George Harrison might have received a one night show to celebrate his legacy, but Paul McCartney is getting a special album.

It was announced that a new project titled, The Art of McCartney will be released to honor one of the guys who helped shape rock and pop music.

The record will feature classic tracks such as “Maybe I’m Amazed,” “My Love,” “The Long and Winding Road,” “Helter Skleter,” “Live and Let Die,” personal favorite, “Eleanor Rigby” and many more. All tracks that will be featured on the record will include backing by McCartney’s longtime band.

Of course with such a project, it’s only natural to gather a long list of contributors including Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, The Cute, The Who’s Roger Daltrey, Heart, Owl City, Smokey Robinson, The Airbourne Toxic Event, Alice Cooper, and many more

Bob Dylan Announces Upcoming Tour

dylan

Bob Dylan announced yesterday that this Summer he’ll be doing what all the cool kids are doing and head out on his Americanarama Festival of Music. Along for the ride will be Wilco and My Morning Jacket.

The announcement came via Dylan’s website where the festival’s logo appeared with “Meet me there – Beat me there!” written. But Dylan, his band, Wilco and My Morning Jacket aren’t the only ones that will be performing; on selected dates, the Richard Thompson Electric Trio and Ryan Bingham will be joining the fun.

While news of this came as a nice surprise, it shouldn’t have come as one because last Thursday, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James sort of dropped the news during a Record Store Day interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

As of right now, the tour is slated to start on June 26th in West Palm Beach, FL and end on August 4th in Mountain View, CA. Tickets for the upcoming tour will start pre-sales on Wednesday, April 24.
