Last week, we were informed that Bob Geldof would be remaking the charity song “Do they Know It’s Christmas” to raise awareness, and we assume funds, to help combat the Ebola epidemic.
Much like when the song was first recorded, Geldof brought together many big name from the current music world who call the United Kingdom home.
Previously confirmed for the song included: Ellie Goulding, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Underworld, Sinead O’Connor, Bastille, and Elbow. At the time of the announcement, Geldof had said that a veteran from the original song as well as other artists would be revealed.
Check out the song below and see if you can spot the veteran artists among the youngsters as well as those other special guest who were not confirmed originally.
The BandAid cover comes 30 years after the original was recorded (1984) in hope to raise funds to help combat hunger.
According to Geldof, an American version of the song will be recorded as well. That version will be produced by Quincy Jones. There, reportedly, also be a German and French version of the song in the future.
The “Do They Know It’s Christmas” cover made its debut on ITV’s The X Factor last night and has already, reportedly, raised one million dollars.
