Lollapalooza confirm 2016 lineup, unveil daily lineup

Over the past few weeks, it seemed that everyone was trying to figure out who will be headlining 2016’s Lollapalooza. Since the speculations began, “sources” had confirmed that giants like Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers and the newly reunited LCD Soundsystem would headline the three-day music festival. On Wednesday (March 23), festival organizers unveiled the complete list for the upcoming summer gig.

As the “sources” leaked, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and LCD Soundsystem will in fact headline the festival’s 25th incarnation, but they will be joined by a slew of other great musicians. Other performers will include J. Cole, Lana Del Rey, Ellie Goulding, Disclosure, Major Lazer, Jane’s Addiction, Haim, The 1975, City and Colour, M83, Halsey, Bloc Party, Saint Motel, Melanie Martinez, The Joy Formidable,The Front Bottoms,Grimes, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Silversun Pickups, MuteMath, Two Door Cinema Club, Big Gram, Foals, Bastille, Miike Snow, and many more

The lineup for the 2016 edition of the festival is so massive, that it looks like after teasing last year, the festival will officially become a four-day event. Instead of beginning on Friday, like it has in the past, the show will now kick-off on Thursday. The four-day festival is set to take place during the weekend of July 28-31 at Chicago’s Grant Park. Tickets for the summer festival will go on sale beginning today at 11 am EST on the festival’s website.

For now, the complete list of acts, as well as the daily lineups, can be seen below.

Alexisonfire to Announce Something This Upcoming Monday

“What are they teasing?”

That’s probably the question on the mind of all Alexisonfire fans at the moment.

The band, who announced their break up back in 2011 and eventually did call it a day on the act in 2013 following a farewell tour, just pulled a major troll move making fans wonder what they have up their sleeves.

Earlier in the day, all Alexisonfire social media accounts posted a link to an Instagram account which was recently created for the band. The one and only picture posted on the account came with a caption that read #AOF2015.

Those looking at the picture of a skull in a heart didn’t have to look too far to know that something was coming. On the image itself was the date “03/09/15” also know as this upcoming Monday.

But it appears the Alexisonfire social media accounts weren’t the only ones to post the link to the Instagram account. Former frontman Dallas Green’s Facebook and Twitter for his other band, City and Colour also posted the link to the picture.

Though at the moment there’s been no indication as to what this “big reveal” might be, some are speculating a series of things. Some say a reunion. Others say a new album or maybe another boxset. All we know if that we will be sitting here, waiting for the Canadian band to give us a straight answer.

Originally, we were putting money on some kind of anniversary, but the dates are off to be the tenth or 15th anniversary of anything. (The band formed in 2001, their debut album was released in 2002, their sophomore album was released in 2004, and their third album was released in 2006.)

So we’re taking guesses. What do you think the big news for Monday is going to be?

Stream You + Me’s Debut Record

image

When fans of City and Colour (Dallas Green) and P!nk found out that the two musicians had teamed up to record an album under an alias, curiosity seemed to be the main reaction to the project.

The duo, who now go by You + Me are currently streaming their debut album, Rose Ave. on iTunes Radio a week before the record is scheduled to be released.

Check out the album here.

You + Me began as a project between P!nk and Green who just decided to join forces and put out new music. The band have released two songs from their new album, “You and Me” and “Break the Cycle.”

In an interview when “Break the Cycle” was released, P!nk said that the song was about her mom. Most recently, the musical duo released a new song titled “Capsized” which can been seen on their official website.

Rose Ave. will officially be released on Oct. 14 through RCA Records.

P!nk and Dallas Green Unveil New Project

pink

Dallas Green and P!nk have teamed up on a new project named You + Me.
The pop star announced the new project early this morning with a tweet reading, “Here’s my new baby” with a link to a website.

On the website, fans of the badass singer and the City and Colour frontman were given more information about the act including the release date for their debut record, Rose Ave. which is set to drop on Oct. 14 through RCA Records.

Also on the page is the act’s new song, and most likely lead single, “You and Me.”

Check out the song below.

Pre-orders for the CD or MP3 are currently up as well as a pre-order for a limited edition vinyl. Now, we’d like to know how this duo teamed up and decided to make new music because it seems like it would be such an interesting story. Or maybe not, we’re not sure.

Then again, this isn’t the first time that the P!nk has teamed up with the frontman of a band to record a song. Last year, she teamed up with fun. frontman, Nate Ruess for one of her radio staples, “Give Me a Reason.”

Riot Fest Announces Line-ups For All Three Editions

riotfest

After waiting for what felt like ages to see who would be performing at all three Riot Fests, the festival organizers have revealed all the acts that will be taking the stage at the three different incarnations of it.

The line-ups are proving to be a who’s-who in the rock genre with acts like The Cure, Jane’s Addition, the National, Weezer, Social Distortion, Slayer and The Offspring which we assumed would be true following the reveal of all their upcoming tour dates in support of the 20th anniversary of their album, Smash.

Chicago, which leads the pack with the most artists will take place at Humboldt Park during the weekend of September 12-14.

The Denver edition of the festival which will take place at May Farm in Byers, CO during the weekend of September 19-21 will also feature some of the same artists as the Chicago version, but not as extensive as the parent festival.

As for Toronto, The National, City and Colour, Rise Against and Billy Talent had already been confirmed, but now the full line-up for that show which will take place at Downsview Park on September 6 and 7 including a last-minute addition of The Cure to the list.

If you’re drooling over the complete line-ups, then don’t bother reading anymore and just head on over to the festival’s official site and get your tickets because we can guarantee you that they will be sold out soon, but if you want to continue down to the line-up lists, please do.

Riot Fest Toronto Announces Rocking Line-Up

wpid-toronto-2014-date-announce1

Toronto is about to be hit with some good music later this year.

Riot Fest organizers revealed earlier today the full line-up for their Toronto edition of Riot Fest. The festival which will take place at Downsview Park in Toronto announced that Canadian bands City and Colour and Billy Talent will be performing at this year’s event, but also making the line-up are The National, Rise Against, and Death Cab for Cutie.

But then the festival found themselves creating the most perfect coincidence to mankind or at least to some of our teenaged hearts happen; Taking Back Sunday and Brand New are on the same bill.

After all these years, Taking Back Sunday and Brand New will perform at the same exact show, though there is no word on whether or not it means that the two former friend bands will be playing on the same day, let alone on the same stage, but one can dream.

Tickets for the Riot Fest Toronto can be found on Ticketfly, while the show is slated to take place on Sept. 6-7. The full line-up can be seen below, thanks to the people behind the festival.

Now, is anyone going to be nice enough to help us hitch a ride to Toronto in early September?
