Justin Timberlake announces ‘Man of the Woods’ tour

Several days after confirming the release of his fifth studio album, Justin Timberlake has returned to let fans know that a massive tour is on the horizon. On Monday (Jan. 8), the singer announced plans to hit the road in the spring in support of his latest record, Man of the Woods. Titled the “Man of the Woods” tour, the trek will kick off on March 13 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario. After being on the road for about two and a half months, the excursion will conclude in Timberlake’s hometown of Memphis on May 30 at the FedEx Forum.

General ticket sales for the upcoming tour will go on sale beginning next Tuesday, Jan. 16. For those interested in pre-sale options, head on over to Timberlake’s website here.

In conjunction with the tour announcement, Timberlake released a one-minute clip formally announcing the upcoming trek. In the short video, Timberlake explains that his new album was inspired by the outdoors, so the tour design will make the concertgoers feel like the outdoors is being brought into a venue. The clip also features behind-the-scenes footage including Timberlake exercising, rehearsing with his team, playing the keyboard, and eventually hitting the stage. Watch the promotional video for the “Man of the Woods” tour above.

*NSYNC’s ‘Gone’ Intended for Michael Jackson

justin-timberlake-grammy-awards-2013

Did you know that one of *NSYNC’s biggest songs was supposed to be for Michael Jackson?

Well, a lot of revelation like this have been coming out into the open over the past week all thanks to Justin Timberlake. Right before the inaugural iHeartRadio Music Awards, Timberlake went onto Instagram to post the album art for Jackson’s first post-mortem single, “Love Never Felt So Good” which he participated in. The song would go onto to premiere on the award show with Usher dancing to it in honor of the departed King of Pop.

During an interview with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show yesterday, Timberlake also revealed that *NSYNC’s hit track, “Gone” was originally penned for Jackson by him. The song got turned down, but by some chance the boy band ended up recording the song which made it to number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“Interestingly enough, there were songs on the last *NSYNC album…one song in particular, ‘Gone,’ originally I wrote that song for Michael. I’ve always been a big fan of him and I think back to…it made me reminisce to the times he performed at the VMAs with *NSYNC, where we performed at Madison Square Gardens with him, and the numerous meetings I had had with him in the past just about music,” Timberlake told the host.

This isn’t the first time Timberlake has ended up with a song that was originally given to Jackson. Recently, it was revealed that Timberlake’s hit song “Rock Your Body” which was penned by The Neptunes, was offered to Jackson first for his 2001 album, Invincible. The pop star passed on the song and Timberlake took it for his debut solo album, Justified.

And like we say, the rest is history.

Listen to the Full Never Before Heard Michael Jackson/Justin Timberlake Song

image

When the iHeartRadio Music Awards announced that they would be premiering a new, never-before-heard song from the late Michael Jackson, it was not mentioned that Justin Timberlake had actually worked on the song as well.

The announcement was simple: Usher would be paying tribute to the late musician during the show. The performance featured several dancers dressed up in black and neon colored costumes, grafitting a virtual brick wall before dancing to the tune.

Dressed in black and gold, Usher appeared. It was assumed that Usher would sing the song, to honor one of his biggest idols, but when a close up shot appeared on the live broadcast, The Voice judge did not have a microphone on nor were his lips moving.

Before the show was even began its Red Carpet broadcast, Timberlake had taken to his Instagram to post a picture of the cover for Jackson’s post-mortem album, Xscape with a gold background. Just a week and a half ahead of the album’s released, the full version of te song “Love Never Felt So Good” has been released.

The track takes it back to the 70s, when dance pop songs were all the rage and people actually danced with each other rather than today’s grinding and twerking.

Check out the full track below and give your own opinion about it, especially if you’re feeling it.

Justin Timberlake’s “T.K.O.”

justin-timberlake-grammy-awards-2013

Justin Timberlake fans, rejoice, the singer has finally released another new song from his upcoming new album, The 20/20 Experience Part II.  Yesterday, things were buzzing online that the singer would be releasing another new track from the follow-up to this year’s hit, The 20/20 Experience, sometime soon, but as to when that would be exactly, it was unknown.

The buzzing all began when Timberlake took to his Instagram, his favorite mode of releasing information recently, to reveal a teaser of the new song. Like most rumors and teaser, the grand reveal happened late last night when Timberlake gave the world the new track titled, “T.K.O.”

Producer extraordinaire, Timbaland helped with the production of the song as well as some vocals while Timberlake took care of everything else in the a little over seven minute long song.

For now, check out the new song and tell us if it’s a “knock-out” (pun intended).

The 20/20 Experience Part II hit stores on September 30th.

Justin Timberlake and Kanye West Make Up

justin-timberlake-grammy-awards-2013

Remember back in February when Kanye West took a shot at Justin Timberlake during a show in  London’s Hammersmith Apollo?

Yeah, well we almost forgot about it too until we remember what West had said to his crowd of followers. To this day, the assumption might be that ‘Yeezus’ was jealous that his best friend, Jay-Z was trading him in for Timberlake which led to him saying, “”I got love for Hov, but I ain’t fucking with that ‘Suit & Tie’.”

Cue the one person feud that was forgotten until today when Timberlake brought it back into the public’s knowledge.

In an interview with MTV reporter, Sway on In the Morning, Timberlake commented on what the rapper had said, and that it really didn’t bother him much. “At the end of the day it’s just music,” he said. “I love the record, I love ‘Suit & Tie’. It reminds me of the music I grew up listening to. I respect his opinion because I think he’s a genius, but I don’t share that opinion.”

While the “feud” did got into a black hole of oblivion to the world, Timberlake said that the two of them  settled their difference at the MTV Video Music Awards last week where West performed “Blood on the Leaves” and Timberlake performed a medley of his songs as well as accepted a couple of awards including the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Awards.

“I told [Kanye], ‘I fuck with you, in a way that you probably don’t even understand. I get what you do.’ We’ve never worked together, so I don’t think that he fully understands what it is that I can do. I love ‘Yeezus’, I love that album. I think he’s ahead of a lot, especially in his genre. I think people are going to appreciate it a lot more in the future.”

As if simply making up wasn’t enough, Timberlake did make a comment that there might be some collaborating in the future. Well, the best way I know how to do that is for us to just sit down and play music.”

So can anyone see a collaboration going on between these two? I don’t know.
