‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ Inspired Flash Mob

In a world where everything is bad news and not enough good stories to make you smile, no wonder most people are cynics and generally not nice. But when something does come along and puts a smile on your face, you should share it, hence why cat and puppy videos make the internet go round.

The people at Mashable decided to bring a smile to the people of New York’s faces while they are dreading the cold weather and last-minute shopping for the holidays by bringing an iconic Christmas scene to live; the Peanuts gang dancing on A Charlie Brown Christmas.

By the look on the audience’s faces, it looks like the impromptu flash mob might have just been the pick me up that they needed especially with the whole gang being there including Linus and his blanket, Schroeder and his piano and of course Snoopy

BBC Release Extended ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas Special Trailer

With just a week until we say good-bye to Matt Smith and hello to Peter Capaldi, the BBC have released a new trailer for the Christmas special, “The Time of the Doctor.”

The previous trailer for the annual special found us hearing the Daleks confirm that the Doctor was “regenerating”; in this new trailer we see that the Doctor and his companion, Clara Oswald end up visit her family for the holidays.

Like any episode of Doctor Who, the family visit is short-lived because it’s time to save the world. The trailer, much like the official poster for the special reveals that we will be encountering many of our favorite (or not so favorite) villains such as the Daleks, the Silence, the Cybermen and those pesky Weeping Angels.

Check out the newly extended trailer for the episode and don’t forget that it airs on Christmas Day at 9 P.M. on BBC America.

Trailer for ‘Doctor Who’ 2013 Christmas Special Released

“And now it’s time for one last bow
Like all your other selves
Eleven’s hour is over now
The clock is striking twelve”

With two weeks until Christmas, Doctor Who fans were starting to feel the pressure as the annual Christmas special is around the corner.

This year, like several times before, we will be saying good-bye to our favorite bow tie and fez wearing, floppy-hair, twelve-year-old acting Doctor in exchange for yet to be specified Twelfth Doctor.

The trailer starts with the Eleventh Doctor’s current companion, Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) reciting a rhyme which pretty much summarizes (reread the italicize rhyme up there) what fans have been anticipating, in a sad way, since Matt Smith announced that he would be bowing out of the iconic role that made him a household name at the end of the year.

The name of the special has been titled, “The Time of the Doctor” which let’s be honest, the writers missed the boat with things like “Silent Night” or “The Twelfth Hour” unless all these “The ______ of the Doctor” titles are some kind of pattern that fans should be keeping an eye out for.

BBC America released the following blurb about the episode alongside the trailer:

On the heels of Matt Smith’s final episode as the eleventh Doctor, BBC AMERICA is releasing the latest epic trailer from the December 25th Christmas Special, “The Time of the Doctor.” Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe’s deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars. And amongst them — the Doctor. Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe.

Doctor Who: The Time of the Doctor airs at 9:00 P.M. Christmas day on BBC America.

The Killers Release Annual Christmas Video

Last week, The Killers revealed that Owen Wilson would be in the band’s music video for this year’s Christmas track from them, “Christmas in L.A.”

For the past seven years, the band have put out tracks in partnership with (RED), the organization founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver, with 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale going to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS.

The video starts with Owen Wilson asking the voice of Harry Dean for some advice for “someone trying to make it.” The mystical voice goes on to tell him just to do nothing. Fast forward to Wilson waking up on Christmas morning by himself with his Charlie Brown like tree with a small disco ball ornament and looking at a lonely Christmas card. His world then turns into animation, much like the Christmas card he sadly, looks upon.

Check out the full video, no matter how sad it seems.

But the Christmas track is not the only piece of Killers news to hit the web today. It was also confirmed that the Vegas-based band would be performing on the U.K.’s X-Factor finale alongside the likes of Elton John, One Direction and Katy Perry. The show will be going out with a bang this season with the finalist and the performers all taking the stage at Wembley Arena during a live broadcast on ITV.

The Killers are set to perform “Mr. Brightside” and “Humans” on the show on December 14.

Brand New to Perform Four Full Album Shows

Ladies and gents and fans of Brand New, it has now been confirmed that the band will in fact be going back on tour but before you start making your way to those ticket buying site, you might want to know that as of now, it’s just four dates.

In a statement released by the band which can be read below, they explain that due to having such a good time during their stint on Riot Fest, they have decided to grace four different venues with full album performances just in times for Christmas. They explain that they will be performing two shows on the east coast and two shows on the west coast; sorry middle America (their words, not ours).

Anyways, check out the full message below from Jesse Lacey and company and maybe you should be looking into airplane tickets aside from show tickets.

To our fans and friends,

The recent shows we played around and including the Riot Fests in Colorado and Chicago were such a great time for us and we wanted to thank you all for the response, once again, to our erratic and spontaneous show scheduling. We had so much fun. So much, in fact, that we all decided we would like to do a few more shows before the end of the year.  And since we have been working on some new material, we decided that it would be fun to try to go back and play all of our previous material.

That’s right, all of it.

So we have booked 4 shows,  2 on the east coast and 2 on the west (sorry middle America), and we will play two complete albums each night. Since we want to cover everything, we are going to try to include all B-sides relating to each album as well on their corresponding nights.

The shows will be December 9th and 10th at the Observatory in Santa Ana, California, December 20th at The Paramount in Huntington, NY, and December 21st at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey. This should be a pretty fun venture, and we hope you guys will join us for the fun.

Today at 12pm Eastern, and then Pacific time a ticket pre-sale will go live on Ducatking. General tickets will go on sale this Thursday.

We hope you are all well, and we will see you soon.

 – Jesse, Vin, Garrett, and Brian.
