Jimmy Eat World gets colorful for ‘Sure and Certain’

It’s been less than a month since Jimmy Eat World released their latest/kind of surprise album, Integrity Blues. Since then, lead single “Sure and Certain” has been on a constant loop on several alternative radio stations across the country. On Wednesday (Nov. 16), a couple of months after the song made its worldwide debut, the band has released the official music video for the track.

The music video begins with footage of a cartoon-ish version of space. The camera zooms in on one particular red planet before it shifts to another scenery. The viewer is introduced to a world that seems to be part reality and part cartoon with the band members appearing in different colors. For those not sure whether the group is performing on a different planet, Earth can clearly be seen in the background, right behind them. As they continue to play, we are given a surprise; the band is actually in a painting.

The painting the band is currently occupying belongs to a ballerina who is in the middle of practicing a routine. Like anyone who is dedicated to their art, we see her get frustrated at failing, but continue to push herself. As she turns to face the painting, she seems surprised by it and goes to touch with. When she does, she is transported to the alternate world with the band. Let’s just say it feels very much like a 2016 version of A-Ha’s  “Take on Me.” Watch the clip below.

“Sure and Certain” is featured on Jimmy Eat World’s recently release ninth studio album. The record was released back in October through RCA Records. In support of the new record, the band hit the road for an extensive fall excursion. They are currently wrapping up the final stops of the tour with the group performing at Skater’s Palace in Münster, Germany tonight (Nov. 16). the final dates of the tour can be found here.

Jimmy Eat World reassure that ‘You Are Free’ in new song

With a handful of days left before the release of their upcoming new album, Jimmy Eat World has released one final taste of the record. On Monday (Oct. 17), the Arizona-founded band released a fourth new track from their impending, ninth studio album, Integrity Blues. The new song is titled “You Are Free.” The lyric video for the new tune can be seen below.

“You Are Free” will join previously released tracks “Get Right,” “Sure and Certain,” and “You with Me” on Integrity Blues. Those who pre-order the album now will receive instant downloads of “Get Right,” “Sure and Certain,” “You with Me,” and “You Are Free.” Integrity Blues is set to be released this Friday, Oct. 21, through RCA Records and marks the follow-up to 2013’s Damages.

Back in August, the group had revealed that the new record was produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen who previously worked with M83 and Paramore. In support of Integrity Blues, the band is currently n their “Integrity Blues” world tour. Tonight, the band is taking a break from performing, but tomorrow (Oct. 18), the group will perform at the Granada Theatre in Lawrence, KS. The complete list of upcoming tour dates can be seen here.

Jimmy Eat World unleash ‘You with Me’

September was a huge month for Jimmy Eat World. The Arizona-founded band announced the release of their ninth studio album, released several new tracks from it, and even announced a major tour. On Friday, (Oct. 7), the group debuted another new song from Integrity Blues. The latest track to be released is titled “You with Me” and can currently be streamed below.

“You with Me” will join lead single, “Get Right,” and current single “Sure and Certain” on Integrity Blues. Integrity Blues is set to be released on Oct. 21 via RCA Records and marks the band’s first new set of track since the release of 2013’s Damage. Back in August, the group had revealed that the new record was produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen who previously worked with M83 and Paramore.

In support of Integrity Blues‘ upcoming release, the band will be hitting the road this fall. Jimmy Eat World announces ‘Integrity Blues’ tour

Two weeks after hinting at a world tour, Jimmy Eat World has unveiled their tour itinerary for the fall. On Tuesday (Sept. 6), the Arizona-founded band unveiled a lengthy tour schedule that will find them performing in North America and then Europe. The North American leg of their upcoming tour will kick off on Oct. 7 at Park City Live in Park City, UT and wrap up a couple of weeks later on Oct. 29 at the Troubadour in Los Angeles.

After a couple of days off, the band will head across the pond to Europe for the European leg of the tour. The European leg will kick off on Nov. 4 at Guildhall Southampton, England and wrap up a couple of weeks later on Nov. 20 at The Academy in Birmingham, England.

The tour announcement comes a couple of weeks after frontman Jim Adkins spoke with BBC Radio 1 DJ, Daniel P. Carter. During their chat, the singer teased that there would be a slew of upcoming tour dates in support of their ninth studio album.

“Image that this is just the beginning of what hopefully will be a healthy, full, extended touring pattern of coming to [the] U.K. and playing all over the place,” Adkins told Carter at the time. “I can’t wait to play the new songs for people; the record release date can’t come soon enough.”

Tickets for the tour will go on sale beginning this Friday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. local time. The complete list of upcoming tour dates can be seen below, including their previously announced shows.

Jimmy Eat World release new single, announce new album name

A week after unveiling their first new song in three years, Jimmy Eat World has returned with yet another new track. On Tuesday (Aug. 30), the Arizona-founded band debuted the second single off of their impending new record; a track titled “Sure and Certain.” The new tune marks the second song the group has premiered off of their upcoming ninth studio album. In addition to releasing their new single, the band has also formally announced the name and release date for the new album. Jimmy Eat World’s new record will be titled Integrity Blues and is set to be released on Oct. 21 through RCA Records. Last Monday (Aug. 22), frontman Jim Adkins spoke to BBC Radio 1 DJ, Daniel P. Carter, about the group’s new album while premiering “Get Right.” During the interview, Adkins was asked whether the group had a projected release date for the album. “We do,” Adkins responded with a chuckle at the time. “We’ll be talking about that soon, but I don’t want to get people’s hopes up and have to backtrack after that.” Less than 12 hours after the interview was broadcast, the release date was announced to the public, though the band never formally confirmed or denied it.

“Sure and Certain” will join “Get Right” on Integrity Blues. Integrity Blues will mark the band’s first new record since the release of 2013’s Damage. As previously announced by Adkins, the new record was produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen who previously worked with M83 and Paramore.
