Dance Gavin Dance to embark on springtime ‘Artificial Selection’ tour

It looks like Dance Gavin Dance are ready to take their brand new album, Artificial Selection, back on the road this spring. On Tuesday (Jan. 8), the California-founded band announced plans to embark on a massive North American tour during the springtime months. Dubbed the Artificial Selection tour, the upcoming trek will find the six-piece performing across the United States and Canada during the months of March, April, and May.

The 29-stop tour will find the band performing at venues in cities including Las Vegas, Phoenix, Dallas, Philadelphia, Fort Lauderdale, Detroit, Seattle, Denver, Toronto, and more. The forthcoming outing will begin on March 31 at the Regency in San Francisco and conclude a month and a half later on May 10 at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz, California.

Periphery, Don Broco, Hail the Sun, and Covet will join Dance Gavin Dance throughout the excursion.

Tickets for the upcoming tour will go on sale beginning this Friday, Jan. 11, at 10 a.m. local time. VIP tickets are currently available on the band’s website.

The tour is support of Dance Gavin Dance’s 2018 release, Artificial Selection. The album, the group’s eighth studio effort, was released via rise Records in the summer and peaked at the number 15 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

The band released a total of four singles prior to the record’s release; “Midnight Crusade,” “Son of Robot,” “Care,” and “Count Bassy.”

Prior to embarking on the new tour, the band will host their first annual Swan Fest. Last November, Dance Gavin Dance announced plans to launch their personally curated music festival with the help of their record label, Rise Records.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 30, at the City National Grove in Anaheim, California. All the bands announced for the Artificial Selection tour will perform at the music festival.
