Hackers Infiltrate Death Cab for Cuties Facebook

image

Death Cab for Cutie may have not had the best luck last night when some hackers made their way onto the band’s Facebook page and posted some NSFW content on it. Fans of the band who were on the Facebook page last night, were given a weird and completely out of character update from the group advising them about “7 best sexual positions of all time.”

Quickly, the band pulled down the post an issued an apology for the hack. In the message they wrote, “DCFC’s Facebook was hacked this evening and explicit content was posted to the page. The account is now secure and fans will not be subjected to these kind of posts in the future. Our sincere apologizes.”

Check out a screenshot from the band’s Facebook page before the “offending” piece was removed from the website.

No word yet on how that happened, but knowing hackers, they probably did it all for the “lulz.”

Armor for Sleep Wants Fans to ‘Please Stand By’

Are Armor for Sleep coming out of hibernation?

Today, a suspicious picture was posted on the New Jersey band’s Facebook page, a page that has been inactive for months. The last thing to be posted prior to this was an image of their breakout record, What to Do When You Are Dead, and a message reminding fans that the record, which gave us songs like “Car Underwater” and “The Truth About Heaven,” had turned ten.

Now, fans of the band are not sure what’s going on after an image asking us to “please stand by” was uploaded, especially after such a long period of inactivity. Check out the post below.

Armor for Sleep called it a day back in 2009. Frontman Ben Jorgensen had released a statement revealing that the inevitable had happened to them; the band was disbanding. Since they had no new music in the works nor were there any tours in their future, they decided it was best to put the band to rest.

After the announcement, the band went quiet only to reunite at the 2012 Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey. Fans hoping that this would lead to a full reunion were quickly given the bad news that Bamboozle was just them, getting up on stage to “say goodbye properly to the people out there who never got the opportunity to see them [us] one last time.”

They ended the 2012 statement by saying that it was “for good this time- we promise,” but could this new cryptic message be them undoing what they had said three years? Who knows, we’re just hoping deep down inside that it means, maybe, there’s a “What to Do When You Are Dead Tenth Anniversary Tour” in the works because you know, it’s become the latest trend to do ten year anniversary tours.

Watch Ringo Starr’s Hall of Fame Rehearsals Featuring Green Day

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony took place a few weeks ago, but for those who were not able to make the trek to Cleveland, HBO will be airing the complete ceremony at the end of the month.

On Wednesday, Ringo Starr uploaded an almost four-minute, behind-the-scenes video showing his rehearsals from the event. In the video, we see Starr hanging out with the guys of Green Day, joking around that they should go on tour together (we’re team Gringo Day for the tour name) and that frontman Billie Joe Armstrong will be “mowing Starr’s lawn” and “painting Starr’s house.” The video even shows Starr drumming alongside Green Day drummer Tre Cool for a song the California band and the former Beatle played at the event.

The video also features Starr directing people on just what he wanted for his show and rehearing with former band mate, Sir Paul McCartney.

Cool, huh?

Check out the video below.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will air on Saturday, May 30 on HBO at 8 p.m ET.

The Devil Wears Prada Guitarist Leaves Band

A couple of hours after announcing they had officially resigned with Rise Records for the release of their upcoming new EP, The Devil Wears Prada had the sad task of informing fans that they were down a member.

Taking to Facebook, frontman Mike Hranica revealed that founding member and guitarist Chris Rubey had decided to leave the band.

In the post, he writes that Rubey’s decision to leave the band had been made back in October after they concluded their Mexican tour dates. Rubey explained that he wanted to spend more time with his wife and daughter as opposed to constantly being on the road; a very understandable reason.

Unlike the departure of many founding members, Hrancia reveals that Rubey’s exit “couldn’t be more amicable” and that they already had asked a friend of theirs to fill in his vacancy during the “Zombie 5 Tour” which kicked off this past weekend.

Read the full statement below and keep an eye out for the release date of Space.

Alexisonfire’s Mystery Announcement Revealed

After giving fans the biggest surprise on Friday with a brand new Instagram account and a photo that was updated on every single social media account associated with them, Alexisonfire have finally revealed their “BIG NEWS”: they’ll be reuniting.

Now, before we get too ahead of ourselves and give everyone high hopes of a massive tour, the band posted an image on Twitter (and probably every other social media account of theirs) with a list of festival names which they will be performing at.

One of the stops includes Riot Fest Toronto. Coincidentally, or not, festival organizers had announced the Riot Fest dates the day prior to Alexisonfire’s big tease.

The other festivals on the list include: Heavy Montreal (Aug. 7-9), Reading and Leeds (Aug. 28-30), SONiC BOOM and X-Fest (Sept. 5-6) and of course Riot Fest (Sept. 19-20).
image

While most of the festival dates are for Canadian and British festivals fans of the band in the United States shouldn’t worry that much. On the image that they posted today, it had “USA- TBA.” This TBA must come as a relief to American AOF fans because their farewell tor completely neglected the US, but did go to places like Australia and Brazil.

Now the big question becomes, what United States festivals are going to be graced by the newly reunited Canadian band? Some are saying Riot Fest Denver and Chicago are likely candidates and we could see that happening. After all, AOF frontman Dallas Green did perform at all three of Riot Fests last year with City and Colour.

Give us your guess.

Alexisonfire to Announce Something This Upcoming Monday

“What are they teasing?”

That’s probably the question on the mind of all Alexisonfire fans at the moment.

The band, who announced their break up back in 2011 and eventually did call it a day on the act in 2013 following a farewell tour, just pulled a major troll move making fans wonder what they have up their sleeves.

Earlier in the day, all Alexisonfire social media accounts posted a link to an Instagram account which was recently created for the band. The one and only picture posted on the account came with a caption that read #AOF2015.

Those looking at the picture of a skull in a heart didn’t have to look too far to know that something was coming. On the image itself was the date “03/09/15” also know as this upcoming Monday.

https://instagram.com/p/z5GNXUG4MD/

But it appears the Alexisonfire social media accounts weren’t the only ones to post the link to the Instagram account. Former frontman Dallas Green’s Facebook and Twitter for his other band, City and Colour also posted the link to the picture.

Though at the moment there’s been no indication as to what this “big reveal” might be, some are speculating a series of things. Some say a reunion. Others say a new album or maybe another boxset. All we know if that we will be sitting here, waiting for the Canadian band to give us a straight answer.

Originally, we were putting money on some kind of anniversary, but the dates are off to be the tenth or 15th anniversary of anything. (The band formed in 2001, their debut album was released in 2002, their sophomore album was released in 2004, and their third album was released in 2006.)

So we’re taking guesses. What do you think the big news for Monday is going to be?

Asking Alexandria Issue Statement About Frontman’s Departure

Several hours after former Asking Alexandria frontman Danny Worsnop announced he had left the band he fronted since 2008, the rest of the band members, more specifically guitarist and founding member Ben Bruce has spoken out about Worsnop’s departure, reassuring fans that this is just a new chapter for them.

In a long post on Facebook, he reassured fans, like Worsnop, that the band will continue with a brand new lead singer who will be fronting the band during their time on this year’s Vans Warped Tour during the Summer.

Instead of pointing out to everything Bruce said in the post, it might be better to read the entire thing below.

“It’s with heavy heart that I must announce, yet I am sure comes as no surprise to you all, that Danny has decided to leave Asking Alexandria to pursue other musical interests.

Before you lose your composure and think this is the end I would like to say that myself, James, Cam and Sam have all been in this since day one.

We love Asking Alexandria and we love every single fan/AAFamily member around the world. As with any family there are ups and downs. There are good times and hard times. A family is there to support you and help you in your darkest hours. We have been and always will be there for you guys and just this once we ask for you guys to help us out. Be our strength and our shoulder to lean on.

Asking Alexandria will not be slowing down. We are going to tour harder than ever and we are going to write the greatest record of our career.

We are extremely excited to announce that we will be spending all summer touring the European festival circuit and across North America on the Vans Warped tour with our new singer, playing a set list FOR THE FANS. We know you are here for us and we know this might seem like a scary time for us all, but we will be fine.

We will stand tall and prove to the world that Asking Alexandria is bigger than just one person. It’s bigger than just myself, James, Cam and Sam. Asking Alexandria is a family made up of the most dedicated fans around the globe and nothing and no one can hold us down. This isn’t the end, this is the start of a whole new chapter.

This is where we come together and make history. We want to thank the key people who have stood by us: Ash Avildsen and Sumerian Records, Kevin Lyman and Warped Tour, our management team Kyle, Diony and everyone at 5B, and most importantly YOU reading this.

Yes you, because without you, Asking Alexandria would not be possible. I cannot wait to share our new songs with you and I’m so SO excited to get back on the road and see you all again. Stay tuned to find out who the new singer of AA is.

Take care of yourselves, stay positive and we will see you all very soon.

Ben”

In other news, someone had started a petition on Change.Org to have Riff Raff become the new frontman for Asking Alexandria. We are not even sure if this was intended as a joke or if Riff Raff started it to legitimately be considered to front the metalcore band, after all the rapper is going to be on this year’s Warped Tour alongside the group.

Hawthorne Heights Down a Member

Hawthorne Heights will be joining Motion City Soundtrack on their Commit this to Memory tenth anniversary tour, but before the band could embark on the joys of touring, they first had to say good-bye to a significant member of the group.

Taking to Facebook earlier in the day, the Ohio-based band revealed that longtime guitarist and backing vocalist, Micah Carli had decided to leave the band and pursue a “personal venture.” The post is very light on the subject of Carli’s departure, deciding to spend more time on all the good things coming fans’ way this year including new music and more touring; everything showing that they are “more committed than ever to you [the fans].”

This departure comes over six months after another founding member of the band, drummer Eron Bucciarelli, decided to leave the band.

Check out their post below.

“BUSY TIMES AND BUSY LIVES AHEAD in the land of HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS. While we are very eager and energized by all of the touring and new music we are creating for the FUTURE of Hawthorne Heights, we must say goodbye to a significant portion of our past. We would like to wish Micah the absolute best as he takes leave from Hawthorne Heights in pursuit of other personal ventures. TO OUR FANS, PLEASE KNOW THAT WHILE WE ARE SAD TO SEE HIM GO, WE ARE MORE COMMITTED THAN EVER TO YOU.

We are excited for THE STRIPPED DOWN TO THE BONE TOUR, our 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF TSIBAW CANADIAN TOUR, wonderful upcoming shows with good friends MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK, and the various shows we have planned in between our time in the recording studio. We absolutely cannot wait for you to hear our new recorded music. We are working feverishly to finish up our 3rd EP in the HATE, HOPE, ____ series, a new full length, and our first ever series of cover songs. 2015 is going to be a busy year for Hawthorne Heights, and our fans. For being with us for the last 10 years, you deserve the absolute best…and we will work our hardest to give you everything we can. We hope to see you at the shows…and as alway, come say hello at the merch table. We will always be around.

Love JT, Matt, Mark, and Poppy.”

Hawthorne Heights’ last studio album was 2013’s Zero which will mean that the released of this three-part series would be the first set of new tracks in two years.
