What to Watch on New Years Eve

fireworks

Tonight at 12:01, we say goodbye to the year that was 2013 and hello to the blank page that is 2014.

While some of your friends and family might be hitting the party circuit to bring in the new year, some of us are going to take our annual spot on the couch and watch the ball drop on our televisions.

Since we’ll be staying in, take a look at some of the live events that will be playing on the telly with music, of course to bring in the new year.

NBC: New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly (From Time Square in New York)

This will mark the ninth time tat Daly has held down the fort as the host of the event. Co-hosted b Glee’s Jane Lynch and performances by Mariah Carey and Blake Shelton. Also making appearances at the event will be actor-comedians, Natasha Leggero and Anthony Anderson. After a half an hour break for the local news, the party continues with Daly and Lynch.

ABC: Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2014 (from Time Square in New York)

Taking over for the dearly departed Dick Clark, Ryan Seacrest will once again host the iconic countdown. This year, The View’s Jenny McCarthy is back to co-host the event. Performances include Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Icona Pop, Robin Thicke and more. After a half an hour break for the local news, the party continues with Billy Joel singing us into 2014.

FOX: New Year’s Eve Live (from the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada)

Unlike its many counterparts, Mario Lopez will host his way into 2014 in the shortest of the celebrations; just one hours. In that one hour though, the show will include performance from J. Cole, New Politics, Krewella and Panic! At the Disco.

CNN: New Year’s Eve With Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin

If sexual innuendos and laughing at crude things is your cup of tea, Kathy Griffin is back co-hosting with Anderson Cooper for the seventh year. While every year seems to out do the other in trying to embarrass our favorite Silver Fox, Cooper has definitely learned to deal with Griffin and her antic. But, it’s still fun to see her try.
