Blink-182 fight boredom in video for ‘Bored to Death’

It’s been over a month since blink-182 blessed fans with their comeback single, “Bored to Death.” On Monday (June 20), the pop-punk giants gave their fans the music video for the lead track from their upcoming release. The music video begins with a teenager, sitting inside of a classroom, a scissor in hand scrapping something onto the table top before dozing off. Before long, the school bell rings marking freedom.

The video follows the teenager as he meets up with his friends in an abandoned parking lot as he goes about his afternoon doing things like riding around in a car, hanging out in a record store, and swimming in someone’s pool (without permission). In between shots of the “punk” and his friends, there are clips of blink performing in what appears to be an intimate club with a massive crowd. At the end of it all, the “punk” and his friends all end up at the blink-182, no longer ‘bored to death.’ Check out the music video for “Bored to Death” below.

“Bored to Death” is the lead single off of blink-182’s upcoming new record, California. Previously, the band release several new tunes including “Built this Pool,” “Brohemian Rhapsody,” and “Rabbit Hole.” California is set to be released on July 1 through BMG.

In support of their seventh studio album (and first with Matt Skiba on guitar), blink-182 will head out on one of the summer’s most anticipated tours. The trek will feature support from A Day to Remember, All Time Low, The All-American Rejects, and DJ Spider. The complete list of upcoming tour dates can currently be found here.

California is the highly-anticipated follow-up to blink’s 2011 release, Neighborhoods.

Blink-182 release new single, announce massive summer tour

After what has felt like years of waiting for new Blink-182, the group’s new single has been unleashed. Earlier this week, the California-based band posted on social media that the lead single off of their highly anticipated new album would make its debut on KROQ’s The Kevin & Bean Show on Thursday. But similar to what happened to their last album, Neighborhoods, things were leaked a little bit ahead of schedule. On Wednesday (April 27), audio of the much-anticipated new single, which had been confirmed to be titled “Bored to Death,” was leaked onto the internet. Almost as quickly as it was posted on the inter-web (and YouTube), the track was taken down.

Figuring that most of their fan base had already heard the new song, the track made its official debut on radio stations across the country as well as the internet. Check out the official lyric video for the new song below.

In addition to the lyric video for “Bored to Death,” the band also confirmed that their new album will be titled California. The new record which will mark the band’s seventh studio album will feature a total of 16 new tracks including “Bored to Death.” California is set to be released on July 1 through BMG. The new album comes a year after the inner-band debacle of 2015 which resulted in Tom DeLonge’s exit and the addition of Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba.

In addition to the new single, album title, and release date, the trio has also announced a massive summer tour. The summer tour is set to kick off on July 22 at Viejas Arena in San Diego, CA and will wrap up more than two months later on Oct.1 at The Forum in Los Angeles. The trek will feature a massive lineup with A Day to Remember, the All American Rejects, All Time Low, and DJ Spider heading out on tour with Blink. The All American Rejects will support Blink-182 during the first month of the tour while All Time Low will complete the rest of the tour in AAR’s spot. The complete list of tour dates ca be seen below.
