The Arcade Fire Finally Respond to Deadmau5

The Arcade Fire might be headlining a lot of festivals this year and sold out shows, but it looks like a comment from frontman Win Butler made at Coachella last week has officially turned into some serious beef.

After making a comment about giving a round of applause to bands who actually play instruments at the famous festival, Deadmau5, of all people, took offense to that and went on a heated rampage on Twitter taking down anyone in his way.

A week after that, the band have finally responded in their own way; during a show. The band released their statement in the form of an LED square, helmet thing at St. Louis’ Chaifetz Arena. Butler appeared on stage with it during their song “Normal Person” which showed an image on Deadmau5 on it.

We expect another Twitter rant from the DJ/producer any minute now.

Lana Del Rey Drops “West Coast” in the Early Morning

Leave it to Lana Del Rey to hit the stage at Coachella where fans eagerly sang along with her on several of her songs except for “Young & Beautiful” and then within a few hours (at 3 a.m. to be exact) of coming of stage, release a brand new song.

The song? “West Coast,” the first single off of her highly anticipated new album, Ultraviolence.

The official audio for the track comes a few days after the song had been performed live for the first time at  Del Rey’s show in Las Vegas last Friday. At the show, Del Rey teased the audience asking them if she should gift them part of the song or not. Eventually, the audience won out with her singing part of the new song without the backing band.

The live, fan-shot footage can be seen on Vine, but why listen to the that when you have the official audio straight from the album with the accompanying video which features a loop of Del Rey twirling on the beach with her male counterpart standing there.

Ultraviolence will reportedly be release on May 1st, by Del Rey’s own admittance, but you can never be too sure especially since secret albums has become all the rage lately.

Outkast Returning with a Bang

Outkast might have taken a break for a longtime, but now it looks like the duo are coming back with a fiery passion.

It’s been a little under a week since it was announced that the “Way You Move” crooners would be headlining the annual Coachella Festival in California and now, they have announced that they will be heading out on tour, but this isn’t just a normal tour; sources have confirmed that they will be performing at over 40 festivals, worldwide.

Yep, we almost couldn’t believe that when we first read it, but alas, it’s true.

“It’s truly an honor to celebrate 20 years and still be free to do music the way we choose,” said Big Boi. “Don’t just think outside the box, know that there is no box. I’m looking forward to rocking the stage with my Bro Ski and to all the fans — stank you smelly much, this is for y’all!”

“And imagine, all we wanted to do was rap. I am thankful to have been a part of a group that allowed me to explore anything that came to mind and have fun doing it. Returning to the stage together is the most exciting way for us to thank everyone for their 20 years of supporting Outkast,” Andre 3000 added.

They’re show at Coachella in April will mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. As for those “over 40” festivals, Coachella is the only one that has been confirmed at the moment, but we’re sure those events will be announced soon.

Even though Big Boi and Andre 3000 took a break from their group doesn’t mean that they shafted the music world during their time off. Big Boi went on to release two solo albums while Andre 3000 did launch a clothing line as well as worked on Beyonce’s contribution to The Great Gatsby Soundtrack (that cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black) and will star as Jimi Hendrix in the upcoming bio-pic.

Coachella Release Full 2014 Line-Up

Variety broke the big news last night who the headliners for this year’s Coachella would be and now it looks like one of the biggest rumors has been confirmed.

Late last year, rumor had surfaced that OutKast would be reuniting and the place for this reunion to happen would be Coachella; cut to last night when the reports were confirmed.

Also joining OutKast as headliners are the Arcade Fire, coming off a great year and Muse. Other big names heading to California for the two weekend long festival are such big names as Queens of the Stone Age, Skrillex, Beck, Pharrell Williams, Lorde, Calvin Harris, Disclosure, Lana Del Rey, the Replacements, the Knife, and Motörhead.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will take place in Indio, California during two weekends, April 11 through 13 and a repeat on April 18 through 20.

And like the tweet sent out by the official Coachella Twitter, “Share it like a Polaroid picture.”
