Joey Jordison Reveals He Did Not “Leave” Slipknot

By the sound of things, it seems that the departure of longtime Slipknot drummer, Joey Jordison was not at all what the band had made it seem to fans.

Last month, the band has released a statement letting fans know that Jordison was no longer in the band. At the time, information had been scarce and the band had said that when the time came, they would reveal what exactly led to his abrupt departure.

Jordison now, has beat the band to the punch and released a statement of his own revealing that his departure was much more like the band firing him than him leaving the band for personal reasons, like fans were led to believe originally.

Read his statement here:

“To my fans, friends, and associates…

I would like to start the New Year by addressing the recent rumors and speculation regarding my departure from Slipknot. I want to make it very clear that I DID NOT QUIT SLIPKNOT. This band has been my life for the last 18 years, and I would never abandon it, or my fans. This news has shocked and blindsided me as much as it has all of you. While there is much I would like to say, I must remain silent to further details at this time. I would like to thank you all for your unwavering love and support, and wish everyone a very happy and healthy New Year.

Recently, frontman Corey Taylor dispelled the rumor that the band were breaking up on Twitter. In his post which was dated December 29 he writes, “For those who think The Knot are falling apart, you are greatly and sadly mistaken. Bring On 2014. Great Things Are Coming. Stay Tuned…”

Paul Walker and Friend Die in Firey Car Crash

Saturday evening was a bad time for Hollywood; news had hit the web that Fast and the Furious star, Paul Walker and his business partner, Roger Rodas had died in a single automobile accident.

News spread fast after TMZ posted about it on their website. At first it was though to be a childish hoax, like many of the ones that have hit Twitter and other social media, but when a representative took to the actor’s Twitter to announce that it was not a hoax, it had become official that the actor had perished.

At the time, there was no information as to what had occurred except for that the driver, who was presumed to be Rodas, lost control of the car and hit a pole which resulted in the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT bursting into fire. Saturday evening no other variables had been known, but come Sunday, officials were saying that speed might have contributed to the crash.

Walker was in town on behalf of his charity, Reach Out Worldwide, that was raising money for the victims of Supertyphoon, Haiyan. Pictures had began to surface Sunday morning of the actor, just a few hours before the accident and reports are saying that the actor was “happy” at the event.

As soon as the internet had gotten their confirmation, many actors started to tweet their sympathies including Walker’s past and present co-stars including Jessica Alba, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese who went to the scene of the accident and had a break down as he saw the place his friend and co-star died.

Walker was reportedly supposed to film some very important scenes for next year’s Fast and the Furious 7 today, but the studio behind the films have revealed that the movies release date has been delayed as they try to figure out what to do now.

As for the crash, it is still under investigation, but video of the burning car did hit the web early Sunday. On behalf of the family and because we have a little more standard than some sites (sounds a bit pretentious we know), so we won’t be posting that video of the accident here. If you do wish to see video of the burning car then there are a number of sites out there that have it.
