The 1975, Weezer, and Lil Wayne to headline the 2020 Beale Street Music Festival

If you’re looking for a music festival lineup that doesn’t cater to the top 40 artists, then boy do we have a bill for you.

On Wednesday (Feb. 12), Memphis in May unveiled its lineup for the 44th annual Beale Street Music Festival. Headlining this year’s event are The 1975, Weezer, The Smashing Pumpkins, and…Lil Wayne? Yup. You read that right.

The 2020 Beale Street Music Festival stays far away from the typical music festival roster, which usually features current chart-topping acts with a few artists from other genres to round it out. Instead, Beale Street gives us a mix of stadium-caliber groups, some old-school rappers, a couple of hip-hop acts, and a slew of rock bands.

Joining The 1975, Weezer, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Lil Wayne on this year’s roster are the Lumineers, Dababy, The Avett Brothers, three 6 Mafia, 311, the Deftones, AJR, Lindsey Buckingham, Portugal. The Man, Nelly, and more. The event reportedly host “60+ top musical acts from today and beyond.”

The first set of performers was announced in mid-December. At the time, it was confirmed that the Lumineers, Lil Wayne, the Avett Brothers, and Three 6 Mafia would head to Memphis during the beginning of May.

Tickets for the three-day music festival are currently available for purchase here. Three-day passes will run you $145 while single-day passes will cost you $55 (there’s a limited amount of single-day passes). If you feel like splurging, then VIP passes will set you back $699.

The Beale Street Music Festival will return to its longtime home of Tom Lee Park in Downtown Memphis during the weekend of May 1-3.
