Charlie Puth goes ‘Fast and the Furious’ in ‘I Warned Myself’

Charlie Puth has been quiet for a bit, but things are about to change. On Wednesday (Aug. 21), the New York-born singer unleashed his first new song in over a year. Titled “I Warned Myself,” the tune was written by Puth and produced by the singer and Benny Blanco.

In conjunction with the new song’s premiere, Puth has also released the two-and-a-half-minute music video for the song. The clip features Puth in different scenarios including a desert, a soundstage with a model, inside a warehouse surrounded by women, and pulling off an incredibly-dangerous stunt by climbing onto the roof of a moving car and just standing on it as it goes.

Let’s just say that this music video could easily be an outtake from a “Fast and the Furious” film. Watch the Brendan Vaughan-directed video above.

“I Warned Myself” is Puth’s first new song since the release of his Grammy-nominated sophomore album Voicenotes. The album was released in 2018 and produced several hit singles including “Attention,” “How Long,” “The Way I Am,” and “Done for Me” featuring Kehlani.

While it’s taken almost a year for Puth to release new material, he’s been keeping busy behind the scenes. He recently provided his gifts for several artists including Katy Perry (“Small Talk”), 5 Seconds of Summer (“Easier”), Maroon 5 (“Lips on You”), Michael Bublé (“Love You Anymore”), and more.

As previously revealed, Puth will perform at the Midtown Music Festival in Georgia and a few weeks later headline the Palco Sunset stage at Rock in Rio on Oct. 5.

Lil Dicky enlist Brendon Urie, Charlie Puth, Katy Perry, and more for ‘Earth’

When Lil Dicky claimed he had recruited a slew of big-name artists for his new song, he wasn’t kidding. On Friday (April 19), the Philadelphia-born rapper shared the music video for his environment-inspired new track, “Earth.”

The seven-minute music video begins with footage of a city with smog from cars clogging the air, giving the scenery an orangey hue. The clip shifts to a group of kids hanging out and causing mayhem in their path. As they joke around, they knock over a trash can, allowing the content to litter the floor. As they go to leave, Lil Dicky passes by and tells them to clean up the trash.

After changing some choice words, the kids take their leave, but one decides to stay behind and pick up the trash. While picking up the garbage, the kid finds a book laying there. He picks it up and takes a look inside. When he does, it transports the viewer into an animated world where all the cartoon animals (or plants) in the jungle are voiced by the musicians the rapper enlisted.

The song features Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Halsey, Zac Brown, Brendon Urie, Hailee Steinfeld, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Kevin Hart, Adam Levine, Shawn Mendes, Charlie Puth, Sia, Miley Cyrus, Lil Jon, Rita Ora, Miguel, Katy Perry, Lil Yachty, Ed Sheeran, Meghan Trainor, Joel Embiid, Tory Lanez, John Legend, Bad Bunny, Psy, Kris Wu, Backstreet Boys, and Leonardo DiCaprio.

The video concludes with Lil Dicky encouraging the viewer to “look into whatever the f*** Leonardo DiCaprio is always pushing” because if anyone knows about climate change, it would be him.

Watch the music video for “Earth” above.

“Earth” is currently available for purchase here.

In conjunction with the song’s release, the Lil Dicky launched a website to give fans more information about climate change and the different ways they can do their part to help. The profits generated from “Earth” streams and views will be donated to select groups of nonprofits that tackle issues like climate change, the energy crisis, and sustainable farming. For more information about this cause, head on over to the We Love the Earth website.

Watch Charlie Puth and Kehlani resurrect the 80s for ‘Done for Me’

With less than a month until the release of his sophomore album, Charlie Puth has returned with the official music video for his latest single. On Monday (April 23), the New York-based musician unleashed his music video for “Done for Me” featuring R&B songstress Kehlani. The almost-three-minute clip begins with Puth, sitting alone in a dark room. As the song begins, the room lights up, revealing an 80s-tastic bedroom with Puth dressed like an extra from Miami Vice.

Throughout the first half of the video, we watch Puth try to get the attention of two female dancers, but fails in his attempts. Unlike Puth, who ends up going home alone at the end of the video, Kehlani is not only able to obtain the dancers’ attention, she also manages to take them home.
