rock icons, Queen, during the iHeartRadio Music Festival tomorrow. The show, which has now become an annual event with some of the biggest artists in music taking to the stage will take place at MGM Grand Garden Arena, will be taking over Las Vegas for the next two days.

Billboard reported that an inside source had seen Ruess rehearsing with Brian May and Roger Taylor on some tracks including “Somebody to Love” and “Fat Bottomed Girls” this past Tuesday, September 17.

Ruess isn’t the only musician that has joined Queen in the past; one of the most famous musicians to have joined the band is former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert. For quite sometime, the former reality TV show contestant had been filling the frontman position and will be resurrecting that role during Queen’s performance at the music festival.

The festival is slated to start tomorrow and for the first time ever, will feature a Fan Village officially named  the iHeartRadio Music Festival Village which will include performances by Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne, AWOLNATION, Pete Tong, Twenty One Pilots and Jason Derulo.

Friday’s performers on the main stage will include  Katy Perry, Elton John, Keith Urban, J. Cole, Muse, Tiesto, Chris Brown and Benny Benassi while Saturday’s line up will feature  Paul McCartney, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Miley Cyrus, Tim McGraw and Bruno Mars and many more.
