Last month, video footage surfaced of The Killers covering one of the Summer’s catchiest, but at the same time annoying tracks on the radio, Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy.”
It looks like the Vegas band’s slight cover of the song back in July was not the only time they had done so. during their performance at UK’s V Festival in Staffordshire, the band covered the top 20 radio staple once again. Like when they originally covered the track in Montreal, they changed the lyrics a bot to fit the location they were in (“From LA to Tokyo” was replaced by “From Las Vegas to Staffordshire).”
There are several fan-shot videos of the cover so we’ll leave you with some of them so you can see it from different angles. Oh,a nd the best part of the video(s)? Drummer Ronnie Vannucci’s interpretive dance of the song.
According to Gigwise, “Fancy” wasn’t the only cover the band snuck in during their 19 tracks set. They also did a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Bad Moon Rising” and a slight cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Ruby Tuesday.”
We would be the first to admit that Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” has become one of our Summer 2014 staples, though we aren’t sure if it’s partially due to the Clueless-inspired music video or Charli XCX’s vocals on the track. (Azalea’s rapping is whatever, in our opinion).
It looks like we aren’t the only ones who rock the song on loud in our cars. During their stop at Montreal’s Bell Centre last week, something really cool happened when the Las Vegas band covered the Top 20 hit, though it was a short cover of their version of the track which slowed down the tempo and featured a lyrics change (“From LA to Tokyo” was replaced by “From Las Vegas to Montreal”) as well as frontman Brandon Flowers’ iconic keyboards.
The coolest part of the video, which can be seen below? When a silhouette of drummer Ronnie Vannucci did a little dance to the song.
