Glastonbury 2015 Announce Complete 2015 Line-Up

When Glastonbury isn’t letting the selfie generation know that this festival is a “selfie stick optional” event, they are revealing the super long and jammed packed line-up for this year’s event.

Previously, festival organizers had revealed that acts likes Kanye West, Foo Fighters, The Who, Florence and the Machine, Pharrell Williams, Alt-J, Lionel Richie, Motorhead, Patti Smith, and many, many more would be making the trip to Pilton, Somerset (England) at the end of the month for the five-day music event.

With about three weeks left until gates open to let in all the musical craziness, organizers revealed the rest of the long list of acts.

Check out some of the new additions, and the official poster with the updated line-up, below.

New additions include: SBTRKT, Benjamin Booker, Jon Hopkins, Goat, Idris Elba, The Districts, Palma Violets, Frank Turner, Leon Bridges, Alvvays, Tricky, FFS (the joint project from Franz Ferdinand and Sparks), Mini Mansions, Shlomo, The Cribs, SOAK, Milky Chance, The Gaslamp Killer, Donovan, The Proclaimers, Nick Lowe, Burt Bacharach, and many more.

Russian band Pussy Riot will also appear at the event for a “live conversation” while Stephen Hawking and the Dali Lama will also make appearances.

Like the poster states, Glastonbury 2015 will take place from June 24-28.

2015 Austin City Limits Music Festival Line-Up Leaks

Well, the official line-up for this year’s Austin City Limits Festival has been revealed and lets just confirm that the vast majority of the line-up that was leaked on Sunday evening were in fact scheduled to appear at the festival with the exception of the Foo fighters actually performing on both weekends.

Check out the newly confirmed first wave of acts. According to reports, the next waves will come our way in September.

If Austin City Limits Music Festival was trying to keep their 2015 line-up a secret, then maybe they need to have a little conversation with their website person about letting the secret out of the bag two days before the official announcement was set to happen.

Last night (May 3), the line-up for both weekends of the music festival was leaked online, with the website’s link circulating the interweb. Quickly after the “mistake,” the post was taken down and now an “Oops, we’re not finding the page you’re looking for” message is appearing, but not before people took to the internet to spread the word and of course screen cap the information.

Sucks for them and their surprise, great for the people who were on the fence about going.

Weekend one will feature performances from: the Foo Fighters, The Strokes, Drake, The Weeknd, Disclosure, Tame Impala, Alabama Shakes, Alt-J, The Decemberists, Chance the Rapper, ASAP Rocky, Billy Idol, Run the Jewels, TV on the Radio, Brandon Flowers, Brand New, Father John Misty, Kurt Vile and the Violators, Gary Clark Jr., Royal Blood, Jose Gonzalez, and Daughter, along with deadmau5, Bassnectar, Hozier, and Of Monsters and Men.

Weekend two will have an almost exact line up except with a few changes. Instead of The Strokes, Modest Mouse will take their place and Florence and the Machine were added to the already packed line-up.

ACL 2015 weekend one will take place during Oct. 2-4 while weekend two will take place during the weekend of Oct. 9-11 at Zilker Park in Austin.

Florence and the Machine Perform “What Kind of Man” on ‘ Jools Holland’

Florence and the Machine frontwoman Florence Welch might have been dealt a crappy hand during the first weekend of Coachella when she broke her foot, but that’s not stopping her from putting all her energy into her newly toned down performances.

During Coachella weekend two, the songstress was confined to a stool and a few weeks later, it looks like the stool has become her partner for her live performances.

Last night, Welch and the rest of the band performed on British late night show, Later….with Jools Holland. Welch, who is known for her showmanship, sat on her trusty stool to sing “What Kind of Man.” We can only assume it took all of her energy to remain seated since you can clearly see her bouncing up and down, frantically, to the song.

According to Welch, her broken foot should be healed by the time the band are scheduled to perform at Glastonbury at the end of June. We’re sure she’ll be getting enough rest in the meantime because the band’s schedule seems to be light this Summer.

Their next gig is on May 9 where they will be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live and then after that, they will have a big break before heading to New York’s Randall’s Island for the Governors Ball.

“What Kind of Man” is the lead single to How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, due out June 2nd.

While Florence and the Machine were getting ready for their second weekend at Coachella (poor Florence and her broken foot), fans of the band were heading out to independent record stores for Record Store Day where a special vinyl was released with a new track from their upcoming new album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful.

Like with every Record Store Day, the record was limited so not everyone was fortunate to get it.

But fear not. Thanks to the wonders of the internet, someone has uploaded the song titled, “As Far As I Could Get,” onto Soundcloud.

“As Far As I Could Get” joins previously released songs What Kind of Man,” “St. Jude,” “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful,” “Third Eye,” and “Ship to Wreck” on the group’s upcoming third studio album due out on June 2.

Florence Welch Breaks Foot at Coachella

How do you know that you’ve put on a hell of show for a sea of loyal fans? When two days later you find out you have a broken foot and that’s exactly what happened to Florence and the Machine’s frontwoman, Florence Welch.

Yesterday afternoon, the songstress took to the internet to reveal to fans that she had sustained a broken foot during the closing night of the first weekend of Coachella. During the band’s performance, Welch had jumped off the stage and apparently things didn’t go as planned which resulted in her busted foot.

But for those wondering how the injury will affect her upcoming tour schedule, including another round at Coachella, she reassured that she’ll still be performing, though a little restraint.

“Unfortunately while this heals, my performances will have to be somewhat stripped back. I’m so sorry, I’m pretty devastated, but I still want to do the shows. I understand this is not what you were expecting, but I hope it’s just as enjoyable.I’m going to try and make it super special for you.”

On the upside, she said she’s hoping to be back on her feet (pun intended) by the time the band is scheduled to play Glastonbury at the end of June.

Florence and the Machine Build a “Ship to Wreck” in New Song

I guess we can call today Welch Wednesday because another new Florence and the Machine song has been released.

It’s been weeks since we got the official music video for “St. Jude” and today Florence Welch and company have unveiled “Ship to Wreck,” the fifth song to be released from their upcoming album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful.

How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful is scheduled to be released on June 2 through Republic Records and will feature previously released tracks “What Kind of Man,” “St. Jude,” “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful,” “Third Eye” (which came courtesy of a live show) and now, “Ship to Wreck.”

Lollapalooza 2015 Complete Line-Up Revealed

While most of the music festivals that will be coming our way this Summer have already announced their line-up, Lollapalooza was waiting until the time was right to unveil their own line-up.

This morning, the Chicago-based event revealed their complete line-up. The 2015 incarnation of the annual festival will include Florence + The Machine and Paul McCartney as headliners. Funny enough, Florence and McCartney have both become music festival staples this year.

Metallica, Sam Smith, Of Monsters and Men, Twenty One Pilots, Brand New, Walk The Moon, and many more will also be joining the newly announced list.

Lollapalooza will return to Chicago’s Grant Park during the weekend of July 31-August 2.

Three-day general admission passes are long gone, but the festival organizers did advise that single day passes will go on sale beginning on today at 10 a.m. CT, so get on it quickly if you plan on attending this year’s event.

Florence Welch Channels “St. Jude” in New Video

Florence and the Machine are giving their fans the perfect cure to another dreary Monday; a new music video.

The video is for the track, “St.Jude” which made its debut earlier this month during a London show (fellow new song “Third Eye” also made its debut that night). Now, the video is out and features Welch soaking wet and roaming alone as she sings about the patron saint of lost causes. True, she looks like she could be said saint.

The video was directed by Vincent Haycock who directed the video for How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’s lead single “What Kind of Man.” For those who don’t read the captions or descriptions on YouTube, you might miss a very important piece of information; “St. Jude” is the second chapter of the How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful odyssey meaning we could totally be getting a mini movie out of this album.

Florence + the Machine Drop New Album Info

After releasing what was believed to be the lead single from their upcoming new record, Florence + the Machine have given fans something to look forward to in the Summer; the name and release date of said album.

The duo’s third studio album will be titled How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, just like the song they released earlier this week. The record will be released on June 2 through Republic Records.

The first official single, as it turns out, is a track titled “What Kind of Man” just like iTunes had “mistakenly” posted on Monday.

Watch the music video which  was directed by Vincent Haycock (he also directed the video for “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful”) for “What Kind of Man” below.

The record was produced by Markus Dravs who has a great track record previously working with acts like The Arcade Fire, Coldplay, and Björk.

In a statement about the record, songstress Florence Welch said the following about the producer: “Markus has done a few Arcade Fire albums and he’s done Björk’s Homogenic, which is a huge record for me. And I felt he had that balance of organic and electronic capabilities, managing those two worlds…I wanted to make something that was big but that had a gentleness to it. That had a warmth, that was rooted. I think that’s why we went back more to the live instruments. Something that was band-led almost.”

How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful is the follow-up to Florence + the Machine’s highly successful 2011 record, Ceremonials. “What Find of Man” is currently available on iTunes while the record can be pre-ordered over at Florence + the Machine’s website.

Florence and the Machine Release New Single, Some New Album Info

It’s been several years since Florence + the Machine have released a brand new record full of new songs, and today the duo have remedied that by releasing their new single, “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful.”

Late last night, rumors began that the “Dog Days” masterminds would be releasing new music very soon after they held a small listening party for friends and industry people to showcase their upcoming third album. iTunes didn’t help squash rumors either when they mistakenly (or maybe not) posted a banner advertising the new album which also included what was believed to be the first single from the record, a track titled “What Kind of a Man.”

As we found out this morning, the song was not the one iTunes had been “advertising.”

Check out the music video for “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful” which was directed by Tabitha Denholm and Vincent Haycock.

Thanks to the listening party, fans have also been given the confirmed titles of three other tracks; “Ship to Wreck,” “Caught,” and “Delilah.” We’re still waiting to see if “What Kind of a Man” is an album title or the name of a track as well as the official release date for the record.

The yet-to-be titled record is the follow-up to 2011’s ultra-successful Ceremonials.
