Listen to Lea Michele’s Song About Cory Monteith

This July will mark a year since Cory Monteith passed away from his drug addiction and left his girlfriend Lea Michele heartbroken. Word had been that the Glee co-stars were about to get engaged before his untimely death even though they had been in different parts of the country at the time.

During the horrid ordeal, Michele had been in the studio working on er debut album and went on to record a song in honor of her late beau. Yesterday, the track which is titled, “If You Say So” had been released. The song was written seven days after Monteith’s passing.

Check out the song and maybe have a handkerchief handy since we all know the song was sad story behind it.

Lea Michele Thanks Fans During Teen Choice Awards

The Teen Choice Awards are usually a time for actors and musicians in the genres directed towards teenagers to get together to compete for the chance to win fan chosen awards shaped like surfboard. While the awards are a time for happiness and to catch up for the nominees, one nominee and probably the entire cast of that show, had been in mourning.

One of the most memorable moments of the awards ceremony was when Glee’s Lea Michele took the stage for the first time since the passing of her boyfriend and fellow co-star, Cory Monteith almost a month back. The actress was accepting her award for Choice TV Actress when she took that moment to thank the fans for their support in her tough time, “I just wanted to be here today to personally thank all of you and tell everyone out there how much your love and support has meant to me over these very past few difficult weeks,” she said

“Not that I had any doubt before, but you guys are most certainly the greatest fans in the world and I wanted to dedicate this award to Cory,” she added, choking back tears.

“For all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as much as I did, I promise that with your love we’re going to get through this together. He was very special to me and also to the world,” Lea continued. “We were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile, and his beautiful beautiful heart. So whether you knew him personally or just as Finn Hudson, Cory reached out and he became a part of all of our hearts and that’s where he will stay forever. So thank you guys so much. Thank you.”

Cory Monteith Passes Away

Sad news has once again hit Hollywood.

This morning, Glee star, Cory Monteith was found dead in a hotel room in Vancouver, Saturday.

The 31-year-old actor was staying at the Fairmont Pacific Hotel which he had been schedule to stay at from July 6 to July 13. Upon missing his check out time, someone was sent to check up on him which led to the discovery of his lifeless body, alone in his room on the 21st floor.

According to Acting Vancouver Police Chief Doug LaPard, there was no evidence of foul playing being involved in his sudden death, but have said that they will not be discussing what they found inside of the actor’s room. The authorities also revealed that Monteith had been dead for several hour before being found. The cause of death, at least for now, has not been revealed.

The actor had checked into the hotel last Saturday and was not staying with his girlfriend, fellow Glee star, Lea Michele who was seen just a few days back in Mexico.

The police do have video of the actor returning to the hotel room earlier that morning by himself. Following the discovering, his family was quickly notified, before a press conference was held. Out of respect for the family, the authorities wanted to confirm his passing so no one would become intrusive and invade the family in their time of grieving.

“We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss,” a rep for Monteith said in a statement.

Also following suit, a statement from Glee executive producers, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company has also been released, “We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”

Earlier this year, Monteith checked into a drug addiction treatment facility in April for substance abuse which he had been fighting against since the age of 13. He had been very open about his substance abuse and even admitted to starting doing drugs at the age of 13 and going into rehab for the first time at the age of 19.

Cory Monteith Voluntarily Checks into Rehab

In what could be the most “out of nowhere” news to come out of the weekend, Glee star, Cory Monteith, has entered a rehab facility.

According to a press release given by his publicist to People Magazine, he has “voluntarily admitted himself to a treatment facility for substance addiction. He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery.”

Lea Michele, Monteith’s girlfriend and fellow cast mate went on to release a statement after the news hit. “I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision,” she told People Magazine as well.

Following the line of statements about the actor’s voluntarily check-in was the show that made him a household name. “Cory is a beloved member of the Glee family and we fully support his decision to seek treatment. Everyone at the show wishes him well and looks forward to his return,” the show released in a statement.

This is not Monteith’s first time dealing with drug issues and going into rehab. In an interview in 2011, the star admitted that he had serious drug problem before which led to an intervention with friends and family and rehab at age 19.
