Grouplove confirm the release of ‘Healer,’ plot a North American spring tour

A week after starting the new year with a new song, Grouplove has confirmed that they officially have a new album coming out later this year.

On Wednesday (Jan. 15), the Los Angeles-founded band announced the forthcoming release of their fourth studio album. Titled Healer, the record is due out March 13 through Canvasback Music and Atlantic Records. Pre-orders for the new album are currently available for purchase here.

Healer is the follow-up to 2017’s Big Mess.

To promote the new album, the band will hit the road for a cross-country trek. Dubbed the Healer tour, the excursion will include stops in major markets such as San Diego, Sacramento, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Louisville, Pittsburgh, New Haven, Baltimore, Charlotte, and more.

The tour kicks off on March 18 at the Meow Wolf in Santa Fe and concludes two months later on May 21 at Iron City in Birmingham. Le Shiv will open for Grouplove during the March and April stops of the tour while Jealous of the Birds will open during the May shows.

Additional dates will be added to the newly announced itinerary at a later time.

Grouplove is teaming up with the Ally Coalition for the Healer tour. The Ally Coalition will work with the band to bring organizations that support at-risk LGBTQ youth to each show. They will also be joined on the road by HeadCount, a non-partisan organization that promotes participation in democracy through music, culture, and digital media.

Artist and Songkick pre-sales begin this Thursday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. local time. General ticket sales for the springtime outing go on sale this Friday, Jan. 17.

Grouplove return with ‘Deleter’

Grouplove’s new album may not have an official title or release date, but what we do have is a little teaser of what to expect.

On Wednesday (Jan. 8), the Los Angeles-based band unleashed their first new song in three years. Titled “Deleter,” the new track is the official first single from their newly-announced fourth studio album.

According to a press statement, “Deleter” is about vocalist/guitarist Christian Zucconi “questioning everything around him: faith systems, his sense of belonging, communities, [and] his own psyche.” Quite serious subject matters for a group that’s breakout hits are about being tongue-tied around someone they like and having “a ways to go.”

“Deleter” was recorded at El Paso’s famed Sonic Ranch with producer Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Weezer).

To coincide with the new song’s release, the group also unveiled its music video. The four-minute clip finds the band dressed up in a variety of jumpsuits running around Los Angeles and performing on a soundstage with a revolving door of art surrounding them (and yes, a duet and some cuddling between Zucconi and bandmate/wife, Hannah Hopper).

While Grouplove’s long-awaited fourth studio album does not have a title or release date yet, the group has confirmed that it will see a 2020 release date. The new year just started, so we’re just going to keep an eye out for that.

Grouplove’s last studio album was 2017’s Big Mess.

Dan Reynolds, Kesha, Tegan & Sara to headline LoveLoud Festival 2019

Kesha, Tegan & Sara, and Martin Garrix are just some of the acts who will make their way to Utah in the summer for the annual LoveLoud Festival. On Wednesday (March 13), festival creator and Imagine Dragons’ frontman Dan Reynolds formally announced the lineup for the 2019 incarnations of the annual event.

Joining Kesha, Tegan & Sara, and Martin Garrix on the lineup for the third annual festival are PVRIS, Grouplove, Daya, K. Flay, Laura Jane Grace of Against Me!, and Reynolds. According to a press statement, additional performers and speakers will be announced at a later date.

“I’m truly honored and humbled to be headlining LoveLoud this year,” Kesha said in a statement.

“I stand with my talented friend Dan Reynolds and Imagine Dragons in this fight for equality. We need to make sure that all LGBTQ+ people feel accepted and supported and that families have the support that they need. It’s important to try to keep families together and having positive, open-minded conversations and, for me, to be a part of something that can continue building the bridge to create a safe space for everyone sounds like a beautiful opportunity. A place that supports all people and all love.”

Reynolds founded the LoveLoud Foundation and its companion festival in 2017 as a way to raise money and awareness for organizations that benefit the LGBTQ+ community, particularly those focused on mental health and suicide prevention.

As with the past incarnations of the festival, this year they aim to raise more than $1,000,000 which will be donated to a slew of LGBTQ+ organizations including The Trevor Project, GLAAD, the Human Rights Campaign, Tegan and Sara Foundation, and Encircle. Last year, the festival surpassed its goal.

LoveLoud Festival will take place on June 29 at the USANA Amphitheatre in West Valley City, Utah. The date for the one-day event also has a special meaning; it’s the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.

On June 28, 1969, New York City police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay club in Greenwich Village, and roughly hauled employees and patrons out of the bar. The next day, angry patrons and neighborhood residents took to the streets to protest the treatment which led to violent clashes between the protesters and law enforcement.

For those who will not be able to make it in person, the entire event will be live-streamed on AT&T’s social media channels.

Incubus, Cage the Elephant, Beck to headline Shaky Knees 2019

Incubus, Cage the Elephant, and Beck are just some of the musicians who will be making their way to Atlanta in early May for the 2019 incarnation of the Shaky Knees music festival. On Wednesday (Nov. 14), festival organizers unveiled the lineup for the upcoming springtime event. Staying true to its main music genres, the lineup boosts artists from the alternative, mainstream rock, folk, and indie worlds.

Joining Incubus, Cage the Elephant, and Beck on the three-day music festival’s roster will be Tame Impala, Tears for Fears, Interpol, Foals, The Strusts, Grouplove, Father John Misty, Dashboard Confessional, Sharon Van Etten, Tash Sultana, Deerhunter, Liz Phair, and Phosphorsecent

Also featured on the bill are Mark Lanegan, the Dandy Warhols, Black Lips, Japanese Breakfast, Oh Sees, Calpurnia, Pedro the Lion, Natalie Prass, Soccer Mommy, The Joy Formidable, Lucy Dacus, Foxing, Low Cut Connie, Rayland Baxter, and Welshly Arms. Billy Idol, Nick Jonas, Pitbull lead SunFest 2018 lineup

The lineup for SunFest 2018 is out and like with past years, it looks like festival organizers made it their mission to make sure every music taste is satisfied. On Wednesday (Feb. 21), the official lineup for the 2018 incarnation of the annual South Florida music festival was unveiled. Headlining the four-day music festival this year will be Billy Idol, Girl Talk, Zedd, Incubus, Logic, Rae Sremmurd, Nick Jonas, 311, and Mr. Worldwide himself, Pitbull.

“We create our lineup to appeal to a variety of people and musical interests,” SunFest executive director Paul Jamieson explained in a statement.

As with past years, Jamieson’s statement still rings true. This year’s roster does have a little bit for every particular music taste as well as those who are interested in stepping out of their comfort zone. Holding down the fort for the pop-loving crowd are acts like Pitbull, Nick Jonas, Zedd, and DNCE while hip-hop fans will be able to enjoy performances by Rae Sremmurd and PartyNextDoor.

For the older fans in the crowd, the music festival was able to secure legendary acts like Billy Idol, who will headline the first night of the event, and KC and the Sunshine Band, who will perform Saturday afternoon. For the rock-loving crowd, bands like Incubus, Grouplove, Dreamers, and 311 will hit the stage throughout the weekend.

SunFest 2018 will invade downtown West Palm Beach from May 3 to May 6. The multi-stage event will return to its home on Flagler Drive right on the waterfront in downtown West Palm Beach. Early bird tickets are currently available on the festival’s website here. Early bird tickets cost $37-$75 with prices increasing on March 9.

Watch ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ Soundtrack Come to Life

What happens when you gather some of the artists that are featured on the The Fault in Our Stars Soundtrack for a live stream of them performing their tracks from the upcoming album?

An hour long show that is secretly getting fans of the John Green book ready for the film adaptation slated to hit theater within the next few weeks. 

Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX and Grouplove all gather in Los Angeles to treat fans, both the live ones and the ones watching from the comfort of their homes, to some live music while the film’s stars, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Algort made an appearance at the event (it should be seen around the 30 minute mark on the video).

Charli XCX, who currently has a radio hit with her guest appearance on Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy,” kicked off the show either song from the film, “Boom Clap” and treated fans to her new single, “SuperLove.”

Grouplove were the next to take the stage with their track from the soundtrack, and the first official music video for the film, “Let Me In” as well as “Ways to Go” their lead single off 2013’s Spreading Rumors. 

Leaving the biggest for last, Ed Sheeran took the stage where he performed his song which just last week was turned into a music video, “All of the Stars.” He also performed his current single, the Pharrell-produced “Sing.”

Though they didn’t make it to the live stream, Lykke Li, M83, Ray LaMontagne, Jake Bugg and many more will be featured on the album due out May 19. As for the film, that won’t hit theaters until June 6.

Grouplove Release New Video

Grouplove the band behind last year’s super catchy summer song, “Tongue Tied” are back with a video for their brand new song, “Ways to Go.” The new track will be featured on the band’s sophomore album, Spreading Rumours, which is scheduled to be released on September 17th.
