If you follow one of the many bands that we do on Twitter, then yesterday (and today) you probably saw many of them congratulating Joel and Benji Madden on the release of their debut album as The Madden Brothers.

Over the past few months, the duo have been releasing tracks from the record, Greetings from California. Songs released to date included lead single, “We Are Done” as well as “Dear Jane,” “California Rain,” and most recently, “Out of My Mind.”

Greetings from California was officially released yesterday (Sept. 12) through Capitol Records, which would explain all the congratulations the brothers got from their band friends.

In honor of the release date, the former Good Charlotte dudes gave fans the chance to listen to the album in full, for free, on Spotify. You can head on over to the music streaming site now or just click the play button on the widget below.

Enjoy and let us know what you think about the direction they have gone in.

Listen to the Madden Brothers’ “California Rain”

It’s been several months since the Madden Brothers released their first track sans Good Charlotte, “We Are Done” which incredible has become an instant smash with fans and casual listeners. Good-bye are the days of “The Young and the Hopeless.”

Today, the twin brothers who now go by, no shock, the Madden Brothers, have released the lyric video for what we can assume will become their second single, “California Rain.”

The first impression of the song is that the duo tried to get as close to the Beatles as possible without completely giving up their pop-punk roots. You can’t lie and say that “little darling” in the chorus doesn’t give you that impression.

Both “We Are Done” and “California Rain” will be featured on the brothers’ debut record Greetings from California due out on September 12 through Capitol Records.

When The Madden Brothers premiered a new song, fans of Good Charlotte or at least those casual fans, began to wonder what happened to the band that got them through middle (and some) high school.

It turned out that the group had disbanded and no body even knew about it. Instead, Joel and Benji Madden went on to form their own project, fittingly called The Madden Brothers.

At that time, they had released their first single, “We Are Done” on Ryan Seacrest’s syndicated  radio show, On the Air with Ryan Seacrest. Now, the official video for the duo’s debut track has been released.

Check out the clip below.

The song will be featured on their upcoming album, Greetings from California which is scheduled to be released on September 15 through Capitol Records.

Now, the question is, is “We are Done” just a title or a direct confirmation about the demise of the band.

Madden Brothers Release Debut Song

Our pop-rock, teenaged self were a little bummed to find out that Good Charlotte called it a day without much warning nor headlines. Heck, we still aren’t even sure if the band formally split up or if they’re pulling a blink-182/Fall Out Boy and put the group on hiatus for a bit.

One thing we can definitely be sure of is that Benji and Joel Madden have gone off to form their own project named, what else, The Madden Brothers.

Today, the twin bros debut their first, new single under the new moniker titled, “We Are Done.” The song comes for The Madden Brothers’ debut album, Greetings From California which is set to be released through Capitol Records on October 7.

The song officially premiered this morning on Ryan Seacrest’s syndicated radio show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest which is why there’s a little talky-talky going on before the song.
