Bullet For My Valentine’s “The British Invasion Tour” with Asking Alexandria and When She Sleeps is scheduled to kick-off tonight (Feb. 2) at the House of Blues in San Diego, but the band just revealed that they will be down a member. Taking to Facebook, the band announced that longtime drummer Michael ‘Moose’ Thomas will be missing the current tour. But, for those who are wondering if it’s bad news, it’s actually the complete opposite; Thomas and his wife are expecting their first child together.
The post reveals that Thomas found out late last year. In lieu of the news, Thomas made the decision to sit out the new tour to be at his wife’s side during the pregnancy. The band also writes that they “support him 100%” in his decision and have already enlisted someone to fill-in in the meantime. Read the band’s full post below.
“Hey there friends,
Our brother Moose got wonderful news late last year that he and his wife are expecting their first child together, which I’m sure you’ll join us in congratulating them on!
In light of this, Moose has made the decision that, after 10 years of non-stop touring, he’s going to take a few months out to be at his wife’s side around the birth. We support him 100% in this, and we thank our good friend Jason Bowld for agreeing to step in on the drums in the meantime.
Our tour cycle will remain unaffected by this, and Moose will be back in the hotseat later this year ready to kill it again.”
“The British Invasion Tour” is in support of Bullet For My Valentine’s recently released record, Venom. In addition to the tour, the band will also play several upcoming rock-centric music festivals in the spring including Jacksonville’s Welcome to Rockville, Ft. Myer’s Fort Rock, and Oklahoma’s Rocklahoma.
