5 Seconds of Summer Enlist Fans for “Jet Black Heart” Video

5 Seconds of Summer have been really open about how their recently released album, Sounds Good Feels Good would tackle serious subject matters like depression. For their new music, they decided to scale things back and let their fans shine. On Thursday (Dec. 17), the band released the music video for their latest single, “Jet Black Heart.”

The video for “Jet Black Heart” begin with a message from the band that dedicated the music video to those that have stood behind them. “We asked our fans to help make this video,” begins the message. “We wanted to hear your stories. We were overwhelmed by the response. This video goes out to you.”

After the message goes off the screen, it soon picks up with a collection of their fans (and even the members themselves) singing the song. Like stated before, it’s a complete departure from their videos for “Hey Everybody!” and “She’s Kinda Hot” which seemed to be more on the playful side.
