Vampire Weekend are back with the official music video for the first single off Modern Vampires of the City.

The video which is for the song “Diane Young,” features a who’s who of the band’s closest friends which include Sky Ferreira, Santigold and Dave Longstreth of Dirty Projectors, P-Thugg and Dave1 of Chromeo, Primo Kahn and Hamilton Leithauser of The Walkmen all enjoying their own version of the famous painting, “The Last Supper.”

While the list of special guest stars are cool, this isn’t the first time that the band have called on the powers of celebrities for their music videos. If you don’t remember, the video for “Giving Up the Gun” also featured a list of star like Lil Jon, Joe Jonas, RZA, and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Check out the video for “Diane Young” below.

Vampire Weekend and Steve Buscemi Head Up Easter Parade

What an unlikely scene it must have been to see Boardwalk Empire star, Steve Buscemi and the boys of Vampire Weekend heading the Easter Parade in New York yesterday, but yes indeed, it did happen.

Before the bunny hopping holiday even began, the band tweeted that bassist Chris Baio was digging through his family history only to find out that he is in fact “a distant cousin of actor Steve Buscemi.” They continued by letting fans know that, Buscemi was excited about finding out about their family connection.

“He has reached out to Mr. Buscemi who was VERY EXCITED about the connection. We are thrilled about the potential for showbiz synergy. There is more exciting news to come! For now, look at these beautiful, long-lost cousins”

The band and Buscemi were on present to hand out chocolate eggs at New York City’s Easter Parade and Easter Bonnet Festival. Buscemi took on the role of Easter bunny by wearing the floppy ears and handed out Easter eggs. Just in case there was some kind of misunderstanding about what was going on, the band and the actor held a huge banner that let the unsuspecting (or suspecting?) people  know what was happening.

Thanks to Coup de Main magazine, here are some pictures from the parade.
