DC Fandome event unveils slew of new teasers

Weren’t able to make it to the first (and probably annual) DC Fandome event? Well, there’s no need to worry because we have the trailer for some of the biggest films the DC Universe is slated to release within the next couple of years.

Yup. That includes the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel, “Wonder Woman 1984”, the Zack Snyder cut of “Justice League,” the sequel to the lukewarmly received “Suicide Squad” which includes a heck of a cast, and the much-anticipated first-look at Robert Pattinson as a dark and emo-looking Batman in the upcoming “The Batman” film.

Are you ready? Well, here we go:

“Wonder Woman 1984”:

“Justice League (Zack Snyder Cut)” (coming to an HBO Max near you in four, one-hour installments):

“Suicide Squad 2” (and it’s insane cast listing):

And now, for the dark and moody “Year Two” inspired “The Batman.”

While it was mostly films at the head of the table, the first trailer for the upcoming seventh season of the CW’s “The Flash” series was also unleashed.

DC Fandome will once again go live on Sept. 12, where they will focus more on their television series. Titled “DC Fandome: Explore the Multiverse,” the virtual event will begin at 10 a.m. PST.

Watch Harley Quinn navigate Gotham in first ‘Birds of Prey’ trailer

No more Mista J. (We can ALL be grateful for that.)

The (girl) gang is all here.

And did we just see Harley adopt one of her beloved “babies” (Bud..maybe Lou)?

Well, to say that there’s a lot to take in from the first trailer for the upcoming “Birds of Prey” film may be an understatement. Instead of going on about every single colorful (both visually and verbally) moment of the two-minute clip, we’re going to let you watch it again and again and see for yourselves.

Why?

“‘Cause I’m Harley-freaking-Quinn.”

“Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)” rides its way into theaters on Feb. 7, 2020.

Watch the Trailer for ‘Flash vs. Arrow’ Part Two

Last night we saw  the Arrow make his official debut in Central City as Oliver Queen and the rest of Team Arrow (Felicity and Diggle) ended up there while following the show’s new baddie, Captain Boomerang.

While there, Oliver joined forces with Barry Allen and his Flash Crew at S.T.A.R. Labs to take down their baddie of the week, Prism, who brought out the rage inside of Barry making him a self-centered, rude, and all around asshat.

Insert one of the coolest fight sequences we’ve seen or like someone on Twitter pointed out “that was the best action movie I have seen all year.”

Tonight, the Flash Crew will be heading over to Starling City to help Team Arrow take down Captain Boomerang because how else would you sign off for the mid-season than to have one major crossover?

Check out the trailer for tonight’s Arrow which finds Oliver telling Barry that they’re going to do things his way, unlike last night when Oliver lost all control of the situation as well as that question asked last night by Cisco (and every single fan of both series): Who will win in a battle between the two?

According to Barry, he will since when he fights with Oliver, it’s like the Arrow is standing still.

Jared Leto to Become the ‘Suicide Squad’ Joker?

image

It seems like a lot of people are hoping that one day soon, 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto will portray a superhero or a villain in a big budget film, or at least that’s what it’s beginning to sound like.

Last year, there was talk that he would be taking on the much sought after role of Dr. Strange, but that was squashed recently.

Now, talks have begun that the singer and :”part-time” actor will be taking on the role of the Joker in DC Comic’s upcoming Suicide Squad film due to be released in 2016. The film, which has been described as “a dirty dozen with supervillains” will be directed by David Ayer and is set to begin filming in Toronto in February.

But while Leto seems likely, with The Hollywood Reporter writing that “Jai Courtney, Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie [and Jared Leto] are in the final stages of talks for the role.”

But Leto recently told the publication that he’s been “sworn to keep my mouth shut,” which probably jump-started the rumors.

When MTV asked Leto the same question during and interview, he told them, “You know there’s a film called Fight Club, my friends, and you know what the first rule is, don’t you?”

As for the premise of the Suicide Squad movie, it’s something along the lines of “convicted supervillains are given a chance to redeem themselves through dangerous missions.”

Though it may seem a little weird on DC’s side to pick a group of supervillains going on dangerous missions to redeem themselves as the premise of one of their many upcoming films, it’s actually a very smart plan.

During episode 39 of The CW’s Arrow, the Suicide Squad became the central story with everything revolving around them and Oliver Queen’s bodyguard/second in command/ friend, John Diggle. Though we had previously been introduced to Deadshot, Bronze Tiger and Amanda Waller in other episodes (individually) we saw them all have to team up and then again during the season two finale.

Most recently, in the television series, we find Queen handing over his insane, number one fangirl, Cupid, over to the Suicide Squad as well.
