Several days after Live Nation teased a massive summer tour announcement from two big bands, the identities of those groups have been confirmed. On Monday (Feb. 6), the Deftones and Rise Against announced a huge, joint, North American summer tour. The excursion will kick off on June 9 at Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island in Chicago and wrap up a month later on July 9 at the Ak-Chin Pavilion in Phoenix.

“Every once in awhile you get to share the stage with a band so powerful they make you work harder,” Rise Against said in a statement. “After conspiring for years, we’re excited to finally share the road with such an epic band. We can’t wait to put Deftones and Rise Against fans under the same roof in 2017.”

Mirroring Rise Against’s statement about the upcoming tour, the Deftones wrote on Facebook: “We’ve been talking to Rise Against about touring together for a while now. Finally, everything aligned and we get to spend the summer playing shows with our friends. We couldn’t be more excited and can’t wait to see you at the shows.”

Joining them on the road for the month-long tour will be Thrice, who released their ninth studio album, To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere, back in May of 2016. Frank Iero and the Patience and Three Trapped Tigers will also open for the Deftones and Rise Against during the tour, but on selected dates. The full list of tour dates can be seen below.

The massive summer tour will be in support of the Deftones recently released eighth studio album, Gore. Before embarking on the North American tour, the Sacramento-founded band will hit the United Kingdom road with AFI for a short tour.

As for Rise Against, the Chicago-based band hasn’t released any new material since 2014’s The Black Market.

Tickets for the tour will go on sale beginning this Friday, Feb. 10, at 10 a.m. local time

Frank Iero and the Patience know the “Remedy” with new song

It’s been a few weeks since former My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero announced that his band, frnkiero andthe cellabration, had officially become Frank Iero and the Patience. At the time of the new band name reveal, the musician had also unveiled that the group would be releasing a new album in the fall and released said album’s first song. On Tuesday (Sept. 27), Iero and company released another new song (the second) off of Parachutes.

“Remedy,” the new track, made its official debut in the early morning hours on BBC Radio 1’s the Rock Show with Daniel P. Carter. In addition to make its world-wide debut on the station, it was also named the week’s “Rockest Record.” Listen to the new song here.

“Remedy” will join previously released track, “I’m a Mess” on Parachutes which is set to be released on Oct. 28 through Hassle Records. Pre-orders for the new album can be found on the group’s merchandise website. In support of Parachutes release, Frank Iero and the Patience will be hitting the road for a massive tour. The trek will find the band touring for the rest of 2016 and well into 2017. the complete list of tour dates can be found here.

Parachutes is the follow-up to the group’s 2014 debut, stomachaches.

FRANK IERO and the PATIENCE. announces second album

Months after changing the name of his new group, former My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero has announced plans to release a new album. On Wednesday (Sept. 7), the vocalist/guitarist confirmed not only the group’s new moniker, but also the title of their sophomore album. The new record will be titled Parachutes and is set to be released on Oct. 28 through Hassle Records.

“It’s a team that had been on my mind for a while. I heard stories about Ross that scared me to death, but honestly, nothing could have prepared me for the reality of what it is like to work with him,” explained Iero about working with producer Ross Robinson on the new album earlier this year.

“It was the most heartbreaking yet uplifting, depleting yet inspiring experience I have ever had. I found out things about myself and the songs I was writing that changed me forever. I am so proud of this record, it really took everything I had, and I know I could not have made it with anyone else.”

When he reached the topic about changing the band’s name from Frnkiero and the cellabration to Frank Iero and the Patience, he had the following to say: “When I first started this journey, I brought a band along that filled in the gaps of what I lacked. I was uncomfortable in my position, so I brought a celebration or a ‘cellabration’ to distract from my awkwardness. Now, in my life, I need to learn how to slow down and love where I am. I need the patience to appreciate the now.”

In addition to the official name changes and the new title of the album, Iero and company have also released the lead single from the upcoming album. The new song is titled “I’m a Mess” and can currently be streamed below.

According to Iero’s social media accounts, he advises fans to keep an eye out for more news later this week which will feature some upcoming tour stops. Parachutes is the follow-up to the band’s 2014 release, stomachaches.
