Walk the Moon drop video for ‘Kamikaze’

Walk the Moon have been a little busy since the release of their third studio album late last year, so it’s not surprising that the band has been a little quiet since then. On Monday (April 16), the Ohio-founded group decided to give their fans something new in the form of unleashing the music video for their latest single, “Kamikaze.”

The clip begins with the band, standing ankle-deep in water while isolated in a dark room. The camera shot shifts to two dancers, dressed in white, standing in a white room countering the dark and wet room the group is housed in. As the video progress and the duo dance around the brightly lit room, the group changes location to dark room lit by bright blue lights as if they were on stage performing for their dedicated fans.

About a minute and a half into the video, the two dancers are joined by more dancers as they dance their way through the three different backgrounds.

“In our song, the Kamikaze is a peaceful warrior of love,” begins a note from frontman Nicholas Petricca on Instagram. “Someone who is willing to sacrifice the status quo. love despite all odds.”

“Kamikaze” is featured on Walk the Moon’s recently released record, What If Nothing which was released in November of 2017. The record landed at the number five on the Top Rock Albums chart, number three on the U.S. Top Alternative Albums chart, and debuted at the number six spot on the U.S. iTunes chart.

In support of What If Nothing‘s release, the group has been on the road touring behind it nonstop. Beginning in June, the four-piece will join Thirty Seconds to Mars on their upcoming “Monolith” tour. The upcoming trek will kick off on June 6 at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto, Ontario and wrap up a month and a half later on July 22 at the Ak-Chin Pavilion in Phoenix, Arizona.
