Watch: Mary Poppins takes flight in first official trailer for ‘Mary Poppins Returns’

Check out the first official trailer for Mary Poppins Returns above.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film will take place during Depression-era London while the premise of the film revolves around Mary’s return after a tragedy strikes the Banks family, leaving the family, including Micheal’s three children, numb and joyless.

While this direct sequel to the original 1964 film does not star everyone’s favorite icon Julie Andrews, the treasured nanny will now be portrayed by Emily Blunt. Joining Blunt in the forthcoming film will be Hamilton mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda who plays the role of Jack, a lamplighter who has been compared to Bert.

The all-star cast also includes: Emily Mortimer as Jane Banks; Ben Whishaw as Michael Banks; Angela Lansbury as a balloon vendor; Colin Firth as banker William Weatherall Wilkins; Meryl Streep as Mary’s cousin Topsy; Julie Walters as Ellen the housekeeper; and Dick Van Dyke will play the role Mr. Dawes Jr, the retired chairman of Fidelity Fiduciary Bank.

Mary Poppins Returns is due out Dec. 19.

Mary Poppins returns in new teaser trailer

Practically perfect in every way?

Well, whatever you may have thought back in 2016 when the Mary Poppins sequel was first announced, now is your chance to get a glimpse at the upcoming film. On Sunday (March 4), the first official teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel was released during the live telecast of the 2018 Academy Awards. While the minute-and-a-half clip does not give away the plot of the film, the viewer is reacquainted with (adult) Jane and Micheal Banks as well as Mary Poppins and is (briefly) introduced to the nanny’s lamplighter friend Jack as well Micheal’s three children.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film will take place during Depression-era London while the premise of the film revolves around Mary’s return after a tragedy strikes the Banks family, leaving the family, including Micheal’s three children, numb and joyless.

The upcoming film is the directed sequel to the beloved 1964 film starring Julie Andrews as Mary Poppins and Dick Van Dyke as Bert the chimney sweep.

This time around, Emily Blunt will take the mantle as Mary Poppins while Hamilton mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda will play lamplighter Jack whose role has been compared to that of Bert.

Mary Poppins Returns is set to hit theater on Christmas Day.

Watch the ‘Finding Dory’ Trailer

“Just keep swimming, just keep swimming…”

Yes, that is the sound of the first trailer for Finding Dory hitting the web early Tuesday morning (Nov. 10). The trailer gives us an update on everyone’s favorite forgetful blue fish, who apparently is living with Nemo and his dad Marlin. The short clip features Dory sleep swimming and eventually remembering where her family is. Quite a feat for a fish can can barely remember her own name.

We still aren’t 100% sure what the plot for the film is, but with what we were given with the trailer, it might be similar to the plot for Finding Nemo, except we have a forget fish trying to find her family. Watch the trailer for Finding Dory below.

Finding Dory is set to hit theaters on June 17, 2016.

‘Mary Poppins’ Goes Metal

Did you all know that Mary Poppins was a metal head?

No? Well rest assure, neither did we.

Today, a video surfaced online and quickly became viral of someone syncing a metal version of “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” to the scenes directly from the film.

All this screaming, headbanging-ness comes thanks to YouTuber, Andy Rehfeldt who played the instruments on the track as well as Sera Hatchett and Thomas Hinds who gave us the vocal aspects of the song.

Check it out below and watch it quickly before Disney decided to take it down because you know, the mouse sees all.

Marvel Studios Unveil “Phase Three”

Looks like the three seconds in the limelight DC Comics had gotten last week when they revealed their long list of upcoming superhero films has now been sidetracked by Marvel.

In an event held today, the brains behind Marvel Studios and Disney have revealed the list of superhero flicks that will be rivaling DC’s.

The eight films will include Captain Marvel, Inhumans, a stand alone film for Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) who will play a large role in Captain America, as well as the final films for both the Avengers and Thor. Unlike the final Thor film, the final Avengers film will be split into two part; one released in 2018 and the other for 2019.

Check out the upcoming Marvel films and their projected release dates.

Captain America: Civil War (May 6, 2016)
Doctor Strange (Nov. 4, 2016)
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (May 5, 2017)
Thor: Ragnarok (July 27, 2017)
Black Panther (Nov. 3, 2017)
Marvel’s The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 (May 4, 2018)
Captain Marvel (July 6, 2018)
Inhumans (Nov. 2, 2018)
Marvel’s The Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 (May 3, 2019)

Also revealed, or not revealed at the press event, the identity of who will play the high-publicized role of Stephen Vincent Strange or as well all know him, Doctor Strange.

For the past 24-hours, rumors had been circulating that Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch had been chosen for the role that many actors had been “attached” to.

Sadly, the confirmation many media outlets were trying to get did not come. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told reporters that if Cumberbatch has been chosen to play the role, then they would have announced it at today’s event.

But then again, what Feige said might just be a way to take all the attention away from that so when they do confirm it, it will be a surprise.

Watch the Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer

Avengers Assemble?

Late last night, the official trailer for the upcoming second installment of The Avengers series, Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron, was leaked, but instead of letting this breach get to them, Disney and Marvel decided it was better to just release the official trailer for everyone to see five days ahead of schedule.

If you are one of those viewers who are still tuning in to watch Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC every Tuesday, then you knew that this upcoming Tuesday, Oct. 28, the mega-companies were going to premiere the trailer during the show.

But with such a highly anticipate film and all the picture that were constantly popping up during filming, did they really think they were going to be able to keep this trailer secret for that long? Come on, even Tony Stark messes up once in a while.

Check out the official trailer below which introduces us to Ultron, voiced by James Spader as well as newcomers, Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) who we briefly met at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released on May 1, 2015, so start making plans to line-up for the film because if this week ahead of time leak is any indication, it’s going to be a hit.

Lea Salonga Performs “A Whole New World” with Il Divo

For anyone who grew up in the golden era of Disney movies also known as the Disney Renaissance, those were the films that helped shape your childhood and probably is the reason why you are in your twenties obsessing about going to Disney World.

But aside from the amazing 2-D art and quotable line, those films also had great soundtracks which to today, you could probably still sing and get emotional about.

For us here, one of our favorite films from that period is Aladdin. To this day, we can still sing all the songs word for word and even know the lyrics to the never-before-released tracks. Come on, if the film didn’t have such a  solid soundtrack how could it have transitioned from the screen to Broadway?

Recently, a video was released which featured Tony-Award winner and The Voice Philippines coach, (and did we mention Princess Jasmine’s singing voice) Lea Salonga singing “A Whole New World.” Il Divo helped Salonga out by performing the Aladdin portion of the duet during the show.

Watch the video below and have a flashback to your childhood and admire how Salonga still sounds the same 22 years later.

Salogna will be joining Il Divo on the European leg of their “A Musical Affair” which sadly will only stay across the pond.

Watch Demi Lovato Bring a Special Guest on Stage for a Special Duet

Some stars who got their start on Disney try their hardest to hide it or put it on the backburner so that it doesn’t cloud other people’s judgement of them when they decide to evolve.

We’re sure there have been many instances that Demi Lovato has tried to do that, but the singer did something kind of cool this past weekend at one of her shows.

During the Los Angeles stop of her Demi Lovato: World Tour at the Staples Center, the singer brought a special guest onto the stage: Joe Jonas.

Yes, the guy she dated for all of five seconds joined Lovato on the stage to perform their duet “This is Me” from Disney Channel’s original movie, Camp Rock.

For those not familiar with the movie, which is hard to picture because it’s one of Disney Channel’s better original movies, it was arguably Lovato’s breakout role, playing the main character Michie who has to put up with Jonas’ egotistical Shane Gray for the summer.

Check out the video below and have a slight flashback to 2008, though it’s kind of hard to hear Jonas sing his part with all the screams from the girls.
