Hold onto your surfboards Chum Club; 104.3 The Shark has announced the long-awaited lineup for the 2019 incarnation of their Riptide Music Festival. On Monday (Aug. 9), the South Florida-based radio station unveiled their rock and indie-centric lineup for the annual event.
Headlining the fall time festival will be The Killers and The 1975. Rounding out the roster will be The Revivalists, Silversun Pickups, Judah & the Lion, Catfish and the Bottleman, K. Flay, Barns Courtney, SHAED, Reel Big Fish, Mogxn, Switchfoot, New Politics, I Don’t Know How But They Found Me, The Band Camino, and many more.
The listing comes weeks after the radio station announced the return of their annual festivities. As with previous years, the station uploaded videos of crocheted versions of the musical acts, and let the listeners guess who will take the sandy stage in late-November.
Riptide returns to its longtime home of Fort Lauderdale Beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The two-day event will take place during the weekend of Nov. 23-24.
Chum Club tickets have officially been classified as sold out, and early-bird tickets go on sale beginning this Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m. local time.
With an epic lineup like this, it looks like it may be wise to get your tickets as soon as possible.
Kesha, Tegan & Sara, and Martin Garrix are just some of the acts who will make their way to Utah in the summer for the annual LoveLoud Festival. On Wednesday (March 13), festival creator and Imagine Dragons’ frontman Dan Reynolds formally announced the lineup for the 2019 incarnations of the annual event.
Joining Kesha, Tegan & Sara, and Martin Garrix on the lineup for the third annual festival are PVRIS, Grouplove, Daya, K. Flay, Laura Jane Grace of Against Me!, and Reynolds. According to a press statement, additional performers and speakers will be announced at a later date.
“I’m truly honored and humbled to be headlining LoveLoud this year,” Kesha said in a statement.
“I stand with my talented friend Dan Reynolds and Imagine Dragons in this fight for equality. We need to make sure that all LGBTQ+ people feel accepted and supported and that families have the support that they need. It’s important to try to keep families together and having positive, open-minded conversations and, for me, to be a part of something that can continue building the bridge to create a safe space for everyone sounds like a beautiful opportunity. A place that supports all people and all love.”
Reynolds founded the LoveLoud Foundation and its companion festival in 2017 as a way to raise money and awareness for organizations that benefit the LGBTQ+ community, particularly those focused on mental health and suicide prevention.
LoveLoud Festival will take place on June 29 at the USANA Amphitheatre in West Valley City, Utah. The date for the one-day event also has a special meaning; it’s the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.
On June 28, 1969, New York City police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay club in Greenwich Village, and roughly hauled employees and patrons out of the bar. The next day, angry patrons and neighborhood residents took to the streets to protest the treatment which led to violent clashes between the protesters and law enforcement.
For those who will not be able to make it in person, the entire event will be live-streamed on AT&T’s social media channels.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 15, at 10 a.m. MST. For returning LoveLoud Festival attendees, an exclusive pre-sale is currently happening here.
Just when fans thought Thirty Seconds to Mars’ new album would never see the light of day, the band has finally confirmed a release date for it. On Thursday (Feb. 8), frontman Jared Leto made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where he announced the release date for the band’s upcoming fifth studio album. The new record, which seems to have been given the title The New Album, will be released on April 6 through the group’s new record label of Interscope Records. The release date confirmation comes over a year after the band promised fans that new music was on the horizon, but kept postponing the release of any new tunes.
Pre-orders for The New Album are currently available on the group’s website. Back in August of 2017, the trio dropped the first single from the new record, “Walk on Water,” which has found massive success on the charts and on rock radio stations around the country. Last month, the group released the record’s second single, “Dangerous Night.” The New Album will be the follow-up to 2013’s LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS.
In support of The New Album‘s release, Thirty Seconds to Mars also announced a massive tour which will find them touring across the continent during the months of June and July. The Monolith Tour will kick off on June 6 at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto, Ontario and wrap up a month and a half later on July 22 at the Ak-Chin Pavilion in Phoenix, Arizona. Hitting the road alongside Thirty Seconds to Mars for the excursion will be Walk the Moon, MisterWives, Joywave, K. Flay, and Welshly Arms.
Walk the Moon will be Thirty Seconds to Mars’ direct opening act, performing at all but two stops on the tour. MisterWives and Joywave will open on all the June dates while Welshly Arms and K. Flay will take over as supporting acts during the month of July. Pre-sales for the tour will go on sale beginning this Monday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m. local time. General ticket sales will then begin a couple of days later on Friday, Feb. 16. The complete Monolith Tour itinerary can be seen below while the tour announcement video can be seen above.
