KROQ Announces Line Up for 2014 Almost Acoustic Christmas

KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas concert is about to celebrate a milestone this year; its 25th anniversary.

So how else would you celebrate an anniversary that big than with a massive line-up of artists to take the stage at the yearly event.

The Los Angeles-based radio station announced earlier in the day their line-up which includes U2, System of a Down, the Smashing Pumpkins, Tears for Fears, Weezer, Modest Mouse, Interpol, Alt-J, and Incubus.

But, that’s not all. Linkin Park, Rise Against, Imagine Dragons, Fall Out Boy, Bush, Royal Blood, Vance Joy, and Walk the Moon will also take the stage during the two-day festival.

KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas will take place December 13-14 at the Forum in Inglewood, CA.

Tickets for the show are set to go on sale this Friday, Nov. 14 at Noon PT on Ticketmaster. Tickets for the show can set you back anywhere from $75-$150, but with all those performances, we’re pretty sure it will be money well spent.

Weezer Perform “Go Away” with Bethany Cosentino

During one of their many “Weezer Wednesdays” videos, Weezer released a track titled, “Go Away” which featured vocals by Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino.

While visiting KROQ on Friday to perform some of their tracks at the radio station’s RedBull Soundspace, Weezer was joined by Cosentino for a stripped down version of their song.

Watch the acoustic version of the track below.

Weezer’s new album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End is set to be released this Wednesday, Oct. 7 and will of course, feature the song with Cosentino. Blink 182 Announce California Anniversary Shows

Blink 182

Blink-182 were dropping hints all weekend about a big announced that would be made today and that they did.

During the weekend, the band had been posting notes on their Facebook page with the background of their 2003 Untitled album’s art. All the notes ended up being the titles from the album which will turn ten next month.  Once all the titles on the stationary were released, the band went on to debut another cryptic note which had a specific time as well as the name of one of California’s famous stations, KROQ.

Turns out, all the hints were proof that the band would be celebrating the tenth year anniversary of that album, but unlike most of the assumptions, it would not be a full, North American tour. It was revealed that they would be performing at the Hollywood Palladium on November 6 and 7 where they will perform the album, from beginning to end.

But that’s not all. It was also revealed that they would be performing at the Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ on November 7th at 1 p.m., for those that are able to attend or are in the neighborhood.

Tickets for the Palladium are set yo go on sale this Friday, October 25 through Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. so if you really want to see them, you might want to be on your computer ready to purchase them way before that. As for tickets to the Red Bull Sound Space, those tickets cannot be purchased, but you can always watch the performance live at; the performance will also be available to watch up to 24 hours after the live broadcast.
