Bullet For My Valentine Drummer to Sit Out Tour

Bullet For My Valentine’s “The British Invasion Tour” with Asking Alexandria and When She Sleeps is scheduled to kick-off tonight (Feb. 2) at the House of Blues in San Diego, but the band just revealed that they will be down a member. Taking to Facebook, the band announced that longtime drummer Michael ‘Moose’ Thomas will be missing the current tour. But, for those who are wondering if it’s bad news, it’s actually the complete opposite; Thomas and his wife are expecting their first child together.

The post reveals that Thomas found out late last year. In lieu of the news, Thomas made the decision to sit out the new tour to be at his wife’s side during the pregnancy. The band also writes that they “support him 100%” in his decision and have already enlisted someone to fill-in in the meantime. Read the band’s full post below.

“Hey there friends,

Our brother Moose got wonderful news late last year that he and his wife are expecting their first child together, which I’m sure you’ll join us in congratulating them on!

In light of this, Moose has made the decision that, after 10 years of non-stop touring, he’s going to take a few months out to be at his wife’s side around the birth. We support him 100% in this, and we thank our good friend Jason Bowld for agreeing to step in on the drums in the meantime.

Our tour cycle will remain unaffected by this, and Moose will be back in the hotseat later this year ready to kill it again.”

“The British Invasion Tour” is in support of Bullet For My Valentine’s recently released record, Venom. In addition to the tour, the band will also play several upcoming rock-centric music festivals in the spring including Jacksonville’s Welcome to Rockville, Ft. Myer’s Fort Rock, and Oklahoma’s Rocklahoma.

Rocklahoma Unveil 2016 Lineup

The unveiling for the “World’s Loudest Month” festival series continues. On Monday (Jan. 11), the lineup for the Oklahoma-based music festival, Rocklahoma, was announced. Like its companion festivals, Jacksonville’s Welcome to Rockville and Ft. Myers’ Fort Rock, the weekend-long event will feature performances from acts like Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie, Disturbed, Bullet For My Valentine, 3 Doors Down, SIXX: AM, and many more. The 2016 incarnation of the festival marks the event’s tenth anniversary which means it’s going to be something special, at least according to those behind the annual event.

“Celebrating the ten-year anniversary of Rocklahoma is something that is incredibly special for all of us involved with the festival, and we tried to have something for everyone with this year’s lineup,” explains Joe Litvag, Executive Producer of Rocklahoma for AEG Live. “We’ve got some incredible first-timers like Scorpions, Disturbed, Last In Line, and Collective Soul. Some fan favorites returning like Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie, and Steel Panther, and as a nod to the inaugural festival in 2007, we even have a few from that first Rocklahoma with Sebastian Bach, Great White, and Bang Tango. It’s going to be an unforgettable anniversary party!”

The three-day festival will invade Pryor, OK during Memorial Weekend, so expect a lot of partying. As always, the festival will include the option to camp at the grounds which comes with perks like the campground stage hosting performances during the Thursday night campground party as well as parties in the afternoon and late night hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Currently, special priced general admission and reserved tickets are available on Rocklahoma’s website. The specially priced tickets will be available until next Monday, Jan. 18 at noon CST. After that time, the general public sales will begin. Rocklahoma will return to their stomping grounds of the Catch the Fever  Festival Grounds in Pryor during the weekend of May 27-29.

Bullet for My Valentine Unveil “War” Video

Almost a week after the audio release of their new single, Bullet For My Valentine have given fans the official music video for “You Want a Battle? (Here’s a War).”

The video follows a family as they have reached rock bottom due to the father and all his abuse. Instead of “taking it anymore” (like the lyrics say), they decided that it’s time to take care of the negative aspect of their life. The video also features shots of the band performing the song.

Check out the music video below.

“You Want a Battle? (Here’s a War)” will join lead single “No Way Out” and “Broken”(it made its debut during the group’s performance at the Camden Rocks Festival) on Venom, the Welsh band’s fifth studio album. The record is set to be released on Aug. 14 through RCA Records.

Bullet For My Valentine Declare “A War” with New Song

Bullet For My Valentine will be opening for Slipknot and Lamb of God during the “Summer’s Last Stand” tour alongside Motionless in White, but before they can get to that, they have released a new song in anticipation of their upcoming new album.

The new song is titled “You Want a Battle? (Here’s a War)” and will be featured on their impending record, Venom.

While the newly released video is only the audio for the track, the band have confirmed the official music video will be released on Monday, June 29.

In a recent interview with Billboard, frontman Matt Tuck unveiled that the song is them addressing the issue of being bullied and telling their fans that it happens to everyone.

“[It] happens to everybody, and it’s not a nice place to be when that happens. It took me a long time to actually pluck up the courage, mentally and physically, to stand up for myself, so it was kind of momentous moment for me. I had lost all these battles in my young life, and all of a sudden I was growing into a young man. I was able to stand up for myself and defend myself, and the band actually became something big and special and just like the biggest ‘f*** you’ to everyone. That’s what that song’s about, really. It’s about going through hard times and coming through the other side.”

Listen to “You Want a Battle? (Here’s a War)” below.

“You Want a Battle? (Here’s a War)” will join lead single “No Way Out” on Venom which is due out on Aug. 14 through RCA Records.
