Back in March, Bleachers formally announced that they would be releasing a new album in the summer when they debuted their first new song in three years. Soon after pulling off a massive scavenger hunt for USBs that housed the new tune, Antonoff confirmed that the act’s sophomore album would be titled Gone Now and would see a release date of early June. On Tuesday (May 2), the group premiered the music video for the album’s lead single, “Don’t Take the Money.”
The clip follows Antonoff whose character in the video is about to get married. Before embarking on such a momentous occasion, it appears as if the groom-to-be is getting a massive case of cold feet. As he stands there, his friend (played by Arrested Development‘s Alia Shawkatasks) asks if getting married is truly what he wants. Instead of admitting that he would rather not, they go through with it.
As Antonoff’s character, his bride-to-be, and Shawkatasks stand at the altar, things take a weird turn. Watch the ridiculous, Lena Dunham-directed music video above.
“Don’t Take the Money” will be featured on Bleachers’ upcoming new album Gone Now. Gone Now is set to hit stores on June 2 through RCA Records. In support of the new album, the group began their summer trek on April 25 with an intimate show at New York’s Webster Hall.
