Watch: Dashboard Confessional prepare for an apocalypse in ‘Just What to Say’

Dashboard Confessional are back with a brand new music video. On Thursday (Nov. 15), the Florida-founded band unleashed the three-and-half-minute clip for their latest single, “Just What to Say.”

The Ryan Hamblin-directed video begins with frontman Chris Carrabba sitting on a bed in what appears to be his bedroom as he strums away at his guitar. Visually getting frustrated by his lack of inspiration, the singer leaves the room and heads to what looks to be the kitchen area. Taking a seat, he places the guitar on the ground and puts on his record player.

After putting the needle to the record, he rises from the chair and heads over to a table where liquid-filled glasses and crumbled pieces of paper litter the top. He spends the rest of the clip walking from room to room, at several points even grabbing the receiver of a telephone as if he was working up the courage to make a very important phone call.

As he turns to face the window, he notices how the sky had changed to a deep red. The television behind him flashes several warnings, declaring that it’s “the end of the world.” In a panic that the word is in fact ending, he decides to make the call, realizing he knows ‘just what to say.’

“Just What to Say” (featuring Against the Current’s Chrissy Costanza) is the closing track on Dashboard Confessional recently released record, Crooked Shadows. The album, the group’s seventh studio effort, was released in February through Fueled By Ramen. The album also includes lead singles “Heart Beat Here” and “We Fight.”
