Watch: Blessthefall go under in new ‘Wishful Sinking’ video

Blessthefall are back with a brand new music video for their latest single. On Wednesday (Oct. 10), the Phoenix-founded band unleashed the second music video for “Wishful Sinking.” Originally released in February with a different corresponding visual, the new clip finds inspiration from the song’s subject matter and lyrics which make references to drowning and getting caught in the undertow.

The four-and-a-half-minute clip primarily features the band in what looks to be a small and dark room filled with water. As the group begins to play the track in the confined space, the water begins to rise submerging the band members, and their instruments, throughout the video. At one point, each member is seen briefly under the purple current or throwing themselves into the purple abyss.

“Wishful Sinking” is the band’s first song to be written with the help of the record’s producer, Tyler Smyth. The track is featured on Blessthefall’s recently released record, Hard Feelings. Hard Feelings was released in March via Rise Records. The album, the band’s sixth studio album, peaked at the No. 54 spot on the Billboard 200 chart and at the No. 5 spot on Billboard’s Top Alternative Albums chart.

Hard Feelings is the act’s last album to feature longtime drummer Matt Traynor. Traynor announced his departure from the band in August of 2018, citing family as his main reason for leaving the band he had been a part of since its inception. Traynor made his departure official following the group’s Hard Feelings headlining tour with The Word Alive.

Watch Blessthefall possess a television in ‘Sleepless in Phoenix’

Weeks after the release of their sixth studio album, Blessthefall have returned with the music video for another track from the record. On Monday (April 2), the Arizona-founded band unleashed the official clip for their latest single, “Sleepless in Phoenix.” The almost four-and-a-half minute clip begins with a man bargaining with a woman over the price of an old-fashioned television.

“I’ll give you five bucks,” the man tells the seller. “Fine. You look like you only have five bucks,” the woman says, finally accepting his offer. As the man goes on his way, the television’s screen begins to randomly flicker. Not noticing anything, the owner goes on his way, ending up in a motel. Once in his room, he plugs in the televison only to be assaulted by images of the band stuck inside to the television.

The television ends up going on a major journey, as the owner tries to remove the spirits of the band members from the possessed television. The owner goes as far as to throw the small box into a swimming pool and then have a psychic try to rid the spirits out of it.

“It was pretty awesome filming this video about Phoenix while we were actually in Phoenix,” said frontman Beau Bokan about the clip.

“The whole concept is about a dude who buys a possessed TV and he can’t get rid of it! We wanted sort of a Black Mirror/Twilight Zone vibe. Since the narrative and the performance are happening at the same time, you’ll have to watch this multiple times to catch it all! This is one of the coolest videos we’ve ever made.”

“Sleepless in Phoenix” joins the band’s previously released tracks “Wishful Sinking,” “Cutthroat,” and “Melodramatic” on their recently released record Hard Feelings. Hard Feelings was released on March 23 through Rise Records, landing at the number 54 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

In support of the new album’s release, the group will embark on a spring tour alongside Black Veil Brides and Asking Alexandria. The complete list of upcoming tour dates can be found here.

Blessthefall unleash video for new single ‘Wishful Sinking’

Several weeks after confirming a new album with its first single, Blessthefall have returned with another new song from the record. On Wednesday (Feb. 14), the Arizona-founded band unleashed “Wishful Sinking,” the second single off their upcoming album, Hard Feelings.

“‘Wishful Sinking’ is one of the first songs we wrote for this album,” frontman Beau Bokan explains about the new song. “It’s got all the familiar Blessthefall vibes that any old school fan will recognize immediately. We wanted to do what we do best while finding a fresh sound. I think it’s one of the more dynamic songs vocally and musically. It takes you on a ride that ignites the whole album.”

“Wishful Sinking” will join previously released single “Melodramatic” on the band’s impending new album, Hard Feelings. Hard Feelings is set to be released on March 23 through Rise Records. Pre-orders for the new album can be found on the band’s website.

Last month, Blessthefall confirmed the release of their sixth studio album as well as their decision to leave their longtime home of Fearless Records for Rise Records. According to an interview back in January, Bokan admitted that signing with Rise Records helped rejuvenate the band that has been in the music business for nine years and five studio albums.

In support of the new album’s release, Blessthefall are currently on tour with Of Mice and Men, Cane Hill, and Fire from the Gods. Tonight, the bands will perform at the Corona Theatre in Montreal, Quebec. The complete list of remaining tour dates can be found here.

Blessthefall announce new album, sign to Rise Records

When Blessthefall announced a massive tour for the new year in late 2017, fans were more than wondering if this was an official confirmation that they would be seeing new music soon. On Tuesday (Jan. 30), those longtime followers were given an official answer when the Arizona-founded band announced the release of their upcoming new album. Taking to social media, Blessthefall announced that their sixth studio album will be titled Hard Feelings and will see a release date of March 23.

In addition to the new record announcement, the band also unveiled the record’s first single, “Melodramatic.”  Watch the music video for the new track above.

As if the new album title, date , and single were not enough, the group also unveiled that the new album will be released through their new home of Rise Records.

“It’s not often a band like ours, that’s been together for nine years, that has five full-length albums, and that survives the ups and downs of the music scene, gets a chance at a fresh start,” Blessthefall frontman Beau Bokan explains about their change of record label. “We’re here to say that we feel brand new again. Signing to Rise has rejuvenated us as a band and we couldn’t be more excited. They encouraged us to be ourselves and to continue to write the music that we wanted.”

Blessthefall were previously signed to Fearless Records, where they released all their previous studio albums including 2009’s Witness, 2011’s Awakening, 2013’s Hollow Bodies, and 2015’s To Those Left Behind. The only album not released through Fearless was the group’s debut, His Last Walk, which was released through Science and Ferret Records (re-issue).

Pre-orders for Hard Feelings are currently available on the band’s website here.

In support of Hard Feelings‘ release, Blessthefall will be hitting the road alongside Of Mice and Men, Cane Hill, and Fire from the Gods. The complete list of upcoming tour dates can be seen below.

Blessthefall Stream “Up in Flames”

Days after announcing they would be giving their fans the chance to help spread their new song across the internet via Thunderclap, Blessthefall have released the lead single for their upcoming new album, To Those Left Behind.

The song which is titled “Up in Flames” can be streamed below.

When asked about the new record back in the back in June when the official confirmation was made, frontman Beau Bokan revealed that, “as a band we are constantly trying to outdo ourselves and take a step forward with each record.”

“With this new album we’ve taken a giant fucking leap forward and are at our absolute best as musicians and song writers. We’re looking forward to seeing where this album will take us.”

Apparently, the new record has taken the Arizona-based band to the 2015 Vans Warped Tour which they are currently in the middle of.

“Up in Flames” is currently available on iTunes for purchase while To Those Left Behind is set to be released on Sept. 18 through Fearless Records. For those interested in pre-orders and have not yet attended Warped Tour, the band will be offering that option at their merchandise tent for the complete trek of the traveling rock show.

Blessthefall Fans to Debut “Up in Flames” Video

What happens when a band gives their fans the power to debut a new music video?

We’re going to assume those fans are going to do anything in their power to get said music video out to the masses as quickly as possible.

We’re also going to assume that’s what Blessthefall is counting on.

The band announced via Twitter that they were going to give their fans the power to help them debut the music video for their newest single, “Up in Flames.”

In their Twitter post, which came with a video, they explain that they will release the music video on Tuesday, July 7, at midnight (9 p.m. for those on the west coast), but they also want the music video to go viral.

This is where the power of the fans come into play. The band have started a Thunderclap campaign to get the music video trending. Thunderclap is a “crowdspeaking platform” that is also described as an “online flash mob.” All a person needs to do is sign in with one of their social media accounts and let the messages be posted.

On their campaign page, Blessthefall write that this is about giving the fans the power since they are the reason for the band’s career. “You will premiere ‘Up In Flames’ directly through YOUR socials. We want to put the power on your hands. We wouldn’t be where we are without you. ”

Interesting concept, right?

Check out the message from the band below.

“Up in Flames” will appear on the band’s upcoming new album To Those Left Behind which is set to be released on Sept. 18 through Fearless Records. Pre-orders for the record are currently available at their Vans Warped Tour tent.

As of now, the band’s support has surpassed their goal of 500 supporters. At the time of this being written, they had 1,064 supporters with a reach of 1.4 million people.
