Of Mice & Men Cancel Upcoming Tour Dates

Bad news has surfaced for fans of Of Mice & Men who happen to live across the pond. The band have announced that they will be cancelling several shows due to frontman Austin Carlile’s health.

The band have been on a major tour since 2014 began, and it looks like the heavy touring might have caught up with Carlile. Early this morning, OM&M posted an update on all their social media accounts explaining that they have been forced to cancel several of their upcoming European tour dates.

The reason behind the cancellation all stems from Carlile and his “unforseen health issues.”

The cancellation means that their appearances at some European festivals including Pukkelpop and Summer Breeze have been scraped. One festival that will not be OM&M-less; Reading and Leeds.

The festival which is slated to take place next weekend (August 22-24) , will not be missing the California band from their line-up.

Read the band’s statement below and wish Carlile a speeding recovery.

Due to Austin having unforeseen health issues we’re unfortunately not going to be able to play the first few festivals of our upcoming tour in Europe while he rests up. This will include our scheduled appearances at Summer Breeze today, Pukkelpop on Friday and Elb-Riot and X-Rockest this weekend. We apologise to our fans in Belgium and Germany who were attending these shows but we will be back soon to make up for this. We are going to be resuming our tour on August 19th in Berlin and all other upcoming shows including Reading and Leeds Festivals are unaffected.

The band’s latest record, Restoring Force was released back in January and reached the number 4 spot on the Billboard 200.

Paramore Cancel Two Tour Dates Due to Illness

For fans of Paramoe who were looking forward to seeing the Nashville-based band on their co-headlining tour with Fall Out Boy this summer, it looks like they’ve had to bow out for a couple of stops.

The band was forced to cancel two Texas stops on the “Monumentour,” one in Corpus Christi and the other in Dallas due to frontwoman Hayley Williams falling ill with a chest infection and exhaustion.

As of now, it looks like their show tomorrow (August 7) in Albuquerque is still on, but with illnesses that bad especially for the voice of the band, fans should keep an eye out for updates from the band about that.

Check out a message from Williams, explaining the decision to pull out of the two stops.

“Writing from my bunk to let you know that my doctor and my vocal coach have told me I can’t play tonight either. I have a chest infection and … Something called “exhaustion”. Ha.

Words in this tiny little message cannot begin to express my frustration, sadness, and overall loopiness (the latter is likely just from the cortisone and antibiotics…ugh.)

Corpus Christi, you’ve been on my mind since I woke up this afternoon and Dallas, you’ll be on my mind the rest of the night. I absolutely hate canceling anything. Admitting defeat is a tough thing for this gal.

Anyway. Thanks for understanding as much as you can. Of course any frustration on your part is totally understandable. I’m thankful for all the get well soon’s and all the love I’ve seen online. Big special thanks for FOB camp as well for helping by extending their set last night. We absolutely love being out here with those guys and their crew.

As for the rest of the tour. It is still on. Doctor thinks I’ll be good to go in the next day and certainly before the next show.

Texas, the guys and I will be back to you as soon as we can.

Pray for me if you pray. Fist bump me if you don’t.

Sum 41 Frontman Gets Help from Unlikely Friends

When news hit that Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley had been admitted to the hospital, the frontman was the first to reveal that the cause of his long-term hospitalization for kidney and liver failure was due to his many years of alcohol abuse.

It has now been over two months since  his life-altering news had been uncovered and now, in a recent interview, Whibley revealed that he has gotten help from two unlikely people; Iggy Pop and Tommy Lee.

Pop and Lee have been known for their boozing history and seem like the most unlikely people to help someone from the cusp of death to recovery, but with their history, that might be why they reached out to him.

“Now I’m sober, I don’t get calls from certain people that I used to…the drinking friends” Whibley began in an interview with Kerrang!

“Now, I’m the bum-out to them. Who wants to invite the sober guy to the party? Y’know who has been incredibly supportive? Iggy Pop. He had a lot of great advice; he’s been through it all. We’ve been friends for years.”

Doctors had told Whibley that if he were to take one more shot of alcohol, it would cost him his life. The road to recovery began for the “Fat Lip” singer after he had been drinking at home and collapsed. His fiancée found him and rushed him to the hospital. That’s when the news was broken to him and where his long-term stay in the hospital began.

One silver lining for Whibley was that his ordeal had inspired him to write new music. He told fans to keep an eye out for that.

Morrissey’s Current Tour Officially Cancelled

Well, it looks like the Morrissey Sickness Chronicles did not end last week when it was revealed that the former Smith’s frontman had to cancel a few dates from his current United States tour. Now, the rest of the tour has become a wash out with even the rescheduled Atlantic City date being cancelled.

At the time, it had just been a flu that no one knew where it came from, knocking out not only The Moz, but his entire crew. Now, it looks like the blame is being put on the former opening act, Kristeen Young.

After the cancelled tour dates had been announced, Young revealed she would no longer be on the tour when someone online wrote how excited they were to see her perform. She replied with a cryptic message saying that she would not be at the show or any others once the tour resumed.

Morrissey then revealed the tour would commence on Saturday, June 7 at Boston Opera House, but the singer reportedly collapsed and was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital following his set.

What is suspicious, is the fact that the post blaming Young for the ailment on Morrissey’s blog, True to You, was written but not signed by the singer. Though he is a frequent poster on the blog, he typically would end the post by signing his name. This post did not feature that.

Young posted a new statement online, revealing that she did not decide to leave the tour on her own; rather, she was asked to leave the tour by Morrissey’s own booking manager, Dave Tamaroff. She was told that a new supporting band would be present in Boston to replace her and her band.

We’re going to take a shot in the dark and assume that all those tickets are going to be refunded and that Morrissey’s recent tours are in fact cursed.

Sum 41 Frontman Admitted into Hospital for Kidney and Liver Failure

In what has come as surprising news to fans and casual listeners of Sum 41, frontman Deryck Whibley has released an open letter revealing that he was admitted to the hospital to deal with some serious health concerns. In the letter, he reveals that he was admitted into the hospital over a month ago to get treatment for both kidney and liver failure after collapsing in his home and being sedated at the hospital for a week.

By his own account, Whibley had admitted that years of serious alcohol abuse had led to the situation that he is currently in; laid up in a hospital with serious health conditions. He also reveals that he understand that after the bad has passed, he would never be able to drink again. The only upside, he says? The fact that his musical muse had finally returned and that he is currently writing music.

You can read his letter (and see a picture straight from the hospital) below and just remember guys, drink with responsibly. It might sound like a clichéd, alcohol commercial disclaimer, but no one wants to one day be admitted into the hospital with such serious health problems at such a young age.

“hey everyone, it’s deryck here. sorry i’ve been so m.i.a. lately, but i’ve been very sick in the hospital for a month and was pretty sick for a few weeks leading up to my trip to the hospital. the reason i got so sick is from all the hard boozing i’ve been doing over the years. it finally caught up to me. i was drinking hard every day. until one night. i was sitting at home, poured myself another drink around mid night and was about to watch a movie when all of a sudden i didn’t feel so good.

i then collapsed to the ground unconscious. my fiancé got me rushed to the hospital where they put me into the intensive care unit. i was stuck with needles and i.v.’s all over. i was completely sedated the FIRST WEEK. when i finally woke up the next day i had no idea where i was. my mum and step dad were standing over me. i was so freaked out. my liver and kidney’s collapsed on me. needless to say it scared me straight. i finally realized i can’t drink anymore. if i have one drink the doc’s say i will die. i’m not preaching or anything but just always drink responsibly. i didn’t, and look where that got me. (i never thought i would ever say that! haha) anyway i have my passion and inspiration back for writing music. i already have a few song ideas for new songs. soon it will be time to start making an album and getting back to touring again. see you all sometime! there will be more posts again so say up to date friends.

You Me At Six to Reschedule North American Tour

Fans of the United Kingdom outfit, You Me At Six will have to wait a little longer for the band to make their official headlining tour debut in North America. It was revealed yesterday that the band would have to postpone their upcoming North American tour due to frontman Josh Franceschi suffering from a serious case of vocal exhaustion.

According to the singer’s doctor, he would need to be put in vocal rest which would take him off the stage for a minimum of four to six weeks. Instead of cancelling the dates, the band have promised fans in North America that the dates will be rescheduled for sometime in September. Virginia-based The Downtown Fiction were scheduled to open for the band during their trek, but now it is unknown if they will be joining them in September for the rescheduled dates.

The statement from the band which can also be found on their Facebook page can be read here:

Following more than a year of straight touring, Josh is suffering from vocal exhaustion and is under doctor’s orders to rest his vocal cords for a minimum of 4-6 weeks. Matt, Max, Chris, Dan, and of course, Josh, are therefore sorry and disappointed to announce the unavoidable postponement of their upcoming North America Tour, which was due to start in LA on April 21st. Given Josh’s need for rest, the band is unable to perform at the high energy level for which they’re known.

ALL VIP & GA tickets for the tour will be valid for the rescheduled shows, which will now run from September 15th through October 20th. The new shows will be announced within the next 7 days.

For further updates stayed tuned to www.youmeatsix.co.uk and http://twitter.com/youmeatsix. Thanks in advance for your patience and look forward to seeing you North American fans come September.”

Avicii Pulls Out of Ultra Due to Illness

In what came as a blow to many fans attending Ultra Music Festival in Miami this weekend, Avicii had to pull out last-minute.

Last night, TMZ has reported that the Swedish DJ had been hospitalized and would be missing his pre-Ultra performance at Miami Beach’s Hyde Beach at the SLS Hotel which had been changed to the Avicii Hotel for that night. Audience members had been told that he was rushed to the hospital for severe abdominal pains, nausea, and a fever which was recently revealed to be due to his gallbladder.

“I was with Tim at the hospital last night and this morning,” Ash Pournouri, Avicii’s manager said to E! News earlier in the day.

“He was really disappointed that he wasn’t able to come to the AVICII Hotel at SLS and perform for all his fans. He really appreciated all the hard work done by SLS, Ushuaia, At Night and SBE in creating the space.  It was frustrating for him not to have seen it. And of course, ULTRA has been so important to us for so many years, it’s a big letdown not being able to play.”

Upon finding out about his sudden illness and the possibility that he wouldn’t be able to perform, Ultra managed to wrangle in Deadmau5 to fill in for his headlining, closing gig on Saturday.

The DJ, whose real name is Tim Bergling, took to his Facebook to address the situation and inform fans on what is currently going on with his sudden hospitalization and what led to it. His statement can be read below.

“I’m really sorry but as some of you have already heard, I will not be playing Ultra Festival this weekend. My fans know that I have had issues in the past with my stomach and pancreatitis…I woke up on Wednesday morning with serious pain but I flew to Miami anyway, hoping that it would go away. The pain was still there when I landed so I went straight to hospital. I was treated and left later that night.Unfortunately, the pain came back yesterday afternoon and I returned to the hospital where they admitted me to stay overnight. My doctors have decided to operate and remove my gall bladder tomorrow morning. It’s a routine procedure and all going well, I expect to be fully recovered and back on my feet in time for my US True Tour.

Thanks for your concern everyone, it means a lot to me!

– From Avicii”

Ke$ha Leaves Rehab; Starts Fresh

In case you haven’t already heard, Ke$ha checked out of rehab late last week and it looks like it might be the start of something new.

At the beginning of January, the pop star checked into a rehab facility in Chicago to help her with an eating disorder that had plagued her. At the time, she was only supposed to be in the facility for one month, but decided to stick around for an extra month, just in case.

Upon checking out of the center, she took to Twitter to change her handle from @Keshasuxx to @KeshaRose, cutting all ties to the dollar sign, probably a statement on starting all over again with a fresh mind.

“Happy to be back! Feeling healthy & working on tons of new music🐱,” the pop singer tweeted on Wednesday night, breaking the silence on her social media account, though close friends took to it last month to reveal that she was doing great in rehab.  “I can’t thank my fans enough for all the love & support u have given me❤️️”

“Life is beautiful,” she added. “I’m so blessed to have u all.”

The “Timber” singer originally checked into the Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center on January 3 to help treat her ongoing issue with Bulimia as well as to help her “learn to love herself again.”

“I’m a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I’ve found it hard to practice,” she released in a statement right before going into isolation. “I’ll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder … to learn to love myself again, exactly as I am.”

It’s good to have her back and like the sweater she wore when she left the facility said, she’s indeed a survivor.

A Day to Remember Cancel Show for the First Time Ever

Last night, fans of A Day to Remember who were looking forward to seeing them, got the bad news that the band had to cancel their show. They were set to take the stage in Cardiff, but frontman Jeremy McKinnon was having issues with his throat and voice beginning early in the day.

Originally, the band revealed the news of the cancellation, but they would postpone the show until McKinnon was feeling better. The frontman went to go see a doctor and that;s when he was notified that he had a bacterial throat infection and could not perform.

McKinnon released the following statement about his condition upon finding out and also revealing that last night’s cancellation was the first time the band ever did such a thing in the 11 years they had been a band.

Let me start by saying I’m not sick with a cold or just feeling generally under the weather. I woke up barely being able to speak. I then spent the entire day trying different warm ups/techniques people do to try and fight these kind of ailments. I kept trying and felt like I was making some slight progress right up until you guys were told we were postponing the show. I saw a doctor at 6:30pm the soonest we could find one on a Saturday and she told me I have a bacterial throat infection that could get worse if I didn’t take care of it. Getting worse isn’t just me getting more sick, it could mean doing permanent damage to my voice. The last thing we wanted was to cancel tonight. We’d been looking forward to it for weeks and it was one of our best selling shows ever. All I can say is I apologize and did everything I could to play tonight. This is our 11th year as a band and the first time we’ve ever canceled a show for illness. Hopefully you guys can understand and we will see you again when we reschedule this thing. Thanks for your continued support.

Ke$ha Checks into Rehab for Eating Disorder

From “Timber” to time-out?

It has been confirmed thatKe$ha has been checked into to a rehabilitation facility due to an eating disorder. Sources close to the pop star say that she is currently at Timberline Knolls near Chicago, the same place Demi Lovato checked into for a year when she was in the midst of battling her own personal issues.

“I’m a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I’ve found it hard to practice. I’ll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder … to learn to love myself again, exactly as I am,” the 26-year-old singer shared with TMZ about her decision to check herself into the center.

Friends of the star say that the tipping point was around Thanksgiving when they started to notice her smaller figure during the holiday season. They all spoke with her about it and that’s when it all came out. Those friends reportedly told TMZ that the star blamed longtime producer, Dr. Luke for her eating disorder.

According to them, following her “Get Sleazy” Tour, the producer kept harping her about the weight she had gained during her downtime from the studio and tour. He began to call her fat and urged her management team to do something about it. Those friends say that things started to get worse during a music video shoot where the producer said the singer “looks like a f***ing refrigerator.”

Here’s to hoping that she gets better fast because who doesn’t love our favorite garbage-bag-wearing, glitter-throwing party girl.
