Watch Tom Hanks Channel Carly Rae Jepsen in “I Really Like You”

Carly Rae Jepsen’s new song, “I Really Like You” became an instant hit and a great follow-up to the infectious “Call Me Maybe.”

Before the song made its debut on the web earlier this week, video of Jepsen and actor Tom Hanks on the set of the music video for the track was posted online. The Instagram video captured the duo, as well as Justin Bieber, on the set dancing alongside a huge crowd.

Now, the official music video has been released. In a kind of creepy twist, the video predominately features Hanks going about his morning (waking up at 5 a.m., getting asked for a picture/autograph, riding a cab) while lip-syncing the track as he makes his way to the real shoot for the “music video.”

Check it all out below.

While promoting the song, Jepsen revealed she had worked with Tegan and Sara on several songs which were being considered for her new album as well as her collaborations with Dev Hynes, Ariel Rechtshaid. The new album, which will feature 11 new tracks, is set to be released sometime this Summer through Schoolboy Records/Interscope.

Carly Rae Jepsen “Really Likes You” in New Song

Usually when you have one ultra-successful song under your belt, it’s really hard to follow that up which is why the term “one hit wonder” was created (sorry, guys).

But, years after all the lip syncing videos, countless covers, and who know how many different performances of “Call Me Maybe,” Carly Rae Jepsen is back with another catchy song to add to her collection.

Her new song is titled “I Really Like You,” and even though it’s not as “let’s get up and dance and sing along until we can’t anymore” as “Call Me Maybe,” the song is simple and catchy and brings up images of pop songs from the 80s.

Don’t believe us, check out the song below.

As of now, there has been no word on whether Jepsen has a new album coming out anytime soon, but we’re pretty sure if she does, we’ll be hearing about it.

Also, it might be a good idea to keep an eye out for the official music video for the song which will feature a dancing Tom Hanks and that annoying dude that helped discover her, at least according to Instagram.
