Disturbed to embark on massive North American/European tour in 2019

With less than 24 hours until the release of their seventh studio album, Disturbed have unveiled a lengthy tour itinerary for the first half of 2019. On Thursday (Oct. 18), the Chicago-founded band unleashed their massive North American tour plans set to take place during the months of January, February, and March.

The upcoming trek will find the band performing at venues across the continent including stops in Los Angeles (the Forum), Las Vegas (T-Mobile Arena), New York (Madison Square Gardens), Montreal (Place Bell), and Toronto (Scotiabank Arena). The tour will begin on Jan. 9 at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego and conclude two months later on March 8 at the All State Arena in the band’s hometown of Chicago.

Following a few month or so off, the band will hit the touring circuit once more, this time in Europe. The European leg of their 2019 tour will begin on April 18 at La Riviera in Madrid and conclude a month later on March 14 at the O2 Apollo in Manchester.

Three Days Grace will play the role of supporting act during Disturbed’s North American jaunt.

Tickets for the North American shows will go on sale beginning next Friday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. local time. Pre-sales for Citi card members will begin on Monday, Oct. 22.

The upcoming tours will be in support of Disturbed’s new studio album, Evolution. Evolution is due out this Friday, Oct. 19. The record has already yield a number one song; lead single “Are You Ready.”

Back in August, frontman David Draiman told Blabbermouth that Evolution is Disturbed’s Black Album.

“If I died after this record came out, and this was the end of our legacy, I’d be okay with that. To me, this is our ‘Black Album,” Draiman explained to the publication.

Listen: Disturbed give fans ‘A Reason to Fight’ with new single

With the rise of addiction becoming a borderline epidemic, Disturbed have returned to tell fans who are struggling that things will get better. On Friday (Sept. 21), the Illinois-founded band unleashed “A Reason to Fight”; the second single off their upcoming new album. In a press statement, frontman David Draiman and guitarist Dan Donegan explain that the acoustic ballad is about fighting your inner demons no matter what those demons may be.

“The message behind ‘A Reason to Fight’ is a personal one,” begins Draiman. “We’ve all seen people that we care about fall victim to addiction. Dan [Donegan] sent me a rough idea for the song and it hit home particularly hard.”

“I know people who’ve battled addiction and have seen it in their face — the shame they have — feeling they’ve let themselves and others down,” adds Donegan. “We wanted to write a song with a positive message for people in that situation to stay hopeful and not give up the fight, as challenging as it may be. It’s an everyday struggle, but there can also be a light at the end of the tunnel.”

The music video for the new song was directed by Matt Mahurin whose resume includes U2, Metallica, and Disturbed’s music video for their cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence.” Watch the music video for “A Reason to Fight” above.

“A Reason to Fight” will join “Are You Ready” on Disturbed’s upcoming seventh studio album Evolution. Evolution is due out Oct. 19 through Reprise Records. All pre-orders of the forthcoming record will include instant downloads of the two single.

Evolution is the follow-up to 2015’s Immortalized.
