While the City of Miami’s relationship status with Ultra Music Festival is still classified as  “it’s complicated” (do they want it to return to downtown or not?!), Miami Beach just announced plans to launch their own music festival in the fall. On Thursday (June 20), concert promoters Paul Peck and Steve Sybesma (Bonnaroo and the Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival) unveiled the lineup for the inaugural Miami Beach Pop Festival.

As previously promised, the roster boasts a diverse list of acts from different genres (and countries) of music including rock, R&B, electronica, jazz, country, reggae, and Latin pop.

The lengthy catalog includes Chance the Rapper, Jack Johnson, Daddy Yankee, KYGO, The Raconteurs, Juanes, Leon Bridges, Maggie Rogers, The Roots, Nile Rodgers and Chic, Sean Paul, T-Pain, Jessie Reyes, DJ Windows 98 (aka Win Butler of the Arcade Fire), and more.

In an earlier press statement, Peck and Sybesma promised to bring in some local acts and that they did. They enlisted The Miami Beach Senior High Rock Ensemble, local electronic act Afrobeta, Magic City Hippies, Roosevelt Collier, and the Frost School of Music American Music Ensemble will perform some of Ben Folds’ music with the musician himself.

“Miami Beach Pop is a celebration of one of the most extraordinary cities in the world,” shares Peck in a recent statement.

“This unmatched, vibrant culture and iconic beach provide a rare combination of natural beauty and city excitement. The core purpose that drives the vision for this festival has been to celebrate the unity of human connection. We are honored to include artists such as Chance the Rapper and Jack Johnson, who are two of the most socially-conscious and inspiring figures in the contemporary cultural landscape.”

Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 21. The will be several ticket tiers to pick from including general admission, VIP, platinum ticket passes, hotel packages, and more. For those who went a little crazy planning their summer trips, Miami Beach Pop is offering payment plan options.

Miami Beach residents are eligible to receive a 20% discount on general admission tickets. For more information about the lineup, tickets, or general inquiries, head on over to Miami Beach Pop Festival’s website here.

The three-day music festival will take over South Beach during the weekend of Nov. 8-10. The weekend-long festivities will take over the sunny sands of the beach between Fifth and 10th Street right off Ocean Drive.

Tool, Mumford & Sons, The 1975 to headline Boston Calling 2017

It’s starting to look a lot like music festival season is right around the corner. Over the past week, the lineup for Coachella, Bonnaroo, Governors Ball, and many more have been unveiled, giving those in the frigid parts of the country something to look forward to. On Thursday (Jan. 12), Boston Calling was the latest to unveiled their massive lineup.

Headlining the eighth incarnation of the music festival will be Tool, Mumford & Sons, Chance the Rapper, Bon Iver, The XX, Major Lazer, Weezer, the 1975, and many more. In total, 45 musical acts are scheduled to hit Boston during the Memorial Day weekend event.

“Between our location and lineup, 2017 will undoubtedly be the most exciting Boston Calling yet,” said Boston Calling Events co-founder Brian Appel. “We are really in awe of the support and success the festival has seen thus far, and we are more excited than ever by the future.”

In addition to the musical acts, the festival also announced that they will add a “film experience” curated by Academy Award winner, Natalie Portman. “This year, in addition to its 45 act lineup performing across three outdoor stages, it will add a film experience curated by Academy Award-winning actress, producer and director Natalie Portman, along with comprehensive food, drink, and visual arts components.” No word yet on what exactly that entails.

Boston Calling is set to take place during the weekend of May 26-28. This marks the first time the music festival will not take place at its past home of City Hall Plaza. Instead, 2017 will mark the first year the festival takes place at its new home of the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, Mass. Three-day general admission passes as well as VIP passes are currently available on the music festival’s website. The complete lineup for the three-day event can be seen below.

If Austin City Limits Music Festival was trying to keep their 2015 line-up a secret, then maybe they need to have a little conversation with their website person about letting the secret out of the bag two days before the official announcement was set to happen.

Last night (May 3), the line-up for both weekends of the music festival was leaked online, with the website’s link circulating the interweb. Quickly after the “mistake,” the post was taken down and now an “Oops, we’re not finding the page you’re looking for” message is appearing, but not before people took to the internet to spread the word and of course screen cap the information.

Sucks for them and their surprise, great for the people who were on the fence about going.

Weekend one will feature performances from: the Foo Fighters, The Strokes, Drake, The Weeknd, Disclosure, Tame Impala, Alabama Shakes, Alt-J, The Decemberists, Chance the Rapper, ASAP Rocky, Billy Idol, Run the Jewels, TV on the Radio, Brandon Flowers, Brand New, Father John Misty, Kurt Vile and the Violators, Gary Clark Jr., Royal Blood, Jose Gonzalez, and Daughter, along with deadmau5, Bassnectar, Hozier, and Of Monsters and Men.

Weekend two will have an almost exact line up except with a few changes. Instead of The Strokes, Modest Mouse will take their place and Florence and the Machine were added to the already packed line-up.

Check out the full (leaked) line-up below.
