Last night, everyone who was watching the Heat vs Spurs game was surprised by the three minute commercial that hit their screens featuring Jay-Z at half-time. At first, it would seem like it was setting up to be some kind of a documentary for the rapper, but then it turned to be commercial for the rapper’s upcoming EP that nobody knew existed.
The EP which will be called, Magna Carta Holy Grail is scheduled to be released on July 4th, but for those who own a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, they have a chance to get the album almost 72 hours before the general public. On June 24, the rapper will be releasing an app and the first one million to download the app, will be able to get the album for free on its release date (12:01 a.m. on July 4th to be exact).
In the video that can be seen below the rapper says about his 12th album: “The album is about, like this duality of how do you navigate through this whole thing—through success, through failures, through all this—and remain yourself,”
He also includes his collaborators for the album which will feature Timbaland, Pharrell Williams and Swizz Beatz.
