Paul Walker and Friend Die in Firey Car Crash

Saturday evening was a bad time for Hollywood; news had hit the web that Fast and the Furious star, Paul Walker and his business partner, Roger Rodas had died in a single automobile accident.

News spread fast after TMZ posted about it on their website. At first it was though to be a childish hoax, like many of the ones that have hit Twitter and other social media, but when a representative took to the actor’s Twitter to announce that it was not a hoax, it had become official that the actor had perished.

At the time, there was no information as to what had occurred except for that the driver, who was presumed to be Rodas, lost control of the car and hit a pole which resulted in the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT bursting into fire. Saturday evening no other variables had been known, but come Sunday, officials were saying that speed might have contributed to the crash.

Walker was in town on behalf of his charity, Reach Out Worldwide, that was raising money for the victims of Supertyphoon, Haiyan. Pictures had began to surface Sunday morning of the actor, just a few hours before the accident and reports are saying that the actor was “happy” at the event.

As soon as the internet had gotten their confirmation, many actors started to tweet their sympathies including Walker’s past and present co-stars including Jessica Alba, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese who went to the scene of the accident and had a break down as he saw the place his friend and co-star died.

Walker was reportedly supposed to film some very important scenes for next year’s Fast and the Furious 7 today, but the studio behind the films have revealed that the movies release date has been delayed as they try to figure out what to do now.

As for the crash, it is still under investigation, but video of the burning car did hit the web early Sunday. On behalf of the family and because we have a little more standard than some sites (sounds a bit pretentious we know), so we won’t be posting that video of the accident here. If you do wish to see video of the burning car then there are a number of sites out there that have it.

Toby Keith’s Bassist Killed in Oklahoma

Chuck Goff

Sad news of the day for country music lovers out there. It was reported this morning that Toby Keith’s long time bassist, Carl “Chuck” Goff Jr, was killed in a two car crash in Cleveland County which is about 35 miles south of Oklahoma City.

In a statement released by the country singer, he said:

“We are deeply saddened by the sudden death of our band member, Chuck Goff. He was a close friend for over 25 years, the band leader and bass player. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family.”

Goff also had some writing credits within Keith’s 1994 album, Boomtown, including the songs “Upstairs Downtown” that landed at No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and top 10 hit, “You Ain’t Much Fun.”

While the investigation is still ongoing, authorities are saying that the driver from the other vehicle was not injured.
