From Autumn to Ashes Singer Allegedly Sentenced in Michigan

image

Last week, From Autumn to Ashes announced they had to abruptly drop off of their own reunion tour due to a “personal emergency.” The band, at the time, did not further elaborate what the personal emergency was, but did ask for those who had tickets to still attend the shows and support their tour fellow mates (Hawthorne Heights, Sleepwave, and Extinction AD).

Apparently, the personal emergency was something a little more serious than anyone at the time could have imagined.

According to Lambgoat, singer Francis Mark was allegedly sentenced in Michigan for maintaining a drug house. While Mark was not arrested or sent to prison, he was placed on probation which has resulted in his freedom to travel being restricted; a bad thing if you are in a band that’s trying to tour.

At the current time, there has been no further elaboration on the story nor a confirmation from the band or their people, but over at Metal Injection, the writer of the article did do a search on what exactly “maintaining a drug house” means.

Funny enough, the result that populated was from a lawyer in Michigan. According to the lawyer it means:

“In the state of Michigan, maintaining a drug house is illegal. An individual, who is suspected of drug activity such as maintaining a location where illegal drugs or controlled substances are kept, sold, or used by others such as a home, building, store, or other structure, or even a vehicle, may be arrested for maintaining a drug house. Even if an individual is not actually charged with this offense, he or she may still face a civil fine of up to $25,000 if penalized by the state.”

So pretty much, there is an endless list of possibilities as to how Mark was involved, if he was involved at all.

From Autumn to Ashes Drop Off Reunion Tour

Right in the middle of their reunion tour, From Autumn to Ashes have announced that due to a personal emergency, the group have dropped off of their own reunion tour.

In a statement, the band revealed the disheartening news, but did go on to encourage the fans who bought tickets to still go to the upcoming shows and support the other bands that are on the bill (Hawthorne Heights, Sleepwave, and Extinction AD). They also promised to make it up which is always a good thing.

Check out the band’s statement below.

“Unfortunately, due to a personal emergency beyond our control, we will not be able to play our upcoming west coast shows with our friends in Hawthorne Heights, Sleepwave, and Extinction AD, nor will we be doing the NYC date with Emery and Fashion Week. We apologize to everyone who was planning on coming out to see these shows. We’ll be making up shows as soon as we can. Thank you all so much for your continued support, we are incredibly grateful to every one of you for sticking by us throughout the years. We’ll keep you updated on when the make-up shows will be. As always, thanks for everything…we’ll see you soon!”

From Autumn to Ashes announced their return from six-year hiatus late last year. The news was soon followed by the news that they would be one of the several bands reuniting at this year’s Skate and Surf Festival alongside Thrice, Acceptance, and Poison the Well.

From Autumn to Ashes had announced plans to go on an indefinite hiatus back in 2008 right before releasing their last release, Live at Looney Tunes. Now, it looks like their return will be permanent and even have a pre-Skate and Surf Fest show scheduled for May 15 at Revolution Music Hall in Amityville.

If you plan on going to that show, we might advise that you check to see if there are any tickets available because the place has a maximum capacity of like 250 people and they went on sale back in March.

From Autumn to Ashes Announce First Post-Hiatus Show

Good news From Autumn to Ashes fans; the band have announced their first official show since revealing they were coming out of hiatus.

The band, who went on hiatus in 2008, revealed that their first “welcome back” show will take place on May 15 at Revolution Music Hall in Amityville; a kind of pre-Skate and Surf Festival show which will begin the following day.

For those wanting to go to the show, tickets will go on sale this upcoming Friday (March 20), but as a warning, music fans who attend shows at that venue have pointed out that it has a very small maximum capacity (some say a 250 max limit) which means tickets will sell out quickly.

But if you don’t mind waiting a couple of extra days to have a lot of space and be jamming out with other From Autumn to Ashes fans, the Long Island group will be reuniting on stage during this year’s Skate and Surf Festival alongside Acceptance, Thrice, and Poison the Well.

If you’re a Canadian FATA fan and feel a little bummed about both shows being in the United States, don’t be because they will be heading to Montebello for their annual Amnesia Rockfest in June.

Canada’s Amnesia Rockfest Announce Tenth Anniversary Line-Up and Reunions

Canada’s Amnesia Rockfest will be celebrating its tenth anniversary in a big way this year with artists like System of a Down, Linkin Park, The Offspring, and Slayer making the trip to Montebello, QC for the weekend-long festivities.

But even with the big name headliners for this year’s event, it looks like the theme might be reunions and anniversaries. One of the several bands reuniting this year at the show will be Thrice, who officially said good-bye to fans in 2012.

Late last year, the band posted a cryptic photograph on their social media accounts with the band’s name and “2015.” Since then, there have been no updates unless you count frontman Dustin Kensrue releasing a new song yesterday or drummer Riley Breckenridge being part of Angels and Airwaves.

The new year is a month and a half in and it looks like one of the big things coming for them in 2015 is a reunion at the show. The timing of the reunion couldn’t come at a better time for fans of the California band since their fourth studio record, Vheissu, turns ten in October.

Sadly, this is as close as we have gotten to any updates from the Thrice camp.

But don’t leave it to Thrice to have all the fun during the weekend; Refused, From Autumn to Ashes and Atreyu will all be reuniting during the weekend-long festival. but like we said, it seems Amnesia is taking a page out of Riot Fest’s book and having bands performing some important albums from their discography in full.

The Offspring will perform Americana, the Deftones will perform Around the Fur and Rancid will perform…And Out Come the Wolves.

Check out the full line-up below.

Amnesia Rockfest will take place during the weekend of June 18-21.

Skate and Surf Unveil 2015 Line-Up, Two Big Reunions

Skate and Surf Festival 2015 - Asbury Park, NJ - May 16th & 17th *RAIN OR SHINE

It’s only been a little over a month since Skate and Surf Festival announced just a small portion of their 2015 festival line-up and now, after promising fans for a while, the New Jersey festival has revealed a hefty portion, if not all, of the line up.

Headlining the event will be Jersey’s own The Gaslight Anthem and the Dropkick Murphys who will be in the middle of their “Celtic Punk Invasion” Tour when they drop by Asbury Park in May.

Kevin Devine, mewithoutYou, American Nightmare and more have now joined previously announced acts like Manchester Orchestra, The Wonder Years, The Story So Far, Modern Baseball, From Autumn to Ashes, Four Year Strong, and many more.

Like last year, the festival will have two (as of now) awesome reunions going on.

The first of two reunions will be Acceptance, who broke up in 2006 after releasing their super successful debut record. Fittingly enough, this comes a couple of months after guitarist Christian McAlhaney’s other band, Anberlin, called it a day.

The other band making a triumphant return to the stage will be Poison the Well who went on hiatus back in 2010.

Check out the newly revised line-up for this year’s Skate and Surf Festival.

Like the poster says, tickets for the weekend-long event are currently available. Skate and Surf 2015 will once again be returning to their home territory of Asbury Park on May 16 and May 17. For more information, head on over to the festival’s website.

Skate and Surf Festival Unveil First Batch of 2015 Performers

Skate and Surf Festival 2015 - Asbury Park, NJ - May 16th & 17th *RAIN OR SHINE

Skate and Surf Festival organizers had been dropping hints that they would be revealing some of the artists that will be going to New Jersey for the two-day festival in May of 2015. Now, the initial line-up of performers have been unveiled and so far, so good.

Bands such as a newly reunited From Autumn to Ashes, the Dropkick Murphys, Manchester Orchestra, The Wonder Years, The Story So Far, Modern Baseball, Motionless in White, and many more have already been revealed. The full official flyer for the two-day show can be seen below.

Skate & Surf

Once again, Skate and Surf will be returning home to Asbury Park, NJ though last year, they almost weren’t allowed to do so, but as we saw, they were.

Tickets for the festival will officially go on sale tonight at 8 p.m., so we will suggest if you’re digging the line-up so far, go ahead and get them while you can, especially when there are still some acts that have yet to be announced.

Remember, last year we saw the reunion of Midtown and a super special reunion including Anthony Green rejoining Saosin for their performance. Of course, that reunion has led to Green rejoining the band he once fronted for an actual tour.

From Autumn to Ashes Confirm Reunion

image

Earlier in the week, there had been speculation as to whether or not From Autumn to Ashes would be reuniting.

The speculation was confirmed to be true by the band who announced they would be reuniting. As of now, there is only one planned show; their fist since the group went on hiatus in 2008.

Read the band’s straight to the point confirmation:

“Here you go. a LITTLE bit early. We’ll be playing at Amnesia Rockfest this June in Montebello, Canada. Us and Refused are the only two bands announced so far but we hear it’s a pretty stellar line up. We’ll play some more shows as well.”

From Autumn to Ashes announced plans to go on an indefinite hiatus back in 2008 right before releasing their last release, Live at Looney Tunes. Amnesia Rockfest will be their first return to the music world after a six-year break,
