Download Festival is ready to return and rock your socks off!

On Monday (Aug. 3), the United Kingdom-based music festival announced its first wave of performers for the 2021 incarnation of the event.

KISS, System of a Down, Biffy Clyro, A Day to Remember, Korn, Deftones, Black Veil Brides, the Pretty Reckless, Killswitch Engage, The Darkness, and a slew more are set to take over four different stages during the first weekend of June 2021.

At the end of the weekend-long festivities, over 70 bands would have descended and performed at the annual event.

Like every other music festival, Download had to cancel this year’s show due to the worldwide pandemic. This year’s event would have included performances from Iron Maiden, System of a Down, and KISS.

Thankfully, the festival was able to once again secure KISS and System of a Down as headliners for next year’s gig.

“2020 has been a tough year for us all, and we were beyond gutted not to be able to experience Download Festival with you all,” Download Festival’s Andy Copping said in a press statement.

“We gave you Download TV to reflect on memories of the past, and what the festival means to all of us.

Download 2021 is going to be something special and go down in the history books as when the Download family reunited. We’re going to be working hard behind the scenes to make Download 2021 an unforgettable experience and a celebration of the festival we all love.”

“We’re disappointed we weren’t able to make it over this year, but we’re looking forward to next,” System of a Down’s Shavo Odadjian said.

“Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Mostly, we all just want to make sure everyone is provided with a safe and secure environment, so we were prepared to wait as long as we needed to.”

Download Festival will return to its home of Donington Park during the weekend of June 4-6, 2021. General tickets for the three-day show will go on sale this Friday, Aug. 7 at 9 a.m. on the festival’s website.

The first wave of performers can be found below.

Killswitch Engage and August Burns Red to embark on 2020 tour

Get ready to add another rocking tour to your “Must Go To” concert list.

On Tuesday (Nov. 5), Killswitch Engage announced plans to embark on a spring 2020 outing. Dubbed the “Atonement Tour,” the excursion will find the iconic metal group performing at venues across the continent throughout March and April 2020.

The month-long trek will include stops in Grand Rapids, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Dallas, Orlando, San Antonio, Los Angeles, Toronto, Montreal, Portland, and more. The tour kicks off on March 10 at the Agora Theatre in Cleveland and concludes a few weeks later on April 12 at the House of Blues in Boston.

August Burns Red will join Killswitch Engage for the full trip. Additional supporting acts will reportedly be announced at a later date.

Tickets for the upcoming tour go on sale this Friday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m. local time.

The forthcoming tour will be in support of Killswitch Engage’s recently released record, Atonement.

Released in August of this year, the album was warmly received by critics and fans alike. The record, their eighth studio effort, went on to peak at the number 13 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

During the making of the album, the group had to cancel a slew of tour dates as vocalist Jesse Leach underwent surgery on his vocal cords.

As for August Burns Red, things have been quick over at their camp. Their last studio effort was 2017’s Phantom Anthem, which earned them a Grammy nomination for the track “Invisible Enemy.”

2014 Rock on the Range Line Up Unveiled

rock_on_the_range_2014

It’s definitely been the week of the festivals releasing the line ups for their events all thanks to Coachella releasing their list of performers last week. While most of the festivals have had a mostly similar line up, Ohio’s Rock on the Range is full of, like the name says, rock bands.

Headlining the event are Avenged Sevenfold, Bring Me the Horizon, Of Mice & Men, We Came As Romans, Killswitch Engage, Miss May I and Kid Rock, but the biggest name on the reveal has to be Guns N’ Roses.

The full list of bands can be seen here:

The three-day festival is set to take place in Columbus, OH during the weekend of March 16 through 18 at Crew Stadium. Pre-sale tickets will be available Tuesday, January 21 on the music festival’s official site. And for a festival that’s tagline is “the biggest rock festival in the US” it really stays true to that with this line up.

We knew that it was going to happen when the news of singer, Tim Lambesis’ arrest for the conspiracy to murder his ex-wife hit local news.

Almost a week after Lambesis was arrested and serious legal “issues”, As I Lay Dying have officially dropped off of their current tour with Killswitch Engage.

The band released the following statement about their inevitable release from the tour:

“To our fans,

In light of recent events, As I Lay Dying will unfortunately not be taking part in the upcoming tour with Killswitch Engage. Given the circumstances, we feel that it is best for the band to be off the road while the current situation gets sorted. We’d like to thank all of our fans for their ongoing support at this difficult time.
