Jessie J to release Christmas album in October

Ho. Ho. Ho. It looks like the holiday season came early this year for Jessie J fans. On Friday (Sept. 28), the British signer-songwriter announced plans to release a Christmas album later this year. Titled This Christmas Day, the holiday record is due out Oct. 26 through Republic Records.

The 11-track album will find the “Domino” singer remaking classic holiday staples such as “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “Silent Night” with the help of producer David Foster. The upcoming holiday album will also feature several collaborations such as “Winter Wonderland” with Boyz II Men and “The Christmas Song” with Babyface.

“The chance to work with David Foster, Babyface, Rodney Jerkins, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, and Boyz II Men was a DREAM COME TRUE. The talent they all have blows my mind,” Jessie writes in a press statement.

In addition to announcing the title, release date, and special guests, the singer also unveiled the complete track listing for the forthcoming record.

In the same press release, the songstress explains why she decided to follow-up her fourth studio album with a holiday record.

“I love Christmas music and finally had the opportunity to record a Christmas album. I hope you enjoy the music with your loved ones and create magical memories at my favorite time of the year.”

This Christmas Day will be the unofficial follow-up to her recently released record, R.O.S.E. R.O.S.E was released earlier this year as four separate EPs titled Realisations, Obsessions, Sex, and Empowerment.

To support the release of her new album, Jessie J has spent most of the year on the road. The North American leg of the R.O.S.E. tour is set to begin on Oct. 1 at the Warfield in San Francisco. The Killers release their annual Christmas song, announce holiday album

Once Halloween passes, it almost feel like the holidays are out to get you. If the turkey dinners and holiday decorations at every store aren’t enough to let you know that “the most wonderful time of the year” is right around the corner, then the news that The Killers’ new holiday song being released might. On Friday (Nov. 18), the Las Vegas-founded band unleashed their latest holiday song, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” For the past decade, the band has released holiday songs to get fans, and casual listeners, excited for the holidays with his year being no different.

While the fans got to enjoy the new-ish music from the band, proceeds from all the tracks were donated to (RED) to help them and their mission to combat AIDs. One thing that is a little different from every other year is the band’s decision to gather all of the holiday singles and release a Christmas compilation. The album, which is titled Don’t Waste Your Wishes, will included previously released holiday singles, “Don’t Shoot Me Santa,” “Boots,” “Joel the Lump of Coal,” and others. All proceeds from the sale of the Christmas compilation will also be donated to (RED).

As if giving back to charity wasn’t enough, frontman Brandon Flowers revealed that he learned the true meaning of the holidays from his fourth grade teach, Mr. Hansen, who is featured on the 2016 holiday single. Pre-orders for Don’t Waste Your Wishes are currently available on the band’s website and on iTunes. At the moment, only the digital version is available, but come Dec. 9, physical copies of the album will be available.

Listen to Anthony Green’s Christmas Tracks

The holidays are almost on our doorsteps which means that many of our favorite bands have been releasing tracks to celebrate the joyous occasion as a way to give back to those who have supported them. Bayside, Memphis May Fire, and Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams are just some who have released holiday tracks in the last week.

Now, we can add Circa Survive frontman, Anthony Green to that growing list. Green, who we are pretty sure never sleeps, release two tracks for Christmas yesterday; “Better Half’ and “Christmas Waltz.”

Both songs are featured on Green’s two-song EP fittingly titled, Winter Songs which is currently available for purchase on his Bandcamp.

Both songs can be streamed below.

As it has been said before, Green probably doesn’t know what vacation is because his first month of 2015 is already filled with tour dates.

First he’ll be going on a five-day tour with Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties (Dan Campbell of The Wonder Years) and I Can Make a Mess (Ace Enders of The Early November), and Elder Brother beginning, this Friday (Dec. 26).

Then, in mid-January, Green will re-join his former band Saosin for a four-day tour.

See, he never sleeps.

Beyoncé Helps Make Terminally Ill Girl’s Dream Come True

You don’t need to be a fan of Beyoncé and her music to admit that she has a big heart in her when it comes to her fans.

Earlier this month, while on her Mrs. Carter World Tour, the singer helped make a terminally ill girl’s dream come true. Her dream was to perform with Beyoncé and thanks to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, that just happened.

Taylon has a tumor in her brain which cannot be operated on and wanted to get the chance to perform with Queen Bee.”They found an inoperable tumor on her brain, and her dying wish was to dance with Beyoncé,” Ivy McGregor of Philanthropy Program Partnerships says in the video.

Her dream came true during Beyoncé’s stop in Las Vegas where Taylon was brought on stage to sing and dance alongside her idol for “Love on Top” as well as Destiny’s Child’s hit song “Survivor.” Video from the performance can be seen below which was uploaded to the singer’s YouTube page on Christmas Eve.

This isn’t the first time Beyoncé has done such a thing for a fan. A few weeks before the Las Vegas tour stop, she sang a heartwarming duet with a 13-year-old blind fan during a concert in Perth, Australia.

But that’s not where her charitable heart ended for the holidays. A few days ago, she showed up at a Walmart in Tweksbury, MA and gave out $50 gift card to shoppers at the store.

Now that’s definitely one way to show the holiday spirit and appreciation for the fans who helped put her at the top of the charts.
