Jessie J to release Christmas album in October

Ho. Ho. Ho. It looks like the holiday season came early this year for Jessie J fans. On Friday (Sept. 28), the British signer-songwriter announced plans to release a Christmas album later this year. Titled This Christmas Day, the holiday record is due out Oct. 26 through Republic Records.

The 11-track album will find the “Domino” singer remaking classic holiday staples such as “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “Silent Night” with the help of producer David Foster. The upcoming holiday album will also feature several collaborations such as “Winter Wonderland” with Boyz II Men and “The Christmas Song” with Babyface.

“The chance to work with David Foster, Babyface, Rodney Jerkins, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, and Boyz II Men was a DREAM COME TRUE. The talent they all have blows my mind,” Jessie writes in a press statement.

In addition to announcing the title, release date, and special guests, the singer also unveiled the complete track listing for the forthcoming record.

In the same press release, the songstress explains why she decided to follow-up her fourth studio album with a holiday record.

“I love Christmas music and finally had the opportunity to record a Christmas album. I hope you enjoy the music with your loved ones and create magical memories at my favorite time of the year.”

This Christmas Day will be the unofficial follow-up to her recently released record, R.O.S.E. R.O.S.E was released earlier this year as four separate EPs titled Realisations, Obsessions, Sex, and Empowerment.

To support the release of her new album, Jessie J has spent most of the year on the road. The North American leg of the R.O.S.E. tour is set to begin on Oct. 1 at the Warfield in San Francisco. After a month on the North American road, the tour will conclude on Nov. 1 at the Wiltern in Los Angeles.

Sleeping with Sirens to unleash holiday-themed single

‘Tis the season to be jolly and Sleeping with Sirens is making sure their fans are super jolly this season. On Monday (Nov. 13), the Florida-founded band announced plans to release a brand new, holiday-themed song. According to the band, the new track will be titled “Christmas on the Road” and will debut this Friday, Nov. 17.

Taking to their official Twitter page, the band wrote: “We’re ringing in the holidays with new music! ‘Christmas on the Road’ is coming Friday, November 17.”

“Christmas on the Road” will be the band’s first new song since the release of their fifth studio album earlier this year. Back in September, the five-piece released their new studio album, Gossip. Gossip marked the band’s first studio album to be released through their new record label Warner Bros Records; the band was previously signed to Epitaph Records. The album went on to reach the number 38 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

Around the same time Sleeping with Sirens announced the release of Gossip, they had also revealed that the album’s lead single, “Legends,” would be used as Team USA’s official anthem for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

In support of Gossip‘s release, the band has been on the road touring behind the new tunes. Currently, the band is in the middle of their European tour. Once that excursion wraps up in late November, the group will return to the United States for a short tour in December. The complete list of tour stops for the group’s upcoming December trek can be seen below.

SLEEPING WITH SIRENS TOUR DATES:

Dec. 05 – Houston, TX @ House of Blues
Dec. 06 – Dallas, TX @ The Door
Dec. 07 – San Antonio, TX @ Alamo City Music Hall
Dec. 08 – Lubbock, TX @ Jake’s Backroom
Dec. 10 – Tucson, AZ @ The Rock
Dec. 11 – Mesa, AZ @ Mesa Amphitheatre

La Dispute Give Fans Pay-What-You-Can Option For Complete Discography

image

The holidays are the best time to give back to the community and once again, La Dispute will be doing the same.

Earlier in the day, the band revealed they would once again be giving fans the chance to “pay-what-they-can” for the band’s complete discography, as well as a couple of unreleased tracks, on their Bandcamp.

Any and all donations given to the band through this will be donated directly to The Wellhouse, an organization that helps combat homelessness in Grand Rapids, MI.

Read the letter directly from the band to their fans advising them about this great opportunity to give back to those who are less fortunate than the rest of us.

“OK, let’s try this again.

Greetings!

It’s hard to believe that yet another year is coming to a close. It’s been a whirlwind– releasing our 3rd full-length album, Rooms of the House, touring for nearly 4 months straight, and taking multiple short bursts around the world to play various events and festivals with new friends and old. In recent months, we’ve been fortunate to be able to spend time with our families and loved ones, making plans for the future and working towards new things.

In keeping with tradition, we wanted to do something special this holiday season that would be our way of saying thank you to all those who have supported us and stayed with us throughout the years. All this, whatever this is, has become more than any of us could have possibly imagined. It’s overwhelming, really. Baffling even, at times. Ultimately, it’s an honor to be a part of it and we’re so grateful to be able to share it with all of you.

Well enough chit-chat, let’s get to the goodies. As we have done in the past, on December 25 we are opening up our Bandcamp page to pay-what-you-can downloads with the stipulation that all donations will be given to an organization of which we are locally connected to. This year, we have again chosen to support the Wellhouse in Grand Rapids, MI. It is especially pertinent this time of year to consider those who will not have the privilege of shelter and warm food, good company and gifts, while so many of us freely travel to our homes. Wellhouse Grand Rapids has been combating the effects of homelessness by creating spaces and providing opportunities for people to step out of their current situations. You can find more information about the work they are doing at their website (I’ll post below) which we encourage you to check out.

As far as the music goes, you’ll find that there are a few new things up for your downloading consumption, including two previously unreleased BBC sessions, one from earlier this year and another from back in 2011 when we visited Maida Vale with Touche Amore.

A note about downloads: if you are planning to download several albums or songs, please consider combining your donations into one lump sum on one of your downloads, instead of multiple small donations. This will help minimize fees and maximize the money that will be able to be donated.

Thank you for being you.
